Chapter 13 Jiang Tiantian, Really Sweet.
Jiang Wansheng actually didn’t want to go in. Qin Mo was emitting a strong aura of aggression, making it hard for her to catch her breath.
But Qin Mo had already walked in, so she had no choice but to follow.
Qin Mo casually said, “There are disposable slippers in the shoe cabinet.”
Jiang Wansheng obediently changed into them.
By the time she finished changing, the man was already seated on the sofa, his dark eyes fixed on her without blinking.
Feeling even more uncomfortable, she forced herself to walk over to the sofa.
What was he looking at?
There was nothing strange about her outfit today.
“How’s the injury?” a deep voice sounded.
It was the injury she sustained on Monday night, four days had passed, and she could walk without any issues now.
“It’s scabbing, doesn’t affect walking.”
Qin Mo lowered his gaze, “Let me see.”
?
“H-How do you want to see?” Jiang Wansheng was a bit caught off guard.
Qin Mo chuckled and pulled over a low stool, placing it by her feet.
“Step on it, let me see.”
“I-I don’t think that’s necessary…”
“Be obedient.” Qin Mo’s tone brooked no argument.
She bent her leg, placing her foot on the stool.
She watched as Qin Mo’s delicate and handsome hands slowly pulled down her white sock, revealing her fair ankle.
The almost imperceptible touch, like a gentle hook, lightly tugged at her heartstrings, making her earlobes feel warm.
The man’s large hand held her foot, turning it slightly.
His sharp black eyes focused intently on the light brown wound.
From her angle looking at him, the fluent and taut muscle lines of his body pushed against the home outfit, creating an attractive curve.
With the collar hanging down, the slightly protruding abdomen covered by the clothes seemed distinctly outlined.
This man was too provocative.
She quickly looked away.
The warmth of the man’s palm, his thumb lightly touching the wound, made her flinch.
The man tightened his grip, “Be still, don’t move.”
It felt like she was stepping on his hand.
This realization made her earlobes even warmer.
After some time, she softly asked, “Is it okay now?”
Qin Mo responded with a “Hmm,” pulling up her sock, “Looks like you’ve been changing the dressing on time.”
As he released his hand and stepped back, he exuded a detached demeanor, as if the subtle ambiguity just now had nothing to do with him.
Jiang Wansheng lowered her head and adjusted her sock, smoothing out a few folds before letting it go.
Qin Mo frowned at her actions, “Why are you pulling it down?”
He genuinely seemed puzzled.
She found it a bit amusing, “It looks better this way, the sock is designed like this.”
Afraid he wouldn’t believe her, she even stood up and crossed her feet, “See, this way looks a bit better than pulling it straight, right?”
Qin Mo looked, and a low, husky laugh escaped his throat, “Looks good.”
She couldn’t help but feel a bit pleased.
Qin Mo got up to wash his hands at the kitchen island, then came back and opened the wooden box she had brought.
Inside were beautifully crafted flower pastries, delicate and exquisite.
Jiang Wansheng said, “There are four types of flower shapes, each with a different flavor. Can you guess what flower each one represents?”
The girl’s eyes sparkled with tiny lights, and Qin Mo picked up one.
Then lazily said, “Pear blossom?”
She shook her head, “No, guess again.”
Qin Mo smiled, unfazed, “Lotus flower?”
Jiang Wansheng exclaimed, a hint of defeat in her voice, “Ah, does it not look like that at all?”
Qin Mo’s smile deepened, pretending to suddenly realize, “So it’s peach blossom.”
Seeing the mischievous glint in Qin Mo’s eyes, she couldn’t help but ask, “Uncle Mo, why are you teasing me?”
Qin Mo’s cold and sharp eyes softened, taking a bite and swallowing before speaking meaningfully, “Jiang Wansheng, why are you so sweet?”
Jiang Wansheng: “Really? I didn’t put that much sugar, though.”
Qin Mo: “Jiang Sweetie, really sweet.”
?
What did he say?
What Jiang Sweetie?
Her?
“She repeated blankly, ‘Jiang… Sweetie?’
…
Jiang Wansheng was quite startled by this address, and it took him a while to recover when he left.
His voice was pleasant, slightly hoarse, and when he called her, it inexplicably carried a hint of tenderness and… indulgence.
She was taken aback and quickly dismissed such thoughts.
How could that be possible?
He probably just teased her like a child.
—
Jiang Wansheng returned to school and coincidentally met Ling Nan in the cafeteria during dinner.
Ling Nan had just arrived, holding a tray and sitting across from her, “Hey, Jiang.”
Jiang Wansheng looked up politely and smiled, “Senior Ling.”
“Did the junior deliver the things to your elder?” Ling Nan asked.
Jiang Wansheng replied, “Yes, just got back.”
“So, you stayed at your uncle’s house this summer?” Ling Nan inquired.
She looked puzzled, “I stayed on campus.”
She seemed to have mentioned it to him before.
This time, Ling Nan was the one puzzled, “Aren’t you living in the female dormitory building 6?”
She nodded.
“There will be a large-scale circuit maintenance and renovation in Building 6 during the summer. It’s recommended that everyone try not to stay there.” Ling Nan paused, “Didn’t you receive the notice?”
She indeed hadn’t paid attention to recent notices, “When was it sent?”
Ling Nan replied, “Yesterday at noon. Although you can stay if you want, with workers coming and going, it’s not very safe for a girl like you.”
She furrowed her brows, acknowledging Ling Nan’s valid point.
They had discussed summer arrangements in the dormitory, and only Jiang Wansheng chose to stay on campus.
She couldn’t go home; going back would mean facing her parents’ difficult expressions.
But staying here meant she had to find another place to live.
“Well, I might have to rent a place near the campus.” Jiang Wansheng felt a bit of a headache.
Ling Nan reminded her, “You should plan early; there will definitely be many people looking for rentals recently.”
He thought for a moment, “You can check the campus bulletin board for shared accommodation; it’s safer with fellow students.”
Jiang Wansheng expressed her gratitude, “Thank you, senior, I will give it a try.”
Ling Nan reassured her, “No problem.”
Jiang Wansheng nodded.
She was a bit troubled by this sudden news.
If she had to rent a place, it would mean additional expenses, although the scholarships, financial aid, and part-time work earnings over the past three years could support her, it still felt a bit painful.
—
After returning, Jiang Wansheng posted on the bulletin board, looking for roommates to share a place or upperclassmen willing to sublet.
Unfortunately, after a week, she had no luck.
Feeling a bit defeated, she thought about just staying on campus and being extra cautious.
But her dorm mates all advised her to find a place outside.
Qin Weizhao also said she could move in with her at Chongfei Garden.
But Jiang Wansheng declined.
Although she and Qin Weizhao were best friends, it didn’t mean she could enjoy her things without reservation.
Qin Weizhao understood her and didn’t push.
Instead, she called Qin Mo.
It rang for several seconds before he picked up.
“Little uncle, do you have any one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartments near our school that are available?” Qin Weizhao’s voice, lazy and clear, mixed with electricity, came through.
“Don’t want to live in Chongfei Garden anymore?” Qin Mo could probably guess the reason.
“I’m not the one living there; it’s my best friend, Jiang Wansheng.” Qin Weizhao explained in detail.
After a moment of silence, Qin Mo’s voice came through again, “I’ll send you the address later.”
Qin Weizhao’s tone lifted, “Great!”
