Chapter 84: Doctor Yun (1/2)

The rustling of leaves echoed.

Hearing the gunshots and beastly roars from the forest behind him, the leader of the Eryndel organization sneered as he hurriedly ran towards the edge of the woods. “It’s been released. They were greeted by soldiers, all wearing identical uniforms of a Bio-Scientific Institute, with their guns aimed at the exit of the bushes.

Lu Mingjing, having just exerted immense effort to secure Yingyu, stood in the middle of the soldiers, drenched from head to toe, with water dripping from his clothes.

Seeing the dumbfounded Eryndel members, he spat on the ground beside him and said coldly, “Finally, I’ve caught up to you. I was just wondering how to release all this pent-up anger. Now, raise your hands!”

Soon after, more soldiers in camouflage arrived, escorting several captured Eryndel soldiers.

The man leading the group glanced at the enormous corpse on the ground, surprised. Then, he turned to Shen Cheng and the other two, showing increasing respect. He saluted them.

Shen Cheng and the others returned the salute.

After the salute, the leading man stepped towards the corpse and, upon seeing the monstrous face, frowned deeply. “So this is… a bio-weapon?”

“They even managed to smuggle this thing into Solmara territory. It seems these people are getting more and more brazen!”

The man let out a cold laugh before shifting his gaze to Shen Cheng. He first looked at the gray-haired Demi-Human girl in Shen Cheng’s arms and then at the wound on his shoulder. With a solemn expression, he said, “We can take care of things here. Specialized Agent, you should get your injuries treated. Fortunately, Doctor Yun from the Bio-Scientific Institute is here.”

“Doctor Yun is here?” Liu Su’s face lit up with surprise, then he sighed in relief and said to Shen Cheng, “Let’s go. Your wound can’t be delayed any longer.”

Shen Cheng was slightly taken aback. “Doctor Yun?”

“He’s the honorary head of the Bio-Scientific Institute’s medical department. He’s usually nowhere to be seen,” Liu Su smiled. “You’ve got a gunshot wound, and to fully recover without leaving any lasting injuries, you’d normally have to go to the main hospital. But with Doctor Yun here, you won’t need to worry!”

“Is he really that amazing?”

Shen Cheng couldn’t help but grow curious about this Doctor Yun Liu Su had mentioned.

Several jeeps were parked on the clearing outside the woods, with soldiers standing guard, guns in hand.

After confirming the identities of Shen Cheng and the others, the soldiers saluted and allowed them through.

After asking for Doctor Yun’s location, the three of them crossed the perimeter and headed straight towards a large military tent in the center.

As Shen Cheng reached for the tent’s entrance, a brown-haired girl suddenly emerged from behind the flap, almost bumping into him.

“Whoa!”

Shen Cheng and the brown-haired girl yelped at the same time. The girl clutched her chest, still startled. “Who are you? You scared me!”

Shen Cheng took a step back and, focusing, saw that the girl in front of him, besides her brown hair, also had matching brown eyes and a very delicate appearance.
