80s, After Breaking Off the Engagement, a Cold Military Officer Spoils Me Endlessly Chapter 30

Chapter 30: Trouble

They gently knocked on the door and Ling Yao and Zhao Kun pushed it open and walked in.

In the office, besides the manager, there was a young man. The young man had refined features and handsome facial features.

He wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses on his high nose bridge, giving him a refined and elegant look. It was obvious that he was someone of great status.

“Please wait a moment.” The manager said to Ling Yao and Zhao Kun, then smiled at the young man, his eyes filled with a hint of respect,

“I’ve taken note of everything you said. I’ll have someone post a missing person notice tonight.”

The young man nodded faintly and stood up, “Then I’ll trouble you. I’ll take my leave.”

As soon as he arrived in Yuncheng, he rushed to the Huayitang to collect the ginseng. Then, he came to the TV station.

He planned to post a missing person notice to find his father’s wife and daughter, hoping to get some clues from people who knew them.

Although the chances were slim, he still wanted to try.

For years, his father had never given up searching for them.

He knew his father’s pain and obsession, and he wanted to do his part. Even if the outcome was unsatisfactory, at least he had tried.

“No trouble at all. I’ll see you out.” The manager stood up and escorted the young man out of the office.

From the moment Ling Yao saw the young man, she felt a sense of familiarity, as if she had seen him somewhere before.

But she couldn’t remember. After all, even if she had seen him, it was a matter of her past life.

The young man noticed Ling Yao’s scrutinizing gaze and glanced at her coldly, his brow furrowed slightly.

After seeing the young man out, the manager returned to his office, took Zhao Kun’s information, flipped through it, and then said slowly, “I told you over the phone before.

The advertising production fee is three thousand yuan, and the primetime advertising fee is two hundred yuan per minute. If you can accept it, we can sign the contract.”

Zhao Kun looked at Ling Yao questioningly.

Ling Yao nodded slightly. The price seemed reasonable to her. Most importantly, she was confident in her medicinal wine.

Once it was launched, it would definitely be in high demand.

“Okay, we agree.” Now, Zhao Kun followed Ling Yao’s lead.

The manager looked at Ling Yao with surprise. This young lady wasn’t very pretty, but she was the one making the decisions.

You can’t judge a book by its cover.

After signing the contract, Ling Yao and Zhao Kun left the TV station.

“Ling Yao, do you want to go to the factory and take a look?” Zhao Kun asked Ling Yao.

“Okay.” Ling Yao nodded. She wanted to check on the wine.

They arrived at the factory, and Ling Yao followed Zhao Kun to the workshop.

She reached out, picked up a bottle of medicinal wine from the production line, and smelled it. Her face immediately changed.

“What’s wrong? Is there something wrong with the wine?” Zhao Kun noticed Ling Yao’s expression and was also alarmed.

“There’s something wrong with the medicinal wine. Stop the workers first.”

“Okay.” Zhao Kun was also very anxious when he heard that there was something wrong with the wine.

He quickly instructed the workers to stop production.

Ling Yao followed Zhao Kun to the warehouse. She opened a few bottles of medicinal wine.

They all had the same problem. “This batch of medicinal wine can’t be launched.

Take me to the medicinal herb warehouse.” She thought the problem must be with the herbs.

Zhao Kun immediately took Ling Yao to the medicinal herb warehouse, “This batch of herbs was just delivered.

Because of the continuous rain in Guicheng, Li Lei couldn’t send the herbs, so I found other suppliers.”

Ling Yao stepped forward and examined the herbs carefully. Soon, she discovered the problem,

“It’s the rehmannia glutinosa. It must have been improperly processed and spoiled and moldy.”

“What should we do? People have already ordered our medicinal wine.

If the first batch has problems, won’t we be disgraced?” Beads of sweat formed on Zhao Kun’s forehead.

Ling Yao pondered for a moment, “First, call the herb supplier. I’ll figure out a solution. And destroy this batch of wine.”

She couldn’t let the faulty wine enter the market. She had to be strict with quality control.

“Okay, I understand.” Zhao Kun rushed out of the warehouse.

Ling Yao stayed in the warehouse for a while before coming out.

The workers outside had already heard about the situation and were gathered together, discussing anxiously.

“The factory has finally resumed production, and now there’s trouble again. What should we do?”

“Are we going to be laid off? My family is counting on this money.”

“I’m old. Where will I find a job if I’m laid off?”

Zhao Kun walked over with a gloomy expression. He went to Ling Yao’s side, “The supplier refuses to admit they gave us moldy herbs.”

He had just had a heated argument with them on the phone. He couldn’t believe there were such shameless people in the world.

“There must be an inside man. Let’s find out who it is first.” The rehmannia glutinosa was clearly moldy and spoiled.

It shouldn’t have slipped through inspection. It was obvious that someone had done this on purpose.

“Mm.” Zhao Kun nodded. He suspected the same thing, and he already had a suspect in mind.

They went to the office, and Zhao Kun called his suspect into the office. It was his cousin, Zhao Jun.

Ling Yao glanced at Zhao Jun and stood up to leave the office. Zhao Jun was Zhao Kun’s cousin.

She decided to let Zhao Kun handle this himself. If he was too soft-hearted, then she didn’t need to cooperate with him anymore.

Business is like a battlefield. She didn’t need a partner who was too kind.

Zhao Jun looked at Zhao Kun uneasily, “Cousin, what do you want?”

“Zhao Jun, don’t play dumb. You know what you did, right? Answer honestly. Who told you to do it?”

Zhao Kun stared coldly at Zhao Jun, his eyes filled with disappointment.

Zhao Jun was his cousin. He had always taken care of him. He couldn’t believe that he would do something like this behind his back.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Zhao Jun’s heart was racing, but he tried to remain calm.

Zhao Kun’s face darkened. He slammed his hand heavily on the table, causing the items on the table to tremble slightly.

He held a stack of documents in his hand and threw them forcefully in front of Zhao Jun.

“This is the evidence. Do you still want to deny it?” Zhao Kun’s voice was filled with suppressed anger.

His eyes were fixed on Zhao Jun, as if he wanted to see through his eyes and into his heart.

After suspecting Zhao Jun, he went to the finance department to investigate. He didn’t know what he would find, but he was shocked by what he discovered.

Zhao Jun had been embezzling funds from the factory for years, and the amount was so huge that he couldn’t believe it.

Zhao Jun knew he couldn’t deny it anymore, so he simply gave up, “You’re my brother.

What’s wrong with me using a little of your money? It’s like I borrowed it from you.” He didn’t believe Zhao Kun would do anything to him. His father was his uncle.

Zhao Kun sneered, “You have two choices: return the money now or go to the police station.” He had struggled with this decision.

After all, Zhao Jun was his cousin. But Ling Yao was right. Being too soft-hearted would only push him into the abyss.

So, he had to be ruthless. Otherwise, this would happen again.
