Transmigrating into the Villain’s Sickly Childhood Friend Chapter 49 Store Opening

The first store of Mengzhen was slated to open half a month later on Saturday, which was the auspicious day that Lin Zihui had spent lots of money to give it a master’s look.

In the days leading up to the event, Lin Zihui and Qiao Wen were immersed in a whirlwind of tight schedules and detailed preparations. Every detail, from the layout of the store to the selection of merchandise, had been carefully curated to ensure a memorable and successful grand opening.

Their tireless efforts and meticulous planning not only showcased their dedication but also reflected the culmination of their dreams. Despite the demanding workload, both Lin Zihui and Qiao Wen remained energized and focused. The anticipation of seeing their vision come to fruition kept their spirits high, overshadowing any fatigue or weariness that may have crept in due to the demanding nature of their preparations.

Finally, the much-anticipated day of Mengzhen Clothing’s store opening came. Early that morning, Qiao Wen put on a new suit and planned to go to the shop earlier to finalize everything was okay, leaving no mistake.

A group of Hexing members headed by Chen Jianan and Jiang Yufeng accompanied him. Of course, they weren’t only here for to join in the excitement of the opening, but were also invited by Qiao Wen to take charge of today’s security work.

Since Li Xingchen was going to open today’s opening ceremony, dozens of Hong Kong newspapers and magazines sent reporters to cover the event, which would inevitably make the event very lively and extraordinary, so security was crucial.

While the gangsters may not possess any other abilities, being security guards and maintaining order was no problem for them.

Of course, they underwent a remarkable transformation under Chen Jianan’s lead. The grooming section was started a day before yesterday, from trimming the rough hair to shedding their customary rough exterior to unveil a polished and refined look.

So after neatly combing hair and put on the professional attire, concealing the tattoos that adorned their arms, they look more refined. Upon initial inspection, one would find it hard to believe that this group of individuals had any ties to the gritty world of slums and gang activity.

As long as they maintained their composed silence, their true identities would remain shrouded in mystery, shielded by their impeccable grooming and wardrobe choices.

Among the group, the duo of Chen Jianan and Jiang Yufeng undeniably captivated everyone’s attention. Chen Jianan, living up to his reputation as a pretty boy south, effortlessly drew the gaze of all the young female shop assistants upon his arrival. The bolder ones directly stepped forward to strike conversation with him, from time to time he was seen with girls.

On the other hand, Jiang Yufeng exuded a different kind of presence with his tall and straight posture and confident demeanor. Dressed sharply in a formal suit, he resembled a model who had stepped off the runway, commanding attention wherever he went. His stern and cold countenance added an enigmatic allure that compelled not just women, but even passing men, to steal a second glance at him.

It’s just the reception towards Jiang Yufeng was in stark contrast to that of Chen Jianan.  The female shop assistants seemed to instinctively keep their distance from him, almost afraid to meet his gaze.

In essence, when these two individuals graced the vicinity with their presence, a certain aura of unspoken rules seemed to settle in, dissuading anyone from causing a commotion or disrupting the delicate balance of the atmosphere.

As the opening time approached, Qiao Wen couldn’t help feeling a little nervous despite having prepared everything. As the manager of a new store – yes, Secretary Qiao has now been promoted to Manager Qiao, he and Lin Zihui took the store manager up and down, checking every detail of the work and were very busy.

Meanwhile, Chen Jianan found it increasingly challenging to remain idle, his restless nature driving him to a state of boredom while he lingered by the door. His eyes would frequently dart around, unconsciously seeking out Qiao Wen among the crowd. It was a matter of moments before Chen Jianan’s restlessness got the better of him; the second he caught sight of Qiao Wen descending the stairs, Chen Jianan’s feet moved before his mind could fully process the decision, eager to catch up with him without a moment’s delay.

Qiao Wen thought he had something to say, and asked casually: “What’s the matter?”

Chen Jianan shook his head quickly: “Nothing, nothing, I’ll just watch how you guys working on, you just do your thing, don’t worry about me.”

