Chapter 22

Chapter 22: Damn Fake Merchant!

“May I know what you want to ask of us?” she asked.

Qian Zhi’s gaze was kind: “Come closer.”

Sang Nian was about to take a step, then remembered what Liu Liu said about the S+ danger level, she hesitated and retracted her foot:

“Just tell me, I won’t go. It’s too cold.”

Qian Zhi said softly:

“Don’t be afraid, I won’t harm you. Otherwise, you would have died the moment you stepped in here.”

Xie Chenzhou coldly said: “Speak from where you are.”

Hearing his words, Qian Zhi was stunned for a moment, slowly lifting her eyelids, a complex emotion flashed in her eyes, a mixture of relief, self-mockery, and mostly helplessness.

“Alright, I’m dying, and I can see you, it’s a blessing from heaven.”

Qian Zhi sighed, her wrist flipped, and a milky white light condensed in her palm.

The light ball passed through the ice and slowly flew in front of Xie Chenzhou.

He reached out to catch it and looked at it intently.

The light faded, revealing the thing inside.

It was a fist-sized bird egg.

He wasn’t interested, so he casually handed it to Sang Nian.

Sang Nian looked it over curiously: “What is this?”

“This is my unborn child. Because she was with me in the Ten Thousand Year black ice, she has never hatched.”

Qian Zhi said slowly:

“Five hundred years ago, the Ten Thousand Immortals League  stole her, I had to leave the mountain to chase after her. Although I retrieved her, I lost my freedom, and even more, the Zhuyu clan I guarded…”

She said word by word:

“The entire clan was exterminated.”

Sang Nian: “Did the Ten Thousand Immortals League do it?”

Qian Zhi nodded.

Sang Nian was furious.

Isn’t the Ten Thousand Immortals league a righteous force?

How could they do such a thing.

Xie Chenzhou suddenly asked:

“Zhuyu clan?”

“They are the descendants of the divine race that lived in Xiaohua Mountain.” Qian Zhi said softly, “There are no beings more compassionate and kind in the world than them.”

Xie Chenzhou frowned.

Sang Nian was puzzled, “Why did the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance kill them?”

Qian Zhi was silent for a long time: “I don’t know either.”

Sang Nian carefully put away the red pheasant bird egg and comforted her:

“Don’t worry, Senior, we’ll take good care of your child.”

Qian Zhi: “Thank you.”

“Now that we’ve said what we needed to say,” Xie Chenzhou asked, “When are you going to let us go?”

Qian Zhi’s eyes twitched slightly, and she said softly:

“What’s the rush? Come closer, I have another gift for you, to show my gratitude.”

Sang Nian was about to step forward, but Xie Chenzhou suddenly grabbed her arm and said calmly:

“No need, we just want to leave.”

Qian Zhi stared straight at him, the corners of her lips slowly dropped, and finally, she was expressionless.

The air became quiet.

Sang Nian felt a bad premonition in her heart.

She subconsciously touched the protective artifacts that were hanging around her waist.

If they fought, she should… be able to hold her own, right?

Without warning, a chain suddenly flew out, instantly wrapping her around the ice pillar.

“Bang——!”

She slammed hard onto the ground, her internal organs almost shifted out of place, and she curled up in pain.

Qian Zhi moved her fingers, and in an instant, all the protective artifacts around her waist shattered.

Sang Nian was speechless.

She couldn’t hold her own at all.

Damn fake merchant!

The pressure of a demon king pressed down on her like a mountain, she coughed up a mouthful of blood, her face pale.

Qian Zhi pressed against the ice pillar, her expression crazed:

“Say! Are you willing to offer your body to me!”

Sang Nian refused to speak.

“Then I’ll kill you now!”

Qian Zhi spread her arms, and with a bang, a sea of fire appeared around Sang Nian.

“Clang——!”

A bright sword light cut through the wind, and the chain wrapped around Sang Nian’s ankle made a loud clang, shaking violently.

The young man held the hilt of the sword firmly, his eyes black.

He quickly struck a second blow, the sword energy fell with the force of a hurricane.

Another loud bang.

The chain snapped instantly.

A small vacuum path appeared in the raging fire. Sang Nian didn’t hesitate, she got up and ran out with all her might.

Qian Zhi’s face was contorted, “Don’t try to escape!”

A powerful force struck, and Sang Nian’s body uncontrollably flew backwards. Xie Chenzhou’s eyes twitched, and he grabbed her, switching their positions.

