Chapter 103: Successful Change of Household Registration

Zhou Jinchuan had only been there for less than an hour, but he had already witnessed many of Su Yi’s misfortunes.

And the various strange people around her.

Although he didn’t show it on his face, he was already fuming inside.

Seeing that Su Yi’s parents had failed in their attempt to arrange a marriage for her, they now had their sights set on her job.

He didn’t bother arguing with them, simply warning, “The army has its own records, this is absolutely not allowed. You should give up on this idea as soon as possible.”

Having said that, he didn’t want to stay any longer.

He directly called out to the village head, “Village head, before Su comrade came here, she had applied to move her household registration to the army, and we approved it. How is the matter going now?”

The village head was also worried about this, “To be honest, Su Yi’s family doesn’t agree, and they’ve been dragging their feet.”

Zhou Jinchuan narrowed his eyes, “Does it have to be approved by her family? You saw what happened today. If Su comrade continues to stay here, let alone freedom of marriage, even her personal safety could be a problem. As the village head, you have a duty to make decisions for her.”

The village head nodded repeatedly, “Yes, yes, I think so too. I will report this situation to the town again.”

Zhou Jinchuan pursed his lips, “Today is already the 28th of the twelfth month. It should still be possible to make it in time. Since I should be leaving as well, why don’t I give you a ride on the way?”

The village head, upon hearing him say this, was initially stunned, thinking he was just speaking casually.

But upon closer inspection, his serious and determined expression didn’t seem like a joke at all.

He quickly agreed, “Alright, I’ll go back to get my things and we’ll leave right away.”

Zhang Guilan saw that Su Yi was about to go to town with the leader and the village head, so she quickly signaled to Su Xingfa to stop them.

Su Xingfa didn’t dare to stop them.

Zhang Guilan was furious and let Su Erqiang go forward to stop them.

Before Su Erqiang could speak, he was intimidated by a warning look from Zhou Jinchuan.

As Su Yi got into the car, her family could only watch helplessly.

The guests who were dining originally thought that the leader had just come to congratulate Qin Yunfeng.

They were still wondering why the leader hadn’t brought any gifts.

Now, seeing him taking Su Yi and the village head away, they finally realized.

“It feels like that leader came specifically to support Su Yi?”

“I think so too, that leader is too good to Su Yi!”

The village head’s wife chimed in, “Everyone, don’t talk nonsense. Su Yi is such a poor thing. If it wasn’t for that leader today, she would have been forced to death by those two families.”

Everyone nodded in agreement.

They felt that Su Yi was indeed pitiful.

Now, if she could really move her household registration out of the Su family and into the army, she would be safe in the future.

On the other side, Su Yi got into the car and sat directly between Ye Xiaowu and Ye Nuannuan.

The two children chattered with her along the way, and Su Yi responded with smiles.

However, during the journey, Su Yi discreetly glanced at the rearview mirror a few times.

She saw Zhou Jinchuan driving with a serious expression throughout the journey, although his expression didn’t seem much different from usual.

But why did it feel like he was angry?

When they arrived in town, Zhou Jinchuan got out of the car to make a phone call.

During this time, Su Yi quickly asked Ye Xiaowu, “Do you think your Uncle Zhou is not too happy?”

Ye Xiaowu nodded immediately, “Definitely not happy Sister Su, you’ve been wronged so much, Uncle Zhou must be furious.”

“When we just arrived at the village entrance, we heard a commotion and arguments. Uncle Zhou left us and rushed over there.”

Su Yi was taken aback, she hadn’t expected that.

After Zhou Jinchuan finished the call, he followed the village head straight to the household registration office.

When they arrived, the person in charge was still on the phone with someone else.

She heard him repeatedly saying “Okay, I understand.”

After hanging up the phone, upon hearing that they were there to handle the household registration transfer, he quickly asked for the paperwork.

After taking a look at the name on the paper, he didn’t even ask any questions and directly issued the transfer certificate and stamped it.

The village head was stunned throughout the whole process. He had prepared a whole bunch of words to plead on the way,

But he didn’t even have to use any of them?

Su Yi looked at the situation and understood immediately.

[Did he just make a phone call to get this done?]

She remembered that Zhou Jinchuan disliked owing favors the most, and hated using back doors, yet he was breaking his own rules for her time and time again.

Thinking about this, Su Yi felt a mix of complex emotions.

However, now that she had successfully transferred her household registration, Su Yi was genuinely happy and excited.

When they returned to the car, Zhou Jinchuan took two bottles of Moutai from the trunk and handed them to the village head.

“Village head, thank you for your help earlier! This is a small token of appreciation.”

The village head quickly waved his hands, refusing to accept it,  “I didn’t help with anything, you can’t do this.”

Zhou Jinchuan directly placed the wine in his hands, “It’s only right. Su Yi has also troubled you during this time, and we may need your help in the future.”

The village head hesitated for a moment before accepting it.

He smiled at Su Yi, “Your leader is too polite!”

Su Yi didn’t know what to say either. This was the first time she had seen Zhou Jinchuan give a gift to someone else.

The village head saw that Zhou Jinchuan probably had something to say to Su Yi, so he decided to walk back to the village himself.

As he was leaving, the village head also reminded Zhou Jinchuan, “Su Yi is a good girl, I’ve watched her grow up. After she goes to the army, please take care of her a little.”

“This child has a hard life. She was never loved by her parents and was bullied since she was little. She couldn’t even eat enough food…”

The village head choked up and couldn’t continue. “In any case, I beg you!”

Zhou Jinchuan’s throat felt tight too. He only hummed in response.

After the village head left, Zhou Jinchuan got into the car and shouted to the three of them, “Get in the car first. Let’s go to the city for dinner.”

They had been too busy making a scene at the banquet.

None of them had eaten a single bite.

Su Yi quickly got into the car with the two children. However, Zhou Jinchuan turned to her directly, “You sit in the front.”

Su Yi dared not refuse. After a moment of hesitation, she sat in the front.

All the way, Su Yi noticed the gloomy atmosphere.

She took the initiative to smile and said, “I really didn’t expect you all to come. I’ll treat you to dinner in the city later. But there’s not much to see here.”

Su Yi continued to chat for a while, but Zhou Jinchuan remained silent.

She lowered her voice and asked, “Commander Zhou, are you upset that I didn’t contact you? I was planning to call you after I finished everything in the next couple of days.”

Zhou Jinchuan turned his head and looked at her. “What were you planning to do if we hadn’t come?”

Su Yi smiled, “I have a plan.”

She then told him her plan and intentions.

Zhou Jinchuan listened without saying anything. After a while, he sighed softly, “It’s a good thing we came. Your plan doesn’t sound reliable. It’s almost New Year’s Eve. Where are you going to find someone to report this? What if they find a way to deal with you before you can report it successfully?”

He couldn’t continue.

He felt a wave of fear in his heart.

At the same time, he was secretly grateful that he had arrived in time. Otherwise, he didn’t dare to think about what might have happened.
