Black Lotus Forced to Be a Heartthrob Chapter 6: The Vain and Materialistic Man (Part 1)

WeChat couldn’t handle such a large transfer, so after reaching the limit, Chi Xingge asked Yu Zao for his bank account number. Normally, when Chi Xingge would message Yu Zao, he would be slow to reply, but in situations like this, he was quicker than anyone else.

As if afraid Chi Xingge might back out, Yu Zao subtly pushed him, saying things like, “The bank open this late?” or “Is your phone low on battery? I’ll send you ten yuan so you can borrow a power bank…”

Chi Xingge couldn’t help but laugh.

It seemed that Yu Zao had never tried pulling something like this before and assumed others might behave the same. Chi Xingge didn’t even bother to explain, fearing that Yu Zao would use it as an excuse to act up again.

Chi Xingge sent the money quickly and proudly sent the successful transfer screenshot to Yu Zao. His tone was indifferent: “It’s been transferred. Check it.”

“Got it! Wow! You sent so much!!” Yu Zao suddenly sounded like a different person, his voice full of laughter. “That’s a lot of money, you’re so generous!”

Now he knows how to flatter.

Before, he had made him sound worthless, but now that he had the money, Yu Zao was all sugar-coated words. His sweet voice sounded like it was laced with honey. Chi Xingge wasn’t new to compliments, but for some reason, when they came from Yu Zao, they felt different.

Such a small amount of money, and yet Yu Zao was so happy. If he sent more, wouldn’t she float away with joy?

Chi Xingge smirked. After transferring the money, she felt he could finally speak with confidence: “Wiped your tears? Still mad?”

Yu Zao had been faking his tears earlier, though there was a bit of frustration from being scared. Now, having tasted the benefits, his lashes and lips were curling up, his voice upbeat: “Not mad anymore.”

“You mentioned the photos earlier. I took them, but…” Now that the money was in his hands, Yu Zao hesitated, “But I’m not sure if these kinds of photos are okay… It’s my first time doing this.”

He looked at his other phone screen, brushing his knee shyly, “It feels strange.”

Chi Xingge asked, “What’s strange about it?”

“It just feels… weird.” Yu Zao couldn’t quite put his feelings into words.

Chi Xingge thought for a moment and said, “Send them to me, let me take a look.”

Though greedy and a bit sly, Yu Zao was sharp and cautious: “Why should I send them to you?”

“Don’t act like I’m trying to get your photos.”

Chi Xingge had already apologized, played the part, and transferred the money. Yet, in Yu Zao’s eyes, he was still a sleazy guy trying to get photos? What did he take him for? His tone turned sharp again, “Do I look like that kind of person? Besides, I have what you have. What’s there to see?”

“You may be pretty with a nice body, slim waist, long legs, fair skin, big eyes, small mouth, a nice voice, and a great figure… but what else do you have going for you?”

Yu Zao was stunned, unable to tell whether he was complimenting or insulting him. His face flushed red: “You… you.”

“What, I can’t say that?” Chi Xingge could easily imagine what Yu Zao’s expression was now—probably so angry that his eyelashes were twitching. Expert at pushing buttons, Chi Xingge continued while smoothly sending the money: “You’ve got quite the temper, like a spoiled princess.”

But the spark of anger in Yu Zao was quickly extinguished by the ding of a text confirming a transfer of one million yuan.

He blinked wide-eyed, thinking he must have seen it wrong. Or maybe Chi Xingge had added an extra zero by mistake?

Could villains really be this rich? Casually transferring millions like it’s nothing?

Another text for another million transfer followed.

Now with the money sent, Chi Xingge spoke with even more confidence: “Alright, princess, don’t be mad anymore. How about a video call instead? You can hold your phone and show me. I promise I won’t record it.”

His tone was laced with obvious sarcasm, teasing words dripping from his lips. Yu Zao clenched his fists but, eyeing the freshly credited money, didn’t dare to flare up, fearing Chi Xingge might stop sending more.

