Recruiting Talents
After multiple rounds of filtering, the pool of candidates narrowed down to fewer than 10,000. Now, the remaining candidates had to be reviewed manually.
They were only interested in the talent they truly needed. For everyone else, they would have to wait. After all, Planet Elf is considered a sanctuary, and both Mo Mo and Ye Mo didn’t want it to become chaotic.
Their goal was for the inhabitants of Planet Elf to be refined, precise, and high-quality.
One crucial requirement was that applicants needed to have the ability to channel qi energy into their bodies.
This criterion alone eliminated 70% of the remaining candidates, leaving only 3,000 people.
These 3,000 individuals were then transported to Planet Elf via military ships from District Eight.
This selection process blocked many who had hoped to reach Planet Elf, especially high-ranking officials from Districts Seven and Eight, who also desired to go. Just a glimpse of Planet Elf’s environment made it clear how desirable the place is.
During this period, Ye Mo organized the highly skilled interstellar warriors to start reforesting the planet.
Fruit trees were planted in all the residential areas on Planet Elf, with these trees forming natural boundaries around the communities. Ye Mo also led a group in converting the outer areas into farmland.
Regarding agriculture, Ye Mo had the butler organize the learning materials. With robots available to assist, the butler simply lets the robots post the farming materials to the StarNet, the butler doesn’t have to do it personally.
Once these agricultural resources were made available online, almost everyone eagerly began studying them. Even though most people hadn’t yet had the opportunity to farm, Planet Elf had already initiated a planet-wide farming movement.
Even the 3,000 new arrivals didn’t rush into their scientific experiments. For them, the first priority was to claim a piece of land and plant the vegetables they wanted to eat. Only after that did they return to their scientific research.
Interestingly, 1,000 of these 3,000 individuals were plant researchers. The moment they arrived on Planet Elf, they disappeared into the wilderness, becoming almost impossible to locate. These plant experts had a deep understanding of which plants were edible and which were not. As long as they had food, they could disappear for days or weeks without being seen.
If it weren’t for Ye Mo preparing treehouses for them and urging them to return and claim their homes, they might never have come back.
However, when they saw the treehouses, they immediately began studying their surroundings, refusing to enter until they fully understood the intricacies of the treehouse structures.
Ye Mo found the situation a bit exasperating but was relieved that the fruit trees on Planet Elf were abundant enough to sustain everyone. Otherwise, she feared these researchers might collapse from hunger on the planet.
With so many people now living on Planet Elf, and with many of them livestreaming their research, the entire planet was exposed to the wider interstellar audience.
The vast resources of Planet Elf left the rest of the galaxy drooling with envy.
At this point, the Interstellar Alliance on Planet One issued several commands to Mo Mo and Yan Mingke, demanding that they open Planet Elf to the entire galaxy. The Alliance claimed that Planet Elf was a collective asset and could not be monopolized by Districts Seven and Eight; it had to be shared with everyone.
When Yan Mingke saw this blatant demand, he was furious. “What? Is the Alliance trying to push us to leave this star system? Why don’t they open the resources of Main Planet One to the entire galaxy?”
After all, District One had the richest resources in the galaxy, yet no one had ever seen them share those resources. So why were they now forcing Districts Seven and Eight to share Planet Elf? Was it simply because they believed these two districts were easy targets?
This pressure from the Alliance only fueled new ideas for Mo Mo and Yan Mingke. They immediately restricted sales of their goods to residents of Districts Seven and Eight only, banning sales to outsiders.
Initially, they had been willing to sell to anyone across the galaxy, but it was clear that the Alliance had taken too much and grown dissatisfied.
Moreover, with Planet Elf’s fruit production now in full swing, many of these fruits were being sold online.
However, these sales are only available to residents of Districts Seven and Eight. The rest of the galaxy could only look on in frustration, unable to make purchases.
The prices for these fruits were incredibly low, but only those in Districts Seven and Eight could buy them. Naturally, this left the rest of the galaxy lamenting their exclusion.
Even ordinary citizens in Districts Seven and Eight could now afford fruit from time to time because the prices were so reasonable, though again, this was limited to internal sales.
The people of Districts Seven and Eight were more united than ever. Even when outsiders tried to get them to buy fruits on their behalf, they refused.
For them, these privileges were hard-won by their interstellar soldiers. To sell these goods to outsiders would only harm the interests of their districts, so no one engaged in resale.
The citizens of Districts Seven and Eight were highly motivated, and with most of their interstellar soldiers now stationed on Planet Elf, the two districts began recruiting a large number of new soldiers. Many of these new recruits were young people from other districts.
For the families of these new recruits, Districts Seven and Eight granted some special privileges. After all, these soldiers were now part of the two districts, and they were free to purchase goods and send them to their families.
Their families were also given limited purchasing rights.
This development only made more young people eager to join Districts Seven and Eight. In response, Districts One to Six soon placed restrictions on the emigration of young people.
These restrictions left the younger generation frustrated and angry.
However, despite the uproar in Districts One to Six, Districts Seven and Eight continued to flourish. Most of the inhabitants of Planet Elf were able to cultivate, and with Mo Mo and Ye Mo planting spiritual plants and using large quantities of vitality water, the planet’s spiritual energy concentration continued to rise.
Qin Lin, while watching a live stream from Planet Elf, was astonished by the planet’s high concentration of spiritual energy. This didn’t seem like the right environment for Mo Mo and Ye Mo.
Qin Lin was puzzled. Weren’t they supposed to be ghost cultivators?
But that couldn’t be possible?
They clearly had powerful magical abilities, and their cultivation was anything but weak. Qin Lin reasoned that if they had started cultivating from scratch, they couldn’t have progressed so quickly.
At the same time, Qin Lin was dealing with a personal problem. One of his concubines became pregnant, and while he was initially thrilled, he soon discovered that the child was not his. Further investigation revealed that his concubine had been having an affair with her cousin, and the child was theirs.
However, interstellar law provided legal protection for pregnant women, and even though Qin Lin is a prince, the law applied to him as well. Despite his fury, he couldn’t lay a hand on her.
