Chapter 61
Chapter 61: Long Time No See, Bu Si, You’ve Grown Up a Lot
The two of them followed the direction the Yaowang Valley disciple had gone.
They turned a corner, and another dungeon appeared before them.
The difference was that the cages here were all covered with talismans.
Sang Nian glanced at them and said,
“It’s a talisman that suppresses the operation of spiritual energy.”
It seemed that cultivators were imprisoned here.
She looked at the cages standing in rows, and she had a feeling that Chu Yao and the others must be here.
But as they walked and searched, they couldn’t find Chu Yao and the others.
Just as they were getting anxious, Xie Chenzhou suddenly said,
“There’s another cell.”
He walked to a wall and pressed his hand against a protruding part of the wall.
The wall slowly moved upwards, revealing a dark, narrow chamber behind it.
Xie Chenzhou let go of her and walked ahead, holding a torch.
The firelight dispelled the darkness, and Sang Nian could see the scene inside.
…It was exactly the same.
Everything here was exactly the same as what she had seen in Xie Chenzhou’s past dreams.
The same cold walls, the same dark iron cages.
There seemed to be bloodstains on the ground, accumulated over years.
Xie Chenzhou stood facing away from her, bathed in the backlight.
She couldn’t see his expression.
She only knew that his back was straight and stiff.
Sang Nian pursed her lips, pretending not to notice his unusualness, and whispered to the cage covered with black cloth:
“Chu Yao? Are you in there?”
There was an immediate response from inside:
“Who is it?!”
Sang Nian removed her invisibility spell and lifted the black cloth.
The people imprisoned in the iron cage were none other than the missing Wen Buyu and others.
The puppet that Xiao Zhuochen had created lay in the back, half of its body already turned into quicksand.
Seeing her, Su Xueyin was full of worry:
“Junior Sister Sang, were you captured too? What’s with this puppet?”
“If I were captured, I wouldn’t be standing here now.” Sang Nian said helplessly, “I came to save you.”
“Are you all alright?” she asked everyone.
Wen Buyu shook his head, “We have some minor injuries, but it’s nothing serious.”
“Are you stupid?” Chu Yao said anxiously, “Just the two of you, how are you going to save us? What if you get caught too?”
“It’s not just us, there’s also Xiao Zhuochen.”
Sang Nian tried to remove the talisman on the cage, speaking quickly:
“If things go wrong, he’ll immediately contact the sect.”
Chu Yao noticed her actions and hurriedly shouted:
“Wait, don’t touch that!”
Sang Nian almost stopped, “What’s wrong?”
Chu Yao shook her hand, which was blistered and bleeding, in front of her:
“This thing is like lava, it almost melted my sword.”
Sang Nian had no choice but to try to remove it with her magic.
As soon as her spiritual energy touched the talisman, it was like a stone sinking into the sea. The talisman remained motionless.
Seeing this, Xie Chenzhou, standing beside her, reached out decisively.
Orange-red flames flashed, and the talisman fell off.
Everyone was stunned.
Sang Nian was the first to react and hurried to look at his hand.
Sure enough, his palm was bloody and flesh was torn, the burnt wound was turning outwards, and bones were faintly visible.
He retracted his hand and put it behind his back:
“I’m fine.”
“You’re still fine even after that?” Chu Yao leaned against the cage, her face full of shock, “I can smell the meat.”
Sang Nian hurriedly removed the restriction on the cage:
“Let’s go now?”
Wen Buyu said, “I’ll go save the people outside.”
Sang Nian: “Do we have to do it now? We can go back and get help.”
Wen Buyu shook his head:
“We’ve already alerted them. If we don’t save them now, they may never have another chance to get out.”
Sang Nian didn’t say anything more. She took out medicine and bandages from her storage bag and pulled Xie Chenzhou aside to bandage him.
He still tried to break free of her:
“I told you I’m fine.”
Sang Nian blew gently on his palm.
