Chapter 34
Chapter 34: I have a bad temper and I’m very rude
Ahead was the golden peak of the Xiaoyao sect.
The cloud slowly descended, and when it landed, it dissipated into a wisp of blue smoke.
Xie Chenzhou was already fine, Sang Nian let go of his hand with relief, straightened her collar, and looked up at the magnificent hall in front of her.
Her gaze was drawn to a giant stone beside the hall.
It was engraved with a few lines of large characters, the writing was vigorous.
“Don’t Challenge”
“Afraid of Victory”
“Difficulty”
“ Difficulty”
“This is our Xiaoyao sect’s motto.”
Su Xueyin and Chu Yao appeared from somewhere, walked to her side, and introduced it intimately.
“Don’t challenge, afraid of victory, difficult, difficult?”
Sang Nian praised:
“It’s truly the motto of the Xiaoyao sect, it’s very unique.”
Xie Chenzhou raised an eyebrow.
Chu Yao seemed to have heard a joke, she laughed until her stomach hurt.
Su Xueyin awkwardly said: “It’s overcome difficulties, challenge difficulties, don’t be afraid of difficulties.”
Sang Nian: “…”
Well, she’d patted the horse’s leg instead of its head.
Chu Yao held back a laugh, “I think your motto is better than this.”
Sang Nian held her forehead: “Stop joking around.”
Su Xueyin smiled sweetly:
“Congratulations to you and Master Xie for passing the selection, we’ll be fellow disciples from now on, I’ll take good care of you.”
Sang Nian: “Hehe, thank you.”
“Let’s go, enter the hall,” Chu Yao put her arm around her shoulder, and asked as they walked, “Have you decided who you want to be your master?”
Sang Nian: “Can I choose my master?”
Chu Yao: “Others can’t, but you probably can.”
Sang Nian: “Why?”
“I don’t really know either,” Chu Yao said, “Maybe because you performed so well?”
“Anyway, when I came out, I heard several elders say they wanted to take you as a disciple, my master even specifically told us two to blow some wind in your ear, how about it, do you want to be our younger sister?”
She pointed at Xie Chenzhou with her chin, “And this pretty boy, I can reluctantly let him be my junior brother.”
Xie Chenzhou: “Ha.”
Sang Nian: “Who is your master?”
Su Xueyin said: “It’s the First Elder, he’s in charge of all the libraries in the Xiaoyao sect.”
Sang Nian suddenly understood: “No wonder you know about my brother donating two libraries.”
Su Xueyin smiled shyly and introduced:
“There are twelve elders in the Xiaoyao sect , except for the Sect Master who no longer takes disciples, the elders usually choose three to five people from among you to be their true disciples, true disciples have higher status and more resources than inner and outer disciples.”
“The most senior is our master, the First Elder, if you become his disciple, it will definitely be beneficial to your future cultivation.”
After listening to her explanation, Sang Nian fell into deep thought.
In the original book, Xie Chenzhou was taken in by the Second Elder, this time it would probably be the same, would she be a disciple of the same master as him?
Near water, first to get the moon.
If she’s closer to him, the mission should be much smoother, right?
Thinking this, they walked into the hall.
In an instant, countless gazes fell upon them.
Sang Nian quickly glanced at the situation in the hall.
The twelve elders sat at the top, a huge and luxurious throne was placed in the center, the seat was empty, probably only the Sect Master was qualified to sit there.
Below, there were neatly lined up over a hundred Xiaoyao sect disciples, the leader was Wen Buyu.
And a little ahead of them, the seven who had passed the new student selection stood with their hands down, a little awkward.
Chu Yao whispered: “These are all the true and inner disciples currently staying in the sect, outer disciples aren’t qualified to come here.”
Sang Nian nodded and walked over to the seven people.
There were three men and four women, they were all young, they looked at her and Xie Chenzhou with curiosity, whispering to each other.
“Didn’t she fall off the cliff? Why is she here?”
“Yeah, did an elder save her?”
“Is this considered favoritism? If it was anyone else, they would have been eliminated.”
“That’s right, she’s dressed so well, she probably got in through the back door, she must have connections.”
“That”
Sang Nian coughed, showing them her eight pearly white teeth:
“I climbed up myself, I did it fair and square, no elder helped me.”
They were stunned, then they sneered.
No one believed her.
“You can disbelieve me, but don’t spread rumors.” Sang Nian said politely, “Otherwise, I’ll beat you up, I have a bad temper and I’m very rude.”
They froze, silently moved a few steps to the side, standing far away from her.
…
Chu Yao and Su Xueyin also returned to their own ranks.
“Is everyone here?” The First Elder cleared his throat and said in a loud voice, “Then, the Xiaoyao sect new disciple entry ceremony will now begin…”
“Wait!”
Everyone looked towards the source of the sound.
At the door, Shen Mingchao rushed in, he didn’t know whether he was too tired or too nervous, he tripped and stumbled all the way, shouting loudly:
“Me too! I’m also a new disciple of the Xiaoyao sect!”
This appearance was so comical that everyone burst into laughter.
Shen Mingchao stood to Sang Nian’s left, where several people had moved away, he was panting heavily, and said to the First Elder:
“We, can begin.”
Seeing this, the First Elder’s serious face showed a hint of a smile:
“Then the new disciple entry ceremony will now begin.”
The ancient bell hanging high above the dome rang, everyone quickly composed themselves, holding their breath.
Amid the solemnity, several disciples carried up wooden trays, the trays held silver waist tokens, the front was engraved with the three characters Xiaoyao sect and the sect emblem, the back was blank.
Sang Nian and the others each reached out and took one.
The First Elder said: “Silently recite your name in your heart.”
Sang Nian did as she was told.
Suddenly, the waist token burned her palm.
She flipped it over and saw that the blank back had two words, her name, Sang Nian.
The others had the same scene.
“This is your proof as a disciple of the Xiaoyao sect, remember to keep it safe and don’t lose it.” The First Elder said, “If you encounter fellow disciples while traveling outside, be sure to help each other.”
Except for Xie Chenzhou, the nine new disciples were exceptionally excited, they all said in unison:
“We will follow the elder’s teachings!”
The First Elder waved his sleeve, ten glass lamps appeared out of thin air, suspended in front of them.
“This is the life lamp, blood is the wick, when the person dies, the lamp goes out.”
He explained:
“If you meet with an accident, the sect will know immediately and send someone to collect your body.”
The new disciples looked at each other, a girl asked softly: “Won’t they avenge us?”
The First Elder said kindly: “If you die an unnatural death, they will.”
She shut her mouth silently.
“Now, drop a drop of blood into it, light the life lamp.”
Everyone pricked their fingertips.
Sang Nian couldn’t bear to do it, she handed the dagger to Xie Chenzhou, “You do it, just cut a small opening, a tiny one.”
Xie Chenzhou frowned, the tip of the knife slowly pierced into her soft fingertip, a drop of crimson blood slowly gathered.
He often used to cut off people’s fingers at the root, or directly sever the tendons in their palms, his knife was fast and steady.
This was the first time he had picked up a knife without a hint of killing intent.
He awkwardly rubbed his fingertips, then stepped back.
Sang Nian squeezed a drop of blood and dropped it into the glass lamp.
It didn’t light.
Sang Nian: “?”
She squeezed another drop.
The lamp exploded.
Sang Nian: “!”
