Everyone Wants to Make Things Difficult for Her
Meanwhile, Qin Lin quickly compiled a list of those who had recently joined Mo Mo’s side and sent it to his subordinates to check if they recognized any names. He wanted them to find out how these individuals were cultivating.
Soon, Qin Lin gathered some information. It turned out Mo Mo hadn’t kept anything hidden. His people were cultivating through a unique combination of the right time, the right place, and the right people—something that couldn’t easily be replicated by others.
When Qin Lin finally obtained Mo Mo’s cultivation methods, he was stunned. In addition to the common cultivation techniques Mo Mo had openly shared, there were also included cultivation methods from the dark realm, particularly ghost cultivation techniques, which were quite widespread in the dark world.
Qin Lin found this odd. Could this technique really work?
He had tried using these techniques on his people before, but none had succeeded. Even with the spiritual cultivation techniques Mo Mo had shared, many had managed to start the process of absorbing energy into their bodies, but advancing further seemed difficult.
Qin Lin felt frustrated as if he were missing something essential.
He wanted to ask Mo Mo, but since they were now rivals, he couldn’t. The idea of asking Mo Mo directly was out of the question.
Qin Lin was growing increasingly frustrated. There was one thing that not even Ye Mo knew—what he and Mo Mo were truly competing for.
Neither Qin Lin nor Mo Mo would ever discuss this openly, and Mo Mo certainly wouldn’t tell Ye Mo.
For some reason, Qin Lin now felt that Mo Mo might actually surpass him this time.
However, he wasn’t willing to give up. As long as he could cultivate a better heir, he would still have a chance to surpass Mo Mo.
What Qin Lin didn’t know was how much Mo Mo’s children had progressed in their cultivation. He was only aware that all six of Mo Mo’s children were spiritual cultivators, unlike his own ghost cultivators.
Thinking about this made Qin Lin want to laugh. He had no idea which of Mo Mo’s children would inherit the position in the dark realm, but one thing was clear: Mo Mo was bound to lose the inheritance battle.
Speaking of heirs, Qin Lin had infused the dark realm’s cultivation techniques into his puppets, and the children were excelling in their training. Qin Lin was particularly impressed by Ye He’s child, who was progressing exceptionally well.
Although this child had a lot of negative emotions, his talent is extraordinary, and he is also quite intelligent.
What pleased Qin Lin the most was that when this child was with him, his negative emotions were much less pronounced. But with Yu He, things were different—the negativity surged.
Qin Lin did some research into the relationship between Ye Mo and Yu He and concluded that the two sisters didn’t get along well. This likely explained why the child had so much negative energy when with Yu He. Clearly, Ye Mo was trying to get back at her sister.
At that moment, Qin Lin had a twisted thought. If Ye Mo disliked Yu He so much, then perhaps bringing Yu He into the dark realm would cause Ye Mo some real trouble. After all, if Momo hadn’t chosen him, perhaps taking Yu He in would do the trick…
Ye Mo had no idea that Qin Lin was now plotting something so sinister, even considering making Yu He her rival in the dark realm.
But would Ye Mo be afraid?
In the past, when she knew Qin Lin and Mo Mo were enemies and that Qin Lin’s cultivation level was higher than hers, Ye Mo might have feared for her and her children’s safety.
But now, her cultivation had improved greatly, and so had her children’s. Even if the kids faced Qin Lin alone, there was nothing to fear. And as for Ye Mo herself? She had no worries at all.
What Qin Lin didn’t realize was that the gap between him and Ye Mo’s family was growing larger by the day. Since coming to the interstellar realm, Qin Lin hadn’t made any progress—he was still at the level of a ghost general. Mo Mo, on the other hand, had already reached the late stage of ghost king cultivation.
To put things in perspective: the maximum level for a ghost general is 90, and Qin Lin was currently over level 80. But the maximum for a ghost king is 150, and Mo Mo was already over 140. The difference was immense.
Qin Lin had no idea just how far behind he had fallen.
Even among the little ones, Guaiguai’s cultivation is higher than Qin Lin’s. As for the other children, though they were still at the ghost general level, they were capable of outmatching him in escape, if not direct combat. Since they practiced both yin and yang cultivation techniques, their fighting power was essentially double that of others.
Qin Lin remained blissfully ignorant of all this. He was still here, feeling smug about the puppet children in his hands that could easily practice the dark world techniques!
On Ye Mo’s side, she had been staying with her children in the valley of District Eight. Meanwhile, Aunt Yu had gone back to check on Grandma Yu.
Aunt Yu went to Grandma Yu’s place and didn’t show her face. She just took a look secretly.
During this time, Grandma Yu had stayed cooped up in her house, not stepping out, as unfamiliar people were always wandering around her home. Aunt Yu caught one of them and asked, “Why are you lurking around here?”
“This is the home of the general’s wife’s grandmother, isn’t it? I’m waiting to see the general’s wife.”
“She won’t be coming here anymore. Please leave.”
“But didn’t the old lady curse the general’s wife? Shouldn’t the general’s wife take revenge?”
“You underestimate the general’s wife. Please leave. Don’t concern yourselves with this old woman—just treat her like a stranger.” Although Aunt Yu disliked her own mother, she didn’t want to see her living as if she were imprisoned.
After Aunt Yu’s firm stance, the strangers finally left the area around Grandma Yu’s house.
Aunt Yu stood nearby, hesitating about whether to go inside. That’s when she heard Grandma Yu muttering to herself, “So Fengqi has really given up on me. If I had known it would turn out like this, I would’ve treated Minjia and Momo better. What was I even thinking?”
Clearly, those two had more heart, but she had pushed them away.
Grandma Yu was now full of regret, but what good did it do?
Aunt Yu felt a twinge of disappointment as she heard her mother’s words. Even now, her mother was still comparing her and Momo to their brother, Fengqi. Despite all the sacrifices they had made, Grandma Yu seemed blind to them.
Did she really think they were like pets, that a little affection would make them come running back, eager for more?
Aunt Yu clenched her fists in frustration. Her mother had no sense of remorse because she and Momo had given her too much money, allowing her to live too comfortably.
Just then, Grandma Yu muttered again, “They say Mo Mo has returned to District Eight. Ye Mo should be too, right? Should I stir up trouble again and demand some money from her?”
Aunt Yu was furious.
Is this still Momo’s grandmother? She had refused their money before, and now she is planning to cause trouble for it? What is she thinking? Is she trying to help her son?
After all, it was Yu Fengqi who now had a reputation for being unfilial. Was Grandma Yu trying to shift that label onto Momo?
Aunt Yu clenched her fists tighter. It seemed she had made a mistake in driving away those people earlier. Her mother was someone who deserved to be watched and kept under control.
