My Sister Set Me Up With Someone
My Sister Set Me Up With Someone Chapter 1

My sister has two boyfriends. I told her to split it up and share one with me. To my surprise, she actually did.

Worried that a breakup might be too harsh for a young guy, I decided to keep pretending to be my sister and kept chatting with him.

One day, I messaged him: “College entrance exams are coming up, so let’s break up.”

Right then, the law school’s campus heartthrob, sitting in front of me, turned around, his dark eyes piercing mine as he said, “Don’t break up with me, okay?”

Christmas Eve

My sister suddenly messaged me:

“Hey, I have two boyfriends; what should I do?”

I frowned. I knew my sister was reckless, but I hadn’t expected her to be this wild.

Since she’s still my sister, I replied, “Break up with one.”

[…Pause…]

After a long silence, I figured she was debating which one to break up with, so I left her alone and exited the chat, ready to play my game.

Just as I matched with a teammate, her message popped up on the screen:

“Alright, I’ll give you this one.”

Me: “??”

What did she mean?

Before I could process, she sent me his contact—a username with a big “X,” and a profile picture of Crayon Shin-chan.

Me: “??”

Confused, I wanted to confront her, but the next moment, a friend request notification popped up.

The message read: “Did someone report your account? Want me to help you appeal?”

Staring at the message, I hesitated but eventually accepted, using one of my sister’s typical emoji responses.

I thought, maybe a young guy like him can’t handle heartbreak right now. If we’re going to break up, I’ll have to ease into it.

Just as I hit send, he replied:

X: “So, ready to play? You can be the support princess.”

Knowing my sister often played support, I agreed and logged in.

Right as we started, I heard my roommate gasp and gossip with the others.

“OMG! The law school idol, Xu Yang, is online and has a girl with him!”

“That guy? Isn’t he usually super aloof and not into dating?”

“Guess his high standards crumbled for someone special, huh?”

My roommates huddled, chattering about Xu Yang.

I shook my head and focused on the game.

X was exceptional with his character, carrying me even though I was just there for fun. But the opponents caught on and targeted only me, determined that the “support girl” must go down.

Soon, the screen went dark as my character fell.

I wasn’t upset, but X seemed furious, typing to me: “Be good and stay safe by the fountain.”

He then charged out alone.

Within two minutes, he achieved a string of five kills, taking down the entire team. He then destroyed all their towers and waited at their base, taking out anyone who dared to step out. The enemy surrendered out of frustration.

When the game ended, I saw the time and logged off.

But before I could leave, X sent a massive red envelope.

[X transferred you 5,200 yuan]

X: “It’s my fault. Don’t be mad, okay?”

He added a sad face emoji.

Me: “…”

I thought, where did my sister find such a devoted guy?

This might be my chance to start cooling things off. I didn’t reply, hoping that a bit of silence would help us drift apart, making the eventual breakup easier.

As I put down my phone, I heard my roommates squeal.

“Oh my gosh, Xu Yang just posted something!”

“What did he say?”

They gathered and read his post: “Any tips on cheering up an angry significant other?”

Being Xu Yang fans, my roommates immediately whipped out their phones to offer suggestions.

I listened vaguely to their ideas—buying milk tea, sending money, meeting in person, even a hug… none of them sounded particularly reliable.

I closed my eyes, not caring about Xu Yang’s love life. My mind was fixed on figuring out how to break things off with X.

To my surprise, the next day, X bombarded me with messages:

X: “Here’s a milk tea to lift your mood.”

[X transferred you 1,314 yuan]

X: “How about meeting up?”

Me: “…”

These attempts seemed oddly familiar, but I didn’t dwell on it. Meeting up would blow my cover, so I flatly refused.

But I realized that the longer I dragged this out, the deeper X’s feelings might grow. I’d need to act soon.

Just as I was planning my words, my roommate tapped me.

“Come on, time for the public lecture.”

Startled, I shoved my phone away, hoping no one would find out about my “online romance.”

The lecture hall was packed, students from all departments were there. I found a seat, pulled out my phone, and rehearsed my “Let’s break up” message.

Just as I was about to send it, my roommate nudged me, whispering excitedly, “Look, Xu Yang is here for this lecture too!”

“Wow, that height, that look—who wouldn’t be smitten?”

I followed his gaze. Xu Yang stood near the door, close to six-foot-three, with pale skin, ink-dark brows, intense eyes, a sharp nose, and perfectly defined jawline—a stunning profile.