“Bang!”

He slammed into the ice pillar, groaning, and coughed up a mouthful of crimson blood.

The blood splattered on the ice pillar, and Qian Zhi’s body trembled violently, she clutched her head in pain.

Her eyes flickered between clarity and madness, as if someone else was fighting for control of her body.

“He lied to me, he lied to me! I’ll kill all the humans! All humans deserve to die!”

“Five hundred years, five hundred years! Wei Shengyu, you have a cruel heart…”

“Xiao Huashan Mountain is gone, Zhuyu is gone, everything is gone… Don’t stop me! I just want revenge, what’s wrong with me!”

“Clang——”

The chains binding them fell to the ground, and Qian Zhi roared at them:

“Go!”

Sang Nian pulled Xie Chenzhou and desperately ran towards the entrance of the cave.

Behind them, the engraved golden runes hummed in unison, Qian Zhi kept crashing into the ice, her sharp screams and roars intertwined, echoing through the heavens.

The surroundings trembled like an earthquake, the ice blocks on the ceiling fell down, splashing countless ice and snow.

Sang Nian tightly held Xie Chenzhou’s hand, leading him through the ruins that seemed like the end of the world, not daring to stop for a moment.

She turned to Xie Chenzhou and said:

“We will definitely escape safely, don’t be afraid.”

Xie Chenzhou, who was about to break free from her grip, paused.

The next moment, a brilliant golden light shone into the cave.

Sang Nian looked up.

A white-clothed cultivator came riding on a flying sword, tall and slender, his robes fluttering.

The moment his gaze met Sang Nian’s, he pinched a spell with one hand and condensed a burst of energy. Her feet felt light, and she was carried by the wind towards the entrance of the cave.

The moment she left the cave, she couldn’t help but look back.

In front of the ice pillar, the white-clothed cultivator stood with his sword, the sword’s roar like a dragon’s cry.

A strong wind blew, and a golden sword shadow soared into the sky, slashing towards the crazed demon beast with unstoppable force.

Sang Nian could barely breathe.

Is this a sword cultivator?

So… so powerful.

“Boom——!!!”

After the earth-shattering shock, everything returned to calm.

Qian Zhi’s body gradually dissipated.

She slightly tilted her head back, her gaze passed through the void, she didn’t know where it landed.

“Finally… I’m free.”

She suddenly reached out, wanting to grab onto something.

I just want to see you again… my daughter, my… Manman.

A dazzling light flashed, and only dust remained where she stood.

The north wind howled, and the dust scattered.

From then on, love or hate, everything turned to nothing.

By the shore of the ice lake.

Two figures appeared out of thin air, startling a few cold-feathered birds in the trees.

“Bang—”

Sang Nian landed in the snow in a spread-eagle position, she flipped over weakly, wiped the snow off her face, her eyes were blank:

“Finally, we escaped.”

Xie Chenzhou landed lightly, looking at the ice lake, his eyes dark.

Sang Nian took a breath, propped herself up with her arms, and sat up. She rummaged through her storage pouch and found a pile of pills:

“Are you okay? Come over here and take a couple of Nourishing Yuan Pills to replenish your body.”

Xie Chenzhou said lightly:

“Just a minor injury.”

Sang Nian forcefully stuffed the porcelain bottle containing the pills into his hand, and said earnestly:

“Young man, your face looks like you’ve been dead for three days and haven’t been buried yet.”

Xie Chenzhou expressionlessly raised the bottle, tilted his head back, poured the pills in his mouth, and chewed them forcefully.

He has good teeth.

Sang Nian, a professional wisdom tooth patient, was genuinely envious.

She was about to stand up, but a sharp pain shot through her ribs, and she couldn’t help but gasp:

“I think I broke a few ribs.”

Then, she comforted herself, “Luckily it wasn’t my legs, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to escape.”

“Can you give me a hand? Friend.” Finally, she reached out to Xie Chenzhou, “Please.”

Xie Chenzhou pulled her up with a disdainful gesture: “You’re quite optimistic.”

“I’m stating a fact.” Sang Nian grinned, standing firm, “We almost died in there.”

“I wonder who that person was who came to save us,” she sighed, “They were really amazing.”

Xie Chenzhou snorted, “Just so-so.”

“Two Daoists.”

Suddenly, someone spoke from behind.

The voice was as beautiful as jade.
