Chapter 33
Chapter 33: You have to show your wounds, Xie Chenzhou
Sang Nian scratched her head: “I don’t seem to feel anything.”
She asked Xie Chenzhou, “What about you?”
Xie Chenzhou’s face had returned to normal, he shook his head and said nothing.
She just thought he was still sulking with her, she pursed her lips and asked the Second Elder:
“May I ask your name?”
The Second Elder said: “I am the Second Elder of the Xiaoyao sect, Hengyang, in charge of the Baohua Peak.”
Sang Nian politely greeted him: “Greetings, Elder Hengyang.”
The Second Elder smiled, it could be called benevolent, “Come on, let’s go to the Xiaoyao sect Grand Hall, everyone else is already there.”
Sang Nian nodded and said okay.
The Second Elder wanted to show off in front of her, to lay the groundwork for taking her as a disciple later, he deliberately took an unusual path, using a spell to create a cloud.
“Get on,” he said, “I’ll let it take you.”
“Thank you, Elder,” Sang Nian carefully stepped onto the cloud, she plucked up her courage and jumped, the feeling under her feet was very solid, she exclaimed, “It’s more stable than flying on a sword.”
The Second Elder stroked his beard with pride, and said to Xie Chenzhou:
“Little friend, you should get on too.”
Xie Chenzhou silently walked to Sang Nian’s side.
The cloud rose into the air, flying towards the magnificent Grand Hall in the distance.
On the ground, the Second Elder withdrew his gaze from the distance, stood with his hands behind his back and looked in another direction:
“You’ve been following all the way, aren’t you tired?”
The wind froze for a moment, Yan Yuan landed gracefully.
“Can’t you let go?” The Second Elder was helpless.
“She’s Jing Xian’s daughter.” Yan Yuan said softly.
The Second Elder disagreed: “Nonsense, Jing Xian never had a partner, how could she have a daughter? I think she must be a reincarnation.”
Yan Yuan rubbed his temples, “You can have a daughter even without a partner.”
Seeing his appearance, the Second Elder’s eyelids twitched:
“…Is she yours?”
Yan Yuan was silent for a few seconds, then said: “My senior sister doesn’t like me.”
The Second Elder scratched his head, “That’s true, she was fine before she left the Xiaoyao sect, she could only have children after that.”
After a long while, Yan Yuan said:
“The young man beside Sang Nian cannot enter the Xiaoyao sect.”
The Second Elder: “He has passed the assessment, there’s no reason to stop him from entering.”
“You know better than anyone whether he passed or not.”
Yan Yuan raised his eyes and looked at the ancient stone bridge, the water was surging, almost covering his voice, “That bridge, it didn’t recognize him.”
The Second Elder laughed:
“As long as he can stand in the Grand Hall, no matter how he crossed the bridge, he will become a disciple of the Xiaoyao sect, that’s the rule, no one can change it.”
Yan Yuan: “Why are you so protective of him?”
The Second Elder said: “It’s rare to see someone who can endure the pain of a thousand cuts and remain expressionless.”
“Cultivating such a person with evil intentions will only cause trouble.” Yan Yuan said coldly.
The Second Elder sighed deeply and patted Yan Yuan’s shoulder:
“If he really has evil intentions and there’s no cure, he will never be able to cross that bridge.”
“Since he crossed the bridge, why not give him a chance? Evil people aren’t born evil, and good people aren’t born good.”
Yan Yuan remained silent.
On the cloud.
It was just the two of them, Sang Nian pulled Xie Chenzhou’s sleeve, wanting to review the reason for their argument:
“Are you still angry?”
Xie Chenzhou pulled his sleeve back.
Sang Nian grinned: “I really don’t understand why you’re angry, tell me.”
Xie Chenzhou forcibly suppressed the churning blood in his body, expressionless: “You let Shen Mingchao call you Sang Nian.”
Sang Nian was full of question marks: “Yes? What’s wrong?”
Xie Chenzhou said in a heavier tone: “You let him call you Sang Nian.”
Sang Nian didn’t understand why he cared so much about this, “It’s just a name, can you stop being unreasonable.”
