Chapter 530: In Books Are Graceful Ladies

It was because Fairy Fengya was her long-standing foe that she cared so much.

She was constantly changing her moves in an attempt to kill her. After that, she wanted to piss her off, torment her, yet still couldn’t help but eagerly run to her first.

Initially, she wanted to kill her, and later on, to torment her. Eventually, it evolved into a desire to make Fairy Fengya fall in love with her, to shake her emotions and prevent her from ascending. Thinking it over carefully, Ye Wenxin realized how possessive she was.

“Even after my advice, you still haven’t realized your feelings?” Wen Susu sat high in the air, bathed in moonlight, which lent her body a frosty glow. However, this beauty held no meaning in Ye Wenxin’s eyes. She clenched her fists, still trying hard to make sense of everything.

“You like her. You’re too used to it, so you’ve taken it for granted.” Wen Susu’s voice echoed in her mind. Ye Wenxin’s body jolted as if uncontrollably influenced by this thought.

At the same time, a sharp pain once again struck Ye Wenxin’s back, pulling her back to reality. When she looked again, Wen Susu was sneakily trying to take her Colored Flag. Ye Wenxin’s face darkened. “It seems you’re still not behaving.”

The blue Colored Flag left her hand, and Wen Susu screamed, desperately trying to dodge its attack to no avail. A water lion materialized to press Wen Susu down. Her dark blue clothes began to turn transparent, threatening to reveal a completely different scene beneath them.

Her body subtly trembled as fear and unease gripped her. She feared Ye Wenxin might do something beastly. However, the other person was just a book, and Ye Wenxin was not that degenerate. She looked at Wen Susu’s pitiful expression, and after a thought, she commanded the water lion to pull back.

The water lion obediently sat on its haunches, awaiting further commands. Wen Susu’s fear deepened, and she yelled, “I don’t want to end up like the others!”

Ye Wenxin sneered. “Don’t worry, you’re not even qualified right now. I’m just going to take you for a little fun. Show you the true meaning of being a Heavenly Book.” She took out a specially-made rope from her bag of holding, tied up Wen Susu, slung her over her shoulder, and headed toward the pond.

The Heavenly Book’s presence slowly dispersed the surrounding mist. Wen Susu struggled urgently, terrified that Ye Wenxin would rip out her pages and make her more incomplete. She was even more terrified Ye Wenxin would do to her the same things she did to other women in her memories.

Despite her fear, Wen Susu looked disappointed when Ye Wenxin didn’t do anything. But that disappointment soon faded and turned into shame.

She was hung on a tree above the pond. At the same time, Ye Wenxin stood at the side reciting Buddhist falsehoods, trying to persuade Wen Susu to be more positive. Although she was a Demon Lord, the alternate character Ye Wenxin had been losing more and more of her Demon Lord-ness.

Wen Susu felt even more miserable when she saw a few flying piranhas in the water, also constructs created with the blue Colored Flag. It was a form of mental torment, and Ye Wenxin found this punishment much more effective than any pleasures of the flesh.

Wen Susu’s nerves were stretched thin. On one hand, she was scared of falling into the water and getting eaten by piranhas. On the other, she had to endure the torturous sound of Buddhist chanting. She couldn’t relax under the dual torment.

After an hour passed, a black mist began to seep out of Wen Susu’s body, as if the chanting had cleansed the darkness in her heart.

The red Colored Flag could summon fire, the blue one could summon water, and the black Colored Flag could control the weather and do magic. Ye Wenxin pulled out the black Colored Flag, preparing to summon a few lightning bolts to disperse the lingering dark energy.

But the black Colored Flag suddenly transformed into the black furball, her shiny black eyes staring straight at Ye Wenxin, as if trying to convey something.

However, Ye Wenxin couldn’t understand furball language, and Ghost Mother, the usual translator, was not there. So she could only say, “Do as you see fit.”

The black furball let out a “meow”. Her entire body began to swell like a balloon before she quickly chased down the Yin energy and swallowed it whole. She then displayed a satisfied expression. A symbol resembling the character for “Alpha” appeared on her forehead, and those once-cute eyes gained sharpness. Because they were so small, however, it wasn’t very noticeable.

Ye Wenxin stroked the black furball while turning her focus to Wen Susu. She was still panting, as if the purification had drained a lot out of her. Ye Wenxin waved her hand at Sword Ghost. Wen Susu had just started to relax until Sword Ghost cut the rope.

She let out a pitiful scream.

Ye Wenxin caught her steadily with one hand before she could fall into the pond. In her original form, Ye Wenxin looked stunningly beautiful. She smiled at Wen Susu and said, “What’s this? The all-knowing Heavenly Book can still feel fear?”

Hearing Ye Wenxin’s mocking words, Wen Susu regained some composure. “If I were truly all-knowing, I wouldn’t have ended up like this.”

She stubbornly stared at Ye Wenxin, who smiled softly, “You’ve yet to admit your mistake.” To put it plainly, Ye Wenxin still held a grudge over Wen Susu’s claim that she had feelings for Fairy Fengya. If the Heavenly Book had gaps in her knowledge, logically, she couldn’t be 100% correct either.

What Wen Susu had said earlier was included in that 1% margin of error.

Wen Susu sighed. “Why are you so stubborn? It is fate.”

This sentence struck a sensitive nerve in Ye Wenxin. She held no belief in fate or destiny—she only believed in herself. If this world didn’t have so many unknowns, she wouldn’t have gone through the trouble of seeking out Wen Susu, the Heavenly Book. But hearing the Heavenly Book talk about trusting in fate now? She was becoming more convinced Wen Susu’s words were untrustworthy.

Ye Wenxin loosened her grip and carelessly tossed Wen Susu into the nearby bushes.

Wen Susu let out a pathetic groan, her eyes still holding a faint trace of sorrow.

“Forget it. Let today’s events remain a secret between us. If there’s a next time, I’ll rip off your book cover.”

Ye Wenxin adamantly believed Wen Susu was wrong, but that didn’t mean she deserved to die. She decided not to dwell on it. She had asked all the important questions. Rather than obsessing over the truthfulness, she was better off leaving this cursed place, finding the real Asuka, and finishing her business in Liu City.
