The two walked together for nearly half an hour before the kitsune finally stopped in front of a portal. She let out a call towards it.

The barrier between dimensions began to close. Ye Wenxin rushed forward, hoping to re-enter the academy, but her hands met only empty air.

She didn’t quite understand why the kitsune had suddenly become so considerate. This abrupt, unresolved ending left her dissatisfied. Still standing with her fists clenched, she considered whether she should forcefully reopen the portal to that dimension.

However, it would be unwise to cause a commotion near the break of dawn. She decided to find a place to rest and devise a plan to sneak back into the academy later.

When Ye Wenxin turned around, she saw a familiar face.

“What are you doing here?”

Wen Susu was floating midair, watching her with that usual gaze like she was observing a toy.

Wen Susu’s warped demeanor didn’t surprise her. She murmured a casual “oh” and continued walking down the path.

Surprised by Ye Wenxin’s lack of reaction, Wen Susu froze momentarily. “You’re just going to walk away like that? You’re not going to do anything?” Perhaps Ye Wenxin’s reaction was so unexpected that Wen Susu started chasing after her. She couldn’t believe Ye Wenxin could be so cold-blooded to the point of being emotionless. It was the opposite of the gentle Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng in her story setting.

“Luo Mo was kind enough to let me go. The least I can do is respect her intentions.” She took a few more steps forward, nodding to herself.

Wen Susu refused to give up. “Aren’t you usually quite passionate? Is Luo Mo not beautiful to you? If you went back now, she would be so moved that something special could happen between you two.”

Wen Susu continued to share her thoughts. After observing the tangled love and hate between the kitsune and Ye Wenxin in a third-person perspective, she was eager to sketch out more elaborate novel plots. Little did she know, neither the kitsune nor Ye Wenxin would follow her script.
