Pursuit in Another World: It’s Hard to Hold a Thigh Chapter 3

“Is your stinger poisonous?”

Xie Cheng asked, his main concern being when his arm would recover.

“It only makes the prey fall asleep for ten days,” Ada replied politely, though the little pride on his delicate face was hard to hide.

“Ten days?”

Xie Cheng frowned and glanced at his right hand. Ten days? How was he supposed to move in a place like this? Being completely numb for ten days here meant certain death. Once he passed out from the paralysis, it wouldn’t be long before other beasts would tear him apart and eat him. Fortunately, he had ice powers, or he wouldn’t even know how he’d die.

“The brave female didn’t even get hurt by my needle? How amazing.”

Ada looked at Xie Cheng’s right hand, which was covered in a layer of blue ice, and showed an expression of admiration.

Xie Cheng shot him a glare. “You said you’re from the Angel Tribe?”

“Yes,” Ada said proudly.

“God is going to cry.”

Xie Cheng shook his head, propped himself up with his left hand on the tree trunk, and jumped down from the tree. He patted his camouflage outfit and started to walk away.

“Who is God?”

Ada frowned and flew alongside Xie Cheng, asking him curiously. Xie Cheng deliberately ignored him and focused on thinking about other things.

He glanced at the invisible terminal indicator on his left wrist and walked deeper into the forest. He thought that since these Angel Tribe Beastmen didn’t seem to have any ill intentions toward him, he might as well let them follow him. With that thought, he said it aloud:

“Ada, are you familiar with this place?”

“Yes, we Angel Tribe are the only Beastmen in the Misty Forest. The others are all wild beasts.”

Ada answered, showing his pride once more.

“Oh… So, you’re the masters of this Misty Forest?” Xie Cheng nodded and asked with a smile on his face, though inwardly he was mocking: *Aren’t Beastmen wild beasts too? What’s the difference? Aren’t Beastmen just wild beasts that evolved into more intelligent forms?*

“Mm-hmm, the brave female is so smart. Yes, we are the masters of this forest…”

Ada seemed very pleased with Xie Cheng’s comment, but Xie Cheng suddenly furrowed his brow. He’d felt something was off earlier:

“My name is Xie Cheng, not brave female. In fact, I’m not feminine at all.”

He wasn’t a magnet, so where would all this “female energy” come from?

“Eh, Xie Cheng… Ah, Xie Cheng, where’s your partner?” Ada suddenly asked in surprise, “Is he in the Misty Forest too?”

“I’m alone. I don’t have a partner.”

Xie Cheng didn’t know why Ada suddenly asked that question, and he regretted it immediately. Coming to this desolate, beast-filled place alone was a mistake. He should’ve brought someone along when he came.

“Ah! Xie Cheng… No, no, no, brave female. If you’re an unmarried female, you can’t just tell us your name. Females are not allowed to casually give their names to unrelated males before they have a partner. You can only tell your name to a male you like. But we Angel Tribe cannot mate with outsiders. It’s forbidden. Brave female, we didn’t hear what you just said.”

Ada’s face showed a look of shock, and the other Angel Tribe members also looked terrified. Despite the fact that this female was very beautiful and skilled, their Angel Tribe could never accept suitors from outside their race. Furthermore, this female seemed to possess ice powers, which most likely meant they came from the far, cold lands. It was said that females from those places were naturally born with some ice abilities, but their temperaments weren’t great.

“…I just told you my name. Was that really necessary? And what’s all this about males mating with outsiders?”

Xie Cheng frowned, feeling a headache coming on. When he heard terms like “males mating with outsiders,” he realized he had misunderstood the whole “magnetic energy” thing. He felt a burst of discomfort. How could they refer to him as a female using animalistic terms? And a brave female at that? He couldn’t stand it!
