Chapter 157: This girl, she looks like her mother!

“As Lin Shuxue was pulled out of the office building, she still had a hint of displeasure on her face. “Second brother, we finally came to see Brother Chuan, why are you leaving so soon?”

Lin Haonan sighed and looked at her. “Before we came, how did you promise me? You said you had no feelings for Jinchuan  anymore and wouldn’t bother him, that’s why I brought you here.”

Lin Shuxue pouted in defiance. “But didn’t you also agree to have Zhou Jinchuan as your brother-in-law before? Why is it not okay now?”

Lin Haonan was speechless with anger. “Before? Before Jinchuan  didn’t have a partner, but now he’s already applied for a marriage. How can it be the same?”

“What’s the difference? Didn’t you just say his marriage hasn’t been approved yet, and it’s not going smoothly. Who knows if it will be approved in the end?”

Lin Haonan sneered. “You don’t understand him. Once he’s set on something, he’ll make it happen, it’s just a matter of time!”

Without waiting for Lin Shuxue’s response, Lin Haonan got into the car first.

They drove out of the compound and into town. As they passed through town, they happened to see a guesthouse on the street.

Lin Shuxue saw it and immediately called for the car to stop. “Second brother, there’s a guesthouse here, why don’t we stay here? That way, we don’t have to go to the county, and you and Brother Chuan can have a good reunion after so long.”

Lin Shuxue was unhappy inside, but she could only agree. “I promise, Second brother. I came here just to see an old friend, and to see his partner by the way. If that girl is truly worthy of Brother Chuan, I won’t say anything.”

Lin Haonan wanted to say that it wasn’t up to her to decide who was worthy or not, but thinking about his sister’s stubborn personality, he knew she wouldn’t listen, so he gave up.

They went to the guesthouse and checked into a room. Then they went back to the county to pick up their luggage.

This back and forth wasted some time, and it was almost noon.

While in town, Lin Shuxue had already seen the Ruyi Sichuan Cuisine restaurant that the Bai family had mentioned.

She had been eager to rush over and see what Zhou Jinchuan’s woman looked like, but the timing wasn’t right.

Now it was almost noon, so Lin Shuxue, without a word, declared that she was hungry and wanted to go eat lunch.

Lin Haonan had to put aside his work for the time being and take her to eat in town. He originally planned to take her to the state-owned restaurant.

But Lin Shuxue led him directly to the Ruyi Sichuan Cuisine restaurant. “Second brother, I saw this restaurant on the way here. The state-owned restaurant doesn’t have anything good to eat, why don’t we try Sichuan food?”

Lin Haonan loved spicy food, so he didn’t mind.

However, he found Lin Shuxue’s behavior a bit strange. “Didn’t you say you can’t eat spicy food?”

Without waiting for Lin Haonan to refuse, she pulled him inside.

Although it wasn’t noon yet, there were already quite a few diners in the Ruyi Sichuan Cuisine restaurant.

After sitting down, Lin Haonan first looked around, then looked at the menu. He seemed surprised that such a remote town would have such a clean and unique restaurant.

He ordered two dishes and then asked Lin Shuxue, “Is there anything you want to add?”

Lin Shuxue had been secretly observing the people in the restaurant, trying to find the boss, Su Yi, that the Bai family had mentioned.

She saw Xu Xiaoqin handing her the menu and stared at her with a strange expression.

She didn’t think it was her, so she casually flipped through the menu.

Xu Xiaoqin saw her looking at her like that and was a little unhappy, but she still patiently said, “Comrade, have you decided?”

Lin Shuxue was urged and impatiently flipped through the menu, glancing at it a few times.

She said with a hint of disdain, “Are all the dishes here the same flavor? Why are they all spicy?”

Xu Xiaoqin rolled her eyes internally, thinking, If you can’t eat spicy food, why are you eating Sichuan food?

Before Xu Xiaoqin could finish, Lin Shuxue interrupted. “Second brother, I want to try the boiled pork slices. I wonder if it’s possible to make it without chili peppers?”

Xu Xiaoqin was taken aback and could only say, “I’ll go ask the kitchen.”

After going to the kitchen, Xu Xiaoqin immediately told Su Yi what had just happened.

“I feel like that woman isn’t here to eat, she’s here to cause trouble. As soon as she came in, she looked around everywhere and asked if the boiled pork slices could be made without chili peppers.”

Su Yi paused after hearing this, then untied his apron. “I understand. I’ll go explain to her.”

Then, he took the unfinished order and walked out.

Lin Haonan was trying to persuade his sister. If she didn’t want to eat anything, they could just go to another restaurant.

Just as he finished speaking, he was about to stand up and apologize to the waiter.

But as he glanced at the kitchen, he saw a different girl walking out.

The moment the curtain was lifted, Lin Haonan froze in place.

After going back yesterday, Lin Haonan couldn’t help but keep recalling the moment their eyes met.

Besides her figure and features, it was the girl’s eyes that made him feel most familiar.

He thought about it all night, but he couldn’t figure out who she resembled.

The moment she appeared from behind the curtain, Lin Haonan suddenly remembered.