Qiao Wen really didn’t have time to take care of him, as he was busy going up and down the stairs. Chen Jianan followed him in and out like a tail, and he really didn’t bother him.

This was the first time Chen Jianan saw Qiao Wen’s work. Although he didn’t quite understand a lot of what he was saying, just seeing how he easily handling situations and arranging the work for the employees made him feel that Xiao Qiao was really amazing. Obviously, a few months ago, he was a timid kid who was a bit intimidated with people, but now he was completely on his own and had become a very impressive Xiao Wen.

His eyes followed Qiao Wen without fail, the more he looked, the more honored he became, the more he felt joyful, because his heart was surrounded by a surge of unspeakable emotions, the corners of his mouth unconsciously curved up.

Occasionally Qiao Wen perceived his upright gaze and turned his head to smile at him. Whenever this happened he was even more ecstatic, and the turbulent emotions in his chest had to roll around in his body several times before they could calm down.

He was relly happy for Qiao Wen, but every time he saw Qiao Wen and Lin Zihui put their heads together to discuss work, he felt a little unhappy. The corners of the mouth that had been cocked would also droop a bit, and only when the two of them separated did they return to their original state.

By 9:30, with only half an hour left before the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Qiao Wen made sure again and again that everything was fine and was about to sit down and rest, suddenly he felt dizzy and his body shook violently.

“Awen!”

Lin Zihui, who was standing by, was horrified, and was about to reach out for help, but a figure suddenly rushed up and supported Qiao Wen faster than him.

This person was of course Chen Jianaan who had been following Qiao Wen around.

“Xiao Qiao, what happen to you?” He hugged Qiao Wen and asked in a panic.

Qiao Wen slightly stabilized himself and waved his hand, “I’m fine, maybe I’m a bit tired these past few days, I didn’t get much sleep so I’m a bit dizzy.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Jianaan quickly helped him into the lounge and sat him down on the black leather sofa.

Lin Zihui followed nervously and poured a cup of hot water and brought it over: “Awen, have some water.”

Chen Jianan took the water and fed Qiao Wen two mouthfuls. After putting down the cup, he raised his head and glared at Lin Zihui. Just now seeing the four-eyed boy and Qiao Wen being so affectionate, he was so upset, now he finally found a chance to open fire at him, and he didn’t plan to show mercy at all.

Lin Zihui couldn’t help but blame himself when he saw Qiao Wen’s appearance. These days, he had been so focused on the opening of the store. Regardless of Qiao Wen’s physical condition, he forced him to work overtime every day. He was no different from an unscrupulous capitalist who feasted on human blood and flesh.

In addition, he was a little afraid of Chen Jianan, now seeing his eyebrows erected coldly, he knew that he was going to go crazy, so he sat down honestly and prepared to withstand his fierce gunfire.

Chen Jianan’s cannon fodder was indeed very fierce.

“Four-eyed boy, Xiao Qiao works with you to help you, not to work for you and be enslaved by you!”

“I know.”

“You promised me to take good care of him? Is this how you’re taking care of him.”

“It is my fault.”

“Look how tired you’ve made him!”

“I will not do it again.”

Qiao Wen after settling down he recovered a bit. Seeing the two men singing the same tune as if they were acting, he rubbed his forehead speechlessly and said. “Okay, Brother Nan, I’m not in good health myself in the first place, why are you blaming Zihui for? Besides, I work hard for myself.”

As soon as he opened his mouth, Chen Jianan immediately retracted his fire and asked in a gentle voice. “Xiao Qiao, how are you?”

Qiao Wen said: “I’m really fine,  I’ll just rest for a while.”

Lin Zihui, who was sitting next to the two men, glanced back and forth at their faces through his glasses, and sighed in his heart that Awen was really capable. As long as he gave the order, Anan, the fire-breathing dragon, would be like an obedient big dog in front of him.

Chen Jianan didn’t know that his image in the four-eyed boy’s heart had become a big dog. Seeing that Qiao Wen was really fine, he was relieved, but he couldn’t help but glared at Lin Zihui again.

Just then, there was a loud commotion came from downstairs.
