Chapter 60: Applying Medicine

The incident continued to ferment. The Jiang sisters’ heinous bullying of their classmates was constantly being exposed.

The public, seeing the news, was filled with righteous indignation.

The school bell rang, signaling the end of class. Ling Yao packed her bag and turned to ask Wu Xin, who was sitting behind her,

 “Do you want to go to the department store to buy that dress later?”

“I’m not going today. I have to go to the teacher’s office to correct my homework.”

Wu Xin had been struggling with this decision for a long time. She decided not to be a third wheel for Ling Yao and Lu Qingyun.

“What did you get wrong? Do you want me to teach you?”

“No, go back quickly. I can handle it myself.” Wu Xin urged Ling Yao. Brother Lu was leaving Yuncheng tomorrow. She didn’t want to waste their time together.

“Okay.” Ling Yao didn’t insist. She picked up her bag and walked out of the classroom.

As she walked out of the school, Ling Yao saw a familiar car parked across the street. She quickened her pace and walked towards it.

 After Lu Qingyun went back last night, she had been very worried about his injury.

Although she had given him medicine, he wouldn’t have been injured if it weren’t for her.

Xiao Liu got out of the car and opened the back door for Ling Yao.

Ling Yao thanked him and got into the car. She saw Lu Qingyun closing his eyes and leaning back in the seat, sleeping.

 She lowered her voice and didn’t disturb him.

Lu Qingyun slowly opened his eyes. The moment he saw Ling Yao, the coldness in his eyes instantly melted away, leaving only gentle warmth.

 He took a box of snacks from beside him and handed it to Ling Yao, “I just bought this at Rong Ji. Have some.”

He passed by Rong Ji and suddenly thought that Ling Yao might be hungry after school. So, he got out of the car and bought a box of snacks.

“Thank you! How’s your injury? Did you apply medicine?” Ling Yao took the snacks and asked Lu Qingyun with concern.

“I haven’t applied medicine today. It’s not convenient to do it myself. I can’t reach.”

 Lu Qingyun’s voice was tinged with a hint of helplessness and grievance.

Xiao Liu almost drove the car into the river nearby. He quickly slammed on the brakes. Was this the captain he knew?

The captain was a tough guy who wouldn’t even make a sound after being shot several times.

 Now, he was actually whining and complaining to a girl. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have believed it.

Because of the inertia, Ling Yao fell forward.

Lu Qingyun reacted quickly and grabbed Ling Yao.

The next moment, Ling Yao fell into Lu Qingyun’s broad embrace. His chest was hard as stone, emitting a faint, pleasant scent of bamboo.

 The intoxicating aroma filled Ling Yao’s nostrils, and her heart skipped a beat.

“Sorry! Sorry! Is your injury okay?” Ling Yao struggled to get up from Lu Qingyun’s embrace, her cheeks flushed with a blush like the evening sky.

“Drive properly.” Lu Qingyun glared at Xiao Liu in displeasure. However, he couldn’t help but smile slightly.

“Sorry, Captain! I won’t get distracted again.” Xiao Liu quickly sat up straight and drove seriously.

“Did you touch your injury just now?” Ling Yao was most concerned about Lu Qingyun’s injury.

Lu Qingyun wanted to say it was fine, but he changed his mind. He frowned slightly, showing a painful expression,

 “I don’t know, but it hurts. Do you want to take a look?”

“Turn around. I’ll take a look.” Ling Yao didn’t doubt Lu Qingyun’s words. She had seen with her own eyes how serious the injury on his back was yesterday.

A hint of joy curved Lu Qingyun’s lips. He obediently turned around.

Ling Yao carefully pulled up the back of Lu Qingyun’s shirt. As the shirt was pulled up, the injury on Lu Qingyun’s back was revealed.

 Most of the wounds on his back had scabbed over, but there were two large blisters in two places, which looked very painful.

She took out the medicine from her bag and opened it. Ling Yao gently sprinkled the powder on Lu Qingyun’s back, “Hold still. It will be over soon.”

As she applied the medicine, she gently blew on the wound on Lu Qingyun’s back.

Her mother had told her when she was a child that this would help reduce the pain of the wound.

Lu Qingyun felt a tingling sensation go from his back to the top of his head, and a hot current surged towards a certain area, making him both painful and pleasurable.

 He couldn’t help but clench his teeth. This feeling was so damn good.

 It was as if millions of ants were crawling gently on his back, itchy and numb, making him almost forget the pain of the wound.

But another kind of torture made him extremely uncomfortable.

Ling Yao’s movements were gentle and delicate. She noticed sweat beads sliding down Lu Qingyun’s forehead and stopped what she was doing, “What’s wrong? Does it hurt a lot?”

Ling Yao blinked in confusion. Did she hurt him?

He didn’t dare to look at Ling Yao, afraid that she would discover his dirty thoughts. He didn’t want to leave her with an impression of being frivolous and vulgar.

The car stopped in front of a private restaurant.

“I ate here the day before yesterday. The food is very good.” Lu Qingyun opened the car door and got out.

 His steps were steady and confident, as if everything was under his control.

He had completely calmed down now and had regained his usual composure.

Ling Yao followed closely behind, her steps light and graceful.

They walked into the restaurant and went to the second floor.

Lu Qingyun took Ling Yao to the private room he had booked earlier.

After Ling Yao sat down, Lu Qingyun handed her the menu, “Take a look and see what you want to order.”

Ling Yao took the menu and opened it. Exquisite dishes were presented before her.

She casually ordered two dishes and handed the menu back to Lu Qingyun, “Brother Lu, you order.”

“Okay.” Lu Qingyun smiled and took it, “Jade Shrimp, Squirrel Fish, Braised Pork…”

“Brother Lu, that’s too much.” Seeing Lu Qingyun order seven or eight dishes in a row, Ling Yao couldn’t help but stop him.