Xie Chenzhou’s struggling movements stopped.
She seemed to not see his wound automatically healing. She applied the medicine as quickly as possible, wrapping the gauze around and around, covering the wound.
“Done.”
Sang Nian let go of him and turned to bandage Chu Yao.
Chu Yao was still shaken, looking at Xie Chenzhou cautiously:
“Is he really okay? The wound was so scary.”
“He’s fine, this medicine was made by Elder Bi Ke, it’s very effective.”
Sang Nian replied as she skillfully applied the medicine:
“He’ll be fine soon.”
“Then I’ll be fine soon too?” Chu Yao said happily.
Sang Nian smiled at her, “Yes.”
…
Xie Chenzhou stared at his tightly bandaged hand, slightly dazed.
Until Sang Nian and the others finished treating the wounds, she called out to him:
“Let’s go.”
He collected his thoughts, raised his foot and followed behind them, his expression shifting.
Wen Buyu and Su Xueyin were saving the people outside.
They couldn’t remove the talismans, so they simply drew their swords and slashed at the cages.
Sword energy raged, and the cages shook violently.
The cultivators inside, who had been in a daze, gradually regained consciousness.
Seeing the two of them, they weakly pleaded:
“I’m a disciple of the Piaomiao Sect, please send a message to my sect, tell them I’m trapped here.”
“I’m a disciple of the Taiyi Sect.”
“I’m a disciple of the Xianyin Palace.”
…
Wen Buyu comforted them with a few gentle words, while simultaneously delivering the final blow.
The sword light flared up, and with a “clang”, the cage was cut at one corner.
The imprisoned cultivators regained their freedom and rushed to other cells to save those trapped inside.
“We have to leave here quickly,” Sang Nian said.
Wen Buyu looked in a certain direction, his face grave:
“I’m afraid it’s going to be difficult.”
Sang Nian followed his gaze and took a deep breath.
At the other end of the passage, two cultivators in black robes were approaching step by step.
Their aura was extremely terrifying. Before they even got close, their pressure caused many cultivators to vomit blood and fall to the ground.
Wen Buyu said slowly,
“They are probably puppets with the same cultivation level as my Master.”
“The same cultivation level as the Sect Master…doesn’t that mean they’re at the Transcending Tribulation stage?” Su Xueyin panicked, “We can’t possibly beat them!”
“Chu Yao, you take everyone and leave,” Wen Buyu said in a deep voice, “I’ll hold them off.”
“Ayin, take everyone and leave.” After saying this, Chu Yao tapped her toes and charged towards the black-robed puppets.
Wen Buyu’s face changed, and he hurriedly drew his sword to protect her:
“Nonsense!”
Sword energy surged, exploding in a blinding white light.
Chu Yao swallowed the blood in her mouth, her attack became even faster, and she said unconvinced:
“I don’t believe I can’t beat these artificial things!”
As soon as she finished speaking, she was hit, and her body flew backwards.
Sang Nian was quick and agile, and she rushed forward to catch her.
Chu Yao wiped the blood off her face and praised:
“You’re quick.”
Dropping those words, she charged forward again.
Wen Buyu suddenly said, “The weakness is in their chest!”
Chu Yao: “Understood!”
Sang Nian immediately drew her sword and prepared to follow, but Xie Chenzhou, who had been watching coldly, stopped her:
“There’s an underground river in the left passage, jump in and swim to the end.”
After speaking, he summoned his meteorite long sword, and a gale swept around him.
Countless sword shadows appeared in the void, joining him in the battle.
Sang Nian gritted her teeth, and together with Su Xueyin, she helped the injured cultivators up and shouted:
“There’s an underground river in the left passage, jump in and swim to the end!”
Everyone rushed to help each other and ran away.
Suddenly, in the void, someone chuckled softly and said slowly:
“Long time no see, Bu Si, you’ve grown up a lot.”
Xie Chenzhou swayed and suddenly raised his head.
