Chapter 114: Mr. Fu, Are You Satisfied?
Among the crowd, it was Shixun who reacted first. After all, he had been a top star for many years and was exceptionally sensitive to the camera.
In the living room, the cameras operated by staff caught him casually walking over, dressed in a shirt and shorts as if he were headed to Hawaii for a vacation, greeting the audience.
“I’m Shixun, long time no see!”
As soon as the audience saw his lazy yet stunning face, comments flooded in, and the director team behind the scenes trembled, fearing the live stream wouldn’t hold up.
“Oh my! Isn’t this my ex-husband?”
“Shixun, I said you haven’t had any new works lately turns out you’ve been busy fishing after getting married.”
Shixun’s marriage to Yemi was no secret. Given his past character, it would have been more surprising if he had managed to keep it hidden than to announce his marriage to the world.
He had been focused on acting in films for the past few years, so his marriage as an actor was not particularly sensitive. Plus, when Yemi recorded the show with him, they attracted quite a few ship fans, making the marriage even more expected.
“Childhood sweethearts variety show couple wealthy family marriage who wouldn’t ship this top star rookie designer combo? Welcome to our fanbase!”
“Is there really that much of a buff? If so, I’m going archaeology!”
After greeting everyone, Shixun skillfully sat down at the dining table, where a servant served him a new set of utensils.
“Why aren’t you having breakfast at home, Uncle?” Little Jing curiously asked.
Shixun stuffed a fried egg into his mouth. “Breakfast? What’s breakfast? We never have it at home.”
Ruan li, sitting nearby, explained, “Your uncle and aunt are both firmly against eating breakfast and love sleeping in. Nowadays, young people skip breakfast too only your dad is sticking to a healthy routine.”
Shixun nodded in agreement. He had recently developed a love for fishing and would often come to Yuyuan to grab a bite of breakfast.
At this moment, the audience began to react.
“Before we talk about the shipping and marriage, can someone explain the relationships in this family?”
“Maybe Ruan li recognized Shixun as an older brother, since they’ve always been in the same company.”
“Speaking of which, it seems like LZ Entertainment has only had two artists all these years. Mr. Fu must have foreseen his future life back then.”
“What does LZ mean? Lychee? Does that mean Shixun doesn’t count?”
Among the many comments, one quickly rose to the top.
“The workers who depend on the boss’s wife for their year end bonus ‘It’s not lychee, it’s Lichao, Mr. Fu’s name’”
Some people then commented differently, “This actually makes a lot of sense. So isn’t Shixun a tool?”
Ruan li was focused on eating, occasionally correcting Little Jing’s chopstick grip. When her phone vibrated several times, she saw it was a message from Chen Jing.
She was asking her to explain their relationship on camera. Because Ruan li had been pregnant and given birth twice over the past few years, and Shixun had faded from the spotlight due to his marriage, there had been no opportunity or need to explain their relationship to social media.
Chen Jing “Do you know how many rumors about you and Shixun I’ve dealt with in the past two years?”
Ruan li was a bit confused. “How would I not know?”
“Because there haven’t been many. They occasionally popped up, but I didn’t bother you.”
Ruan li turned off the screen and pointed at the person casually eating breakfast at the dining table.
“As you can see, this seemingly dim witted person he’s my brother.”
Hearing her voice, Shixun lazily added, “Biological brother, not a step-brother.”
Ruan li continued to explain, “There were rumors that I was an orphan; I was indeed at one time, but not anymore. I have found my biological family, and Shixun is one of my two brothers.”
“??? When did you two become siblings? I thought you were childhood friends.”
“What a sin I used to ship you two. So awkward!”
“Lovers become siblings, a gift for your previous shippers.”
Ruan li noticed the real-time comments rolling on her phone, and Fu Huaizhou, sitting next to her, also saw them. He frowned and asked her, “What does CP fan mean?”
“Mr. Fu doesn’t even know what it means? Looks like there’s still an age gap,” someone commented.
“Mr. Fu stepped into the entertainment industry just for Ruan li, yet he’s still a novice about this stuff. I’m dying of laughter.”
The abbreviation seemed to have become quite popular in online discussions over the past few years, and he had always thought it referred to a type of new fan, similar to work fans, anti-fans, or stalker fans.
If Ruan li knew he thought like that, she would be relieved he didn’t say it out loud could stalker fans even be considered fans? Even if he was the president of Fu Corporation, he would still be subjected to online harassment.
“CP stands for couple, referring to fans who sometimes identify two people as a couple,” Little Jing explained, her cheeks puffed with food.
“Couple.” Fu Huaizhou repeated the word and glanced at Shixun, who had just been mentioned, his expression darkening slightly.
“Don’t play with electronic devices.” His gaze swept over the happily munching Little Jing.
Ruan li could tell by Fu Huaizhou’s expression that he was about to say something jealous, so she quickly clarified, “No need to ask I have one with you too, and it’s a lot.”
“Mr. Fu, are you satisfied?” she said with a playful smile, looking at the man beside her.
“Mm.” Fu Huaizhou’s previously dark expression brightened instantly.
The comments were soon flooded with “hahaha,” as no one expected the usually calm and collected Mr. Fu to not only be a doting father at home but also a jealous one.
“Rest assured, Mr. Fu, I’ll protect your couple ship.”
“Don’t worry, organization our Mary Sue couple is already the American dream of the couple world.”
“Rest assured, Mr. Fu with this performance, I’ve decided to become a member of the CP fan club right now.”
Just over an hour into the broadcast, the online viewership and play counts for Ruan li’s side had already reached new heights, practically remaining at the top of trending searches without ever dropping.
After breakfast, Ruan li had to leave for work, while Little Jing followed Shixun to go fishing. As for Lingying, she was naturally carried off to the company by her dad.
The production team switched to two outdoor live camera feeds, revealing two completely different scenes on one side, life was peaceful.
Lingying was placed on the office sofa, playing with her dolls while Fu Huaizhou sat at his desk handling documents, both of them undisturbed.
On the other side, a big and a small figure, both wearing sun hats, sat by the lake, each holding a fishing rod. Within a few minutes, Little Jing had already excitedly shouted, “Uncle, look at me!”
Shixun glanced at the silly fish that had bitten his line and his own rod, which remained still, feeling a bit disgruntled. “It’s just a beginner’s luck.”
No sooner had he finished speaking than Little Jing’s fishing rod began to shake up and down again.
Meanwhile, someone nearby was already on the phone, Shixun angrily said, “Third brother, I will never fish with your son again, never!”
