Planet Elf, Part 2
Even though these researchers are all talented individuals, their family members are from all walks of life, representing a wide range of personalities and professions. Mo Mo and Ye Mo discussed the matter, and Ye Mo thought that since the researchers had made the request, allowing their families to come was acceptable. However, only immediate family members were allowed, which included parents, siblings, spouses, and children. Others, unfortunately, would not be permitted.
Once this rule was set, the researchers began messaging their families, asking them to meet at District 8. Some people tried to sneak in, but there was no way to bypass the system unless they were women marrying into the community, and even then, marriage had to have been for at least two years before anyone could enter Planet Elf.
Who would be willing to go through a fake marriage and waste two years, just for a chance to enter Planet Elf? After all, once someone is there, they will never lack star coins or food again.
During this time, Ye Mo had been so busy that even her own children hadn’t seen her in days, making them anxious. They voiced their frustrations to the butler. Realizing she had been neglecting them, Ye Mo decided to set aside her work and spend time with her six little ones.
Besides, all but the eldest, Guaiguai, were about to reach the Golden Core stage, and they would soon need a place to undergo their tribulations. Ye Mo didn’t want their progress to cause any destruction on Planet Elf.
However, the six children insisted on accompanying her to work. So, Ye Mo set off with her team, taking the six along. Since the children were still small and walked slowly, they travelled by flying on their swords, which made the followers envy them.
One of them asked, “Madam, how high does one’s cultivation need to be to fly on a sword like that?”
“Not too high—just at the Foundation Establishment stage,” Ye Mo replied.
“Foundation Establishment?” One person was worried. He was only in the second stage of Qi training. When would he be able to build foundation?
“It feels so far away!”
“Yes, I feel like it will take me one or two years at least,” another added.
“One or two years isn’t bad,” someone else chimed in. “Didn’t one of the young masters say that some people might never reach Foundation Establishment in their entire lives?”
“Luckily, we have long lifespans. I think we’ll get there eventually,” another remarked optimistically. They all knew that, in ancient times, mortals only lived to be about a hundred years old, and cultivators maxed out at two hundred. If they couldn’t establish their foundations in that time, they would be done for. But now, their lifespans had increased to five or six hundred years, giving them plenty of time.
Ye Mo thought about the lifespans of the people from the interstellar world and commented, “Maybe time really is on your side.”
However, only those on Planet Elf had the luxury of time, as it was the only place with spiritual energy. Other planets, no matter how long their people lived, wouldn’t be able to cultivate without it.
Their group had travelled far from the residential area when they suddenly heard rustling in the grass ahead. Ye Mo squinted her eyes. She and Mo Mo knew that there were no living creatures on this planet except for snakes. When she extended her divine sense, she was surprised to see a researcher lying unconscious in the grass nearby.
This place is too far away from the residential area. There was actually a researcher crawling in the bushes not far away. Although he moved twice just now, Ye Mo could see that this person was now in an unconscious state.
Guaiguai immediately flew over to him. “Mom, I think he’s passed out.”
“Yes, probably from exhaustion,” Ye Mo was a little speechless. Are these plant researchers a little too devoted?
“Madam, this is Jiang Ming. No one’s seen him since he arrived. Lord Zhu Jun even asked me to see if I could find him and send him back.”
“Why didn’t you mention this earlier?” Ye Mo had already reached Jiang Ming’s side and was sending spiritual energy into his body.
“He said that as soon as he left the ship, he was going off to conduct research and told everyone not to disturb him. Who knew he’d come this far?”
This area that even Ye Mo hadn’t explored yet. Did Jiang Ming come here precisely because he knew no one else had?
Jiang Ming woke up shortly after. His first reaction upon seeing Ye Mo and the others was to glare at them angrily. “Who told you to come here? How dare you trample this area!”
Although Jiang Ming looked to be in his thirties or forties, his profile revealed that he was actually 102 years old. Ye Mo frowned but didn’t respond. Before she could, one of the interstellar soldiers spoke up.
“Researcher Jiang, if we hadn’t saved you, you’d be dead right now.”
Another soldier offered him a cup of juice. “Here, Researcher Jiang, drink this. You haven’t eaten in a while, have you?”
“I won’t let myself be corrupted by these things!” Jiang Ming declared, sounding very serious.
Everyone was a bit speechless at that. Who was trying to corrupt him?
“How about a nutrient supplement instead?” Ye Mo suggested.
Jiang Ming hesitated before replying awkwardly, “I’m out of star coins.”
Ye Mo’s lips twitched. So he had fainted from hunger. She decided he was being too hard on himself. “Researcher Jiang, drink the juice. It’s made from plant-based fruits, after all.”
“Right! It’s all part of your research, tasting the plants’ fruits, isn’t it?” someone added.
“Yes!” Jiang Ming finally gave in, taking the juice and drinking it. His eyes lit up after the first sip. “This juice is delicious!”
“Of course, Madam has been leading us in growing fruit trees and natural plants all over Planet Elf. If you want more juice, you can just pick some fruit near the residential area,” they coaxed, hoping to bring him back.
But Jiang Ming quickly turned to Ye Mo. “Madam, may I live in this area? There are so many natural plants here, and I want to study them.”
Seeing how serious he was, Ye Mo could only nod in agreement. After all, there were no longer any dangers on Planet Elf, so living anywhere was fine.
“Researcher Jiang, first let’s find you a proper place to live,” Ye Mo looked at Jiang Ming.
Jiang Ming led them to a barren patch of land where nothing was growing. “Madam, here would be perfect. I’ve studied the soil, and it’s unsuitable for plant growth.”
Ye Mo took out four elf tree seeds and tossed them onto the ground. Almost instantly, a treehouse began to grow from the ground.
When Jiang Ming saw this scene, he didn’t react at all and just stood there in a daze.
