Su Yi looked up and saw that Zhou Jinchuan was holding a bright red garment.
She had never worn such a red piece of clothing before!
Wasn’t this the kind of red coat that young people wear when they get married?
Seeing her stunned, Zhou Jinchuan became a little embarrassed, “I don’t know what color you like, the sales assistant recommended it to me.”
Su Yi suppressed her laughter and took it, “It looks pretty, I’ll try it on.”
As she spoke, she was about to stand up and go to the next room.
Zhou Jinchuan quickly stopped her, “Don’t bother, I’ll go out.”
Saying this, he gestured to Xiao Wu to stand outside the corridor.
Su Yi hurriedly took off her slightly damp cotton jacket and quickly put on the coat.
The coat was made of pure cashmere, light and soft.
Not only did it feel comfortable to the touch, but because it was new, it was also warmer than she had imagined.
When Su Yi opened the door, Zhou Jinchuan and Xiao Wu walked back in.
Su Yi smiled, “How does it look?”
Ye Xiaowu immediately chimed in, “It looks great!”
Zhou Jinchuan nodded in agreement, “It looks good.”
“But it’s snowing outside, won’t it be cold?”
Su Yi smiled, “It’s okay.”
After that, Zhou Jinchuan took out a set of ivory white scarf, gloves, and hat from the side.
All three were the same color.
Su Yi laughed as she took them, “You didn’t just buy these on impulse, did you?”
Zhou Jinchuan: ……
After the four of them finished packing, they went downstairs together to have a big meal.
On New Year’s Eve, many shops had already closed early.
Only the state-owned restaurants were still open, but they could only operate until seven o’clock.
The group, taking advantage of the time before the chefs left work, randomly ordered some dishes.
However, time was too short, and they were also embarrassed to keep the staff from going home to reunite with their families.
So they ate hastily for a while and left early.
Walking on the street, Zhou Jinchuan felt a little apologetic, “I didn’t expect it to be so rushed today.”
Su Yi also felt a little unfinished, so she suggested, “Why don’t we buy some food to take back and eat while we chat during the night watch?”
The two children immediately responded.
Zhou Jinchuan also laughed, “Let’s go!”
The three of them bought things all the way back.
Any shop or snack stall that was still open, they bought some takeout.
By the end, all four of them had their hands full.
Just before going upstairs, Zhou Jinchuan took two bottles of rice wine from the car.
“I saw someone selling it on the street the other day, so I bought two bottles. Can you drink this?”
Su Yi smiled happily, “It couldn’t be better!”
Ye Xiaowu exclaimed, “You guys are drinking in front of a kid?”
Zhou Jinchuan smiled slightly, “Rice wine doesn’t count as alcohol.”
“I want to try it too.”
“You and Nuan Nuan can have soda!”
“…”
The group returned upstairs, and Zhou Jinchuan was about to tidy up the table.
Su Yi directly pointed to the floor mat by the window, “Let’s just sit on the floor, we can see the snow falling outside, and I heard they’re going to set off fireworks tonight.”
Zhou Jinchuan didn’t say anything and moved everything over.
The four of them sat cross-legged on the floor mat, eating snacks and drinking rice wine or soda.
They watched the fireworks bloom in the snowy night and chatted casually.
Originally, the two children had vowed to stay up until twelve o’clock and wait until the New Year to sleep.
But before eleven o’clock, the two of them were leaning against each other, fast asleep.
Seeing the two children like this, Zhou Jinchuan and Su Yi looked at each other and couldn’t help but smile simultaneously.
They hurriedly got up and placed them on the bed, head to toe.
Zhou Jinchuan looked at the unopened bottle of rice wine left on the floor and asked tentatively, “Do you want to have another drink?”
Su Yi nodded, “Okay.”
As the wine bottle was about to be emptied, both of them were a little tipsy.
Time slowly ticked towards midnight.
Suddenly, the quiet night sky was once again filled with fireworks.
At the same time, there was the sound of crackling firecrackers.
Su Yi turned her head to glance at the two children in bed, seeing that they were sleeping soundly, she felt relieved.
When she turned back, she suddenly noticed that Zhou Jinchuan was staring at her intently.
Perhaps the atmosphere inside and outside the house was too warm.
Or maybe the rice wine she had drunk earlier was starting to take effect.
Instead of looking away as usual, Su Yi also mustered her courage and looked back at him.
For a moment, the only sound in the room was the beating of two hearts.
Su Yi clenched her fingers, trying to remain calm as she spoke, “Zhou Jinchuan, you know my family’s situation now. If you don’t mind, why don’t we give it a try?”
Zhou Jinchuan thought he had heard wrong and stared at her blankly for a while.
Then he suddenly reacted, “Say that again.”
Su Yi felt her face starting to burn, “If you didn’t hear it, then forget it!”
Zhou Jinchuan quickly raised the corners of his lips and smiled, “I heard you!”
Then, his smile suddenly disappeared, “Why say try?”
If they were going to be together, shouldn’t they be heading straight for marriage?
Su Yi tugged at the corner of her lips, “If you don’t want to try, then forget it.”
Zhou Jinchuan quickly agreed, “I’m willing!”
After saying that, he didn’t know what to do and just kept staring at Su Yi.
He tried to listen to her thoughts, but she didn’t say a word.
He secretly cheered for a while before asking again, “You’re not drunk, are you?”
Su Yi smiled with her lips pursed, “I am, I probably won’t remember anything when I wake up tomorrow.”
Zhou Jinchuan’s heart sank. He quickly got up to find a pen.
But just as he found the pen, Su Yi couldn’t hold on any longer and fell asleep.
Seeing her peaceful sleeping face, Zhou Jinchuan sighed softly and could only resignedly carry her back to bed.
He covered her and Nuannuan with blankets before carrying Xiao Wu to the next room.
Su Yi had taken care of all the troublesome things at home and had also said what she had wanted to say to Zhou Jinchuan, the things that had been buried deep in her heart.
Feeling completely relaxed, she could no longer hold on and fell asleep.
The night was unusually sweet.
When she woke up the next morning, she found herself sleeping in Zhou Jinchuan’s room, with Nuannuan lying next to her.
She smiled contentedly.
Then she remembered that she had mustered her courage and confessed to Zhou Jinchuan last night.
She quickly raised her hand and saw a line of small words written on her palm by Zhou Jinchuan.
——I agreed to be Zhou Jinchuan’s wife.
Su Yi couldn’t help but curse in her heart – what a cunning man!
On the other side.
Zhou Jinchuan, however, couldn’t sleep a wink all night.
At first, he was ecstatic about Su Yi’s confession.
After the excitement subsided, he was consumed by endless worry.
He worried that she was just momentarily impulsive or drunk when she said that.
He also worried that she would deny it all after waking up.
So, as soon as the sun rose, he couldn’t hold back and went next door to knock.
Su Yi had been staring at the words on her palm for a long time when she suddenly heard someone knocking.
She quickly threw on her clothes and went to open the door.
She saw that it was indeed him.
“Why are you here?”
Zhou Jinchuan nervously glanced at her, trying to find some information on her face.
“Do you remember what happened last night?”
