Send Them Back to District 8
Yu He had no idea that her fate had already been decided by Qin Lin. Although she was originally the protagonist in this story, ever since Zhang Yuming died, her “protagonist halo” gradually faded. By now, it was almost completely gone.
The most important thing was that Yu He was an ordinary person. Compared to these cultivators, who possessed supernatural abilities, she was at a severe disadvantage because she had not practiced.
Meanwhile, Ye Mo was unaware of the drama unfolding on Yu He’s side. She was, however, astonished when she saw a message left by Yu Fengqi, Aunt Yu’s brother. What really took her by surprise wasn’t that Yu Fengqi hadn’t given any wedding gift for his sister’s marriage, but that he had the audacity to ask for a share of the wedding gifts that Aunt Yu had received!
When Ye Mo saw this message, she was both amused and angry. Without hesitation, she responded to Yu Fengqi: “No one gave any wedding gifts at the wedding!”
Aunt Yu and Jiu Yue had simply enjoyed a lively celebration with the people of the Planet Elf, and no one had collected gifts at all.
Seeing Ye Mo’s reply, Yu Fengqi became furious. “Do you still recognize me as your father?”
“I don’t have a father!” Ye Mo retorted immediately. In her eyes, her so-called father might as well be dead. Having a father like him was worse than having none at all.
“You unfilial daughter!”
“Sorry, but though I was born to my mother, I was never raised by a father. So how would I know anything about filial piety?” Ye Mo’s words were sharp, especially since it was common knowledge on StarNet that Yu Fengqi had never treated his own mother well.
Yu Fengqi was seething as he read Ye Mo’s words. He wanted to argue that he had raised her, but then he remembered that Ye Mo’s nutrient supplements had all been provided by the Interstellar Alliance and that his wife Yuan Lili had embezzled a third of them to sell for money. He himself had never given Ye Mo anything. Even the gifts Aunt Yu had previously given to Ye Mo had been taken by Yu He.
Yu Fengqi couldn’t find anything to argue back with, because he knew he had no ground to stand on.
Ye Mo scoffed, “Get lost. Stop embarrassing yourself.” She was truly disgusted by Yu Fengqi and no longer felt the need to hide her contempt.
She knew some people would probably criticize her for speaking like that, but she didn’t care.
After sending that message, Ye Mo logged off.
Aunt Yu, meanwhile, also saw her brother’s outrageous message on her profile. Without hesitation, she added her own comment beneath Ye Mo’s: “Get lost. I don’t want to see you either. Don’t act like you’ve been wronged just because Momo scolded you. When you tried to sell her and her children, you should’ve realized you’re nothing but an animal, not a human!”
Aunt Yu primarily posted this to prevent Ye Mo from being attacked by others.
Those who had been on the verge of accusing Ye Mo of being unfilial hesitated when they saw Aunt Yu’s comment.
After all, if a father isn’t kind, how can a child be filial?
Moreover, when people saw that Yu Fengqi had once tried to sell Ye Mo, they were reminded of how he had sought every opportunity to get rid of her and her children.
Criticize? How could they criticize her? If they had been in her position, they probably would have done worse!
Yu Fengqi had initially hoped to gain some attention by publicizing Ye Mo’s harsh words, but to his shock, no one seemed to care. In fact, people outright ignored what Ye Mo had said.
Still, Yu Fengqi took a screenshot of her message and posted it on Mo Mo’s public message board, asking, “You married this kind of woman, shouldn’t you explain this to everyone?”
Mo Mo, upon seeing the screenshot and the comment, replied calmly, “What standing do you think you have to ask that? Momo doesn’t even recognize you. What makes you think I should care about you? Whatever my wife does is justified, especially when dealing with someone like you.”
Mo Mo actually thought his wife had been too lenient in giving Yu Fengqi any opportunity to act out.
He then posted all the evidence of Yuan Lili’s past imprisonment and her misdeeds on his own public profile.
Yuan Lili had always kept her imprisonment a secret, especially now that she was the mother of a concubine. She had gone to great lengths to protect her reputation. But, thanks to Yu Fengqi’s unnecessary provocations, the scandal had come back to haunt her.
Yuan Lili’s past abuse of Ye Mo was now exposed for all of Galactic society to see.
“Oh my god, I can’t believe the General’s wife went through so much suffering!”
“I always knew Yu Fengqi wasn’t a good person. No wonder she treats him like that!”
“Exactly! Just look at Aunt Yu compared to Yu Fengqi, and you’ll understand. The General’s wife is someone who knows how to repay kindness.”
“That’s right! That’s right!”
“Yu Fengqi is disgusting!”
“Yu Fengqi, Yuan Lili, just go back to District 8 already! Stop polluting the air in District 1.”
“Yes, Yu Fengqi, Yuan Lili, go take care of your old mother in District 8 and stop being a nuisance here.”
The comments were flooded with people calling for Yu Fengqi and Yuan Lili to return to District 8.
Yuan Lili was so enraged by these comments that she burst into tears.
She had worked so hard to establish herself in District 1, but now all of her efforts had gone to waste.
Yu He, seeing her parents being publicly humiliated like this, knew that things were over. There was no way she could protect them anymore.
What she didn’t realize was that all of this had been orchestrated by Qin Lin.
Now, everyone was demanding that Yu Fengqi and Yuan Lili leave District 1, and he was curious to see how Yu He would manage to keep them around.
If they didn’t leave, he wouldn’t be able to make his move against Yu He.
Unaware of these manipulations, Yu He was already thinking it might be best for her parents to go back to District 8. At least if they were far away, the trouble they caused might not directly impact her.
She had grown increasingly fed up with the constant mockery from the other concubines in her palace.
“Dad, Mom, maybe you should go back.”
“What? You’re telling us to leave too?” Yuan Lili couldn’t believe her own daughter was asking them to leave. “He’er, do you know how long it will take to travel back to District 8?”
Although more wormholes were speeding up travel, there was no wormhole directly connecting District 8 to other interstellar spaces except the collapse area wormholes. It would take a long time to get there.
Yuan Lili really didn’t want to take that long journey again. Even though the spacecraft was stable, she hated the feeling of not being able to set foot on solid ground.
“Mom, even if you stay here, you won’t be able to show your face in public again. Is that really what you want?” Yu He was frustrated. Without her parents, she could have continued living the high life, given that her son was still favoured by the prince.
But now, everything had been ruined by her foolish parents. If they weren’t here, she would undoubtedly be much better off.
Yu He had made up her mind—her parents had to go!
