Pregnant With My Rival’s Child
Pregnant With My Rival’s Child Chapter 23

With an arm draped over Chang Feng’s shoulder, Xue Zhongming chimed in, “Why not let him swim for an hour for fun?”

It was, of course, a joke to lighten the mood.

Just then, Chi Yao thought of something, and since Chang Feng was good at handling tasks, he decided to delegate it to him.

“I’m planning to adopt a child soon and will need a house. Chang Feng, find me one, suitable for a child to live in.”

The room fell into shock at Chi Yao’s words.

“No way, Chi Shao (Young Master Chi), you’re so young, and you already want a kid? Kids are a hassle.” Xue Zhongming immediately shook his head, unable to picture Chi Yao, who was only in his early twenties, wanting a child so soon.

“I like kids. Can you handle it?” Chi Yao glanced at Chang Feng.

How could Chang Feng refuse?

Being entrusted with a task was a sign of Chi Yao’s trust. This was a win-win.

“Absolutely. I’ll take care of it. You can count on me,” Chang Feng assured, vowing to do it right.

“Money’s not an issue. Spend as much as you need.” Chi Yao encouraged him to go all out.

“Understood.”

Inside, Chang Feng was overjoyed.

Later in the afternoon, Chi Yao felt a bit tired. Lately, he had been taking afternoon naps daily, so he went to the back to rest, leaving Xue Zhongming in charge of watching the actor still soaking in the water.

Amusement Park: The Baby Will Love It

Chang Feng wasted no time. With incredible efficiency, he immediately called a few friends, telling a couple of them straight up that Chi Yao was looking for a house, while with the others, he was more discreet, only mentioning that a wealthy second-generation kid needed a house for a child.

His friends, all involved in real estate, were quick to offer help. They told him to come over and check some listings when he had time.

Chang Feng said he was busy at the moment but would go as soon as he could.

He ended the call, barely able to suppress his grin.

Xue Zhongming gestured for him to sit and have a drink together.

It was through their conversation that Chang Feng learned about Chi Yao’s plan to adopt. He had initially thought Xue Zhongming was joking.

But Xue Zhongming hadn’t had a clue either.

“What’s he thinking?” Xue Zhongming shook his head, still baffled.

Chi Yao hadn’t even graduated from college yet. Though he was in his senior year with few classes left, he was definitely still a student.

Since Xue Zhongming didn’t know, how could Chang Feng?

He shook his head too, realizing he hadn’t really spoken to Chi Yao much before.

Chi Yao was incredibly handsome, and while his father’s side of the family wasn’t particularly prominent, his mother’s side was a different story. Though his mother had passed away, his grandfather was still alive, and he had been a major figure in the North City.

Chi Yao’s relationship with his family had been strained since high school, especially after he came out. This led to a fractured family dynamic, but it didn’t change his status.

His grandfather, once a highly influential man, hadn’t been in business, but rather in a different powerful sphere.

When his mother passed, Chi Yao left his family home.

Given his past family issues, it seemed odd that he would be interested in having a child.

The abruptness of it led Xue Zhongming to suspect another reason.

“Do you think it might be… an out-of-wedlock child?” Xue Zhongming speculated quietly.

And there was evidence nearby.

One of the possible “evidences” was still in the water. With a life ring to keep him safe, an hour wasn’t too big of a deal.

The influencer had only gotten near Chi Yao and barely said a word before being thrown into the water by him.

As Xue Zhongming recalled the influencer’s earlier bragging about how girls constantly threw themselves at him, even boasting about getting some of them pregnant and forcing them to have abortions, things started to connect.

“Isn’t Chi Shao into men?” Chang Feng was puzzled. In their circle, everyone knew Chi Yao had a thing for Shen Ling, a sort of puppy love that made him act completely differently around Shen Ling, like a devoted dog.

The thought of Chi Yao being with a woman didn’t sit right with Chang Feng. Besides, with his looks, it seemed more likely that someone would pursue him rather than the other way around.

Xue Zhongming understood Chang Feng’s meaning and knocked his fingers on his glass, giving a warning glance. Some thoughts were better left unspoken.

Chang Feng quickly gulped down some water.

“No matter whose child it is, your job is to find a house. Just get it done.”

Chang Feng chuckled. No matter how busy he was, Chi Yao’s task took priority.

“Don’t worry. Even if I have to crawl on a broken leg, I’ll get it done.”

The two exchanged smiles and clinked their glasses.

An hour passed, and the influencer was finally pulled out of the water, drenched from head to toe and eager to change clothes.

But another Influencer who had been at odds with him, blocked his way.

Earlier, when the first influencer had bragged about his conquests, this girl had heard everything. Though she wasn’t a saint, at least she didn’t hurt people like he did.

To her, bragging about making girls get abortions as if it were an achievement was disgusting. An hour in the water wasn’t nearly enough—he deserved to stay there five times longer.