Xie Chenzhou suddenly vomited a mouthful of hot blood.
Sang Nian was stunned.
Help, Xie Chenzhou is…He was… vomited blood by her?!
Oh my god, this guy’s mental fortitude is so fragile!
Sang Nian supported Xie Chenzhou, whose body was swaying, and stammered:
“Are you okay?”
Xie Chenzhou covered his chest, nonchalant:
“I’m fine.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he vomited another mouthful of blood.
Sang Nian’s scalp tingled, “Brother, your body temperature is cold.”
Xie Chenzhou wiped the blood from his lips and only asked:
“Why did you let him call you by your nickname?”
Sang Nian was completely exasperated, “It’s a time like this, can we stop dwelling on this issue?”
Xie Chenzhou: “You just met Shen Mingchao.”
This person was really persistent.
Sang Nian’s head was buzzing:
“Didn’t we agree to hide our identities? I definitely can’t tell him my full name is Sang Yunling, I even specifically told Chu Yao and the others, from now on I’ll be called Sang Nian to the outside world.”
Xie Chenzhou: “…Is that all?”
Sang Nian: “Of course, and strictly speaking, my nickname is Nian Nian, only my brother calls me that.”
Xie Chenzhou was silent.
Sang Nian finally understood, her eyes widened, she asked with no confidence:
“Xie Chenzhou, you—wouldn’t be jealous, would you?”
Xie Chenzhou covered his mouth and coughed twice: “Ha, that’s impossible.”
That’s right, after all, his favorability is still negative ten thousand.
How could he possibly be jealous because of her.
Sang Nian shook her head, “What’s wrong with you? Can you hold on until the Grand Hall?”
Xie Chenzhou’s gaze was gloomy, he didn’t answer.
Sang Nian carefully recalled.
He hadn’t been injured along the way, the only possibility was—
She blurted out, “Is it that bridge?!”
A hint of mockery spread across Xie Chenzhou’s brows:
“I have all seven sins, my hands are stained with blood, I’m burdened with killing karma, such a person deserves to go to hell, how can he be worthy of entering the immortal sect?”
Breaking bones and tendons, a thousand cuts.
The Second Elder’s words were still ringing in her ears.
So he had been…
Sang Nian couldn’t believe it: “Are you a ninja?”
Xie Chenzhou frowned: “What is a ninja?”
Sang Nian really wanted to pry open his skull and see if the nerves that control pain didn’t exist.
“Don’t you hurt?” she asked him.
“I won’t die.” Xie Chenzhou said.
“I asked if you hurt.” Sang Nian raised her voice slightly, “Answer my question.”
Xie Chenzhou was stunned.
After a long time, he said softly:
“A little, just a little.”
Sang Nian stuffed the painkillers she had found into his mouth, she was exasperated:
“You have to show your wounds, every time you hide them so tightly, how will others know if you’re in pain or not?”
Xie Chenzhou swallowed the medicine, his voice cold as frost:
“I don’t need others to know, that’s what weak people do.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a sweet plum candy appeared in his mouth.
He was stunned, it took him a long time to react, he looked a little silly:
“What are you doing?”
Sang Nian said matter-of-factly:
“Your mouth is bitter after taking medicine, eating a candy will make it less bitter.”
Xie Chenzhou pursed his lips, after a long while he said:
“Unnecessary.”
Sang Nian said: “It’s gratitude.”
Xie Chenzhou was puzzled.
Sang Nian: “You gave me your blood when I was sick, and thanks to that, I was able to climb up from the bottom of the mountain instead of dying halfway from illness, I’m very grateful to you.”
“Grateful?” Xie Chenzhou raised an eyebrow, “That’s rare, to hear those two words from you, Miss Sang.”
Sang Nian shrugged:
“Anyway, whether you believe it or not, I really want to be good to you.”
Xie Chenzhou was holding the plum candy, the corners of his mouth slowly curled up a little, but he quickly suppressed the upward curve, his voice tinged with disdain:
“Who cares.”
Ding~ Xie Chenzhou’s favorability +500