Yu Zao knocked on 0926’s door, muttering: “His mouth is so annoying!”

She reluctantly opened the video call.

0926: “…”

Chi Xingge was indeed insufferable.

In the original plot, Quan Lushen’s did bad things and plotted, but at least he had reasons. Chi Xingge, on the other hand, simply couldn’t stand seeing others happy.

Chi Xingge had never even met Chu Xi and had no connection with Jiang Cai; they’d only crossed paths at a few business events, and they had no real conflict.

He just thought life was too boring and wanted to stir things up for fun. Making others miserable made him happy.

If that’s not being a troublemaker, what is?

Holding her phone, Yu Zao struggled with the angle, so she brought over a phone stand. The camera wobbled as she adjusted it.

“What’s going on, princess? What are you doing?” Chi Xingge teased.

“Wait a minute, I’m setting up the stand,” Yu Zao said. “The photos are on the other phone, it’s hard to manage.”

Chi Xingge settled back in his car, pressing a button to raise the privacy partition: “Alright, alright, take your time, princess. Your humble servant will wait patiently.”

Yu Zao’s face and ears flushed red.

He pursed his lips and ignored him.

As the screen finally stabilized, Yu Zao, though slightly annoyed, kept her frustration in check, as if holding something back. Her small expressions shifted quickly in just a short span.

When he was on the phone, he acted arrogantly, almost as if he wanted to ride on Chi Xingge’s neck. But when it came to the video call, face to face, Yu Zao’s courage shrank.

He didn’t even dare to glare directly, looking oddly pitiful.

It made one want to tease him.

Chi Xingge kept saying random things to amuse Yu Zao, watching as his cheeks turned red, his eyelashes fluttering, and his face puffed up with anger. But as soon as Yu Zao saw a deposit of one million hit his account, the once-pursed lips of curled into an uncontrollable smile, his lips arching high with glee.

So amusing.

Chi Xingge felt like he’d found a new toy. Just as he was about to tease Yu Zao more, the phone stand was adjusted. Chi Xingge had been relaxed and playful, but when he saw Yu Zao’s face magnified on the screen, his own smile froze.

The smile slowly faded from his lips.

On the phone screen, Yu Zao’s face nearly filled the whole frame. Even with the distortion from the camera, his features remained flawless, picture-perfect from every angle.

A small, upturned nose, slightly rounded eyes due to the close-up, and smooth, delicate skin that seemed like it would spring back if pinched.

Yu Zao sat on the edge of the bed, knees together, looking a bit nervous as he tilted his pale, flushed face upwards, blinking as he looked at Chi Xingge.

Suddenly, Chi Xingge felt uncomfortable.

The stand was a bit high, and with Yu Zao sitting at the edge of the bed, it put Chi Xingge in a position where he was looking down on him, almost like… a boyfriend’s perspective.

Chi Xingge watched as Yu Zao fiddled with his phone, his long eyelashes lowering, still appearing elegant under the light.

His lips weren’t sharply defined but had a slight fullness, with a rosy tint that made them look even more alluring.

“This is what I just took,” Yu Zao said, still tense. It was his first time taking this kind of picture, and he didn’t know how to pose, just sitting there and randomly snapping shots of his legs.

Because of the angle, Yu Zao’s thighs pressed together, creating soft folds. His pink knees were tightly pressed, and his smooth, full legs gleamed under the light.

The photo didn’t show his face, only a glimpse of his sharp chin. Chi Xingge stared at the phone screen, leaning closer without realizing it, as if trying to get a better look at the photo.

Chi Xingge wasn’t playful anymore, nor was he messing around. His intense gaze, as if studying some complex academic problem, made Yu Zao feel embarrassed.

His delicate white fingers trembled as he swiped through the photos, his face turning a faint shade of red.

By the time he reached the end, there were no more photos.

Chi Xingge hadn’t said a word.

Carefully, Yu Zao asked, “Are the photos okay?”

“If you like them, should I send them to Quan Lushen now?”
