Chapter 75: Trying to Steal

The staff member looked annoyed, “I’m the prize redemption clerk.

 If I say you didn’t win, you didn’t win.

 Are you saying I’m trying to cheat you? Alright, stop making a scene.”

She waved her hand impatiently at Ling Yao and Wu Xin. Once they left, the TV would be hers.

Ling Yao snatched the ticket back from the staff member.

“What are you doing? Give me the ticket back.” The staff member stood up and tried to grab the ticket from Ling Yao.

 It was a 17-inch black and white TV. It cost seven or eight hundred yuan at the mall.

“The ticket is mine. If it didn’t win, I can do whatever I want with it. Or, are you trying to steal the winning ticket?”

 Ling Yao looked at the staff member with sharp eyes.

“How… how could that be?” The staff member looked away nervously. She had only targeted them because they were young.

Ling Yao looked at the ticket in her hand, “Then tell me, did this ticket win or not? Think carefully before you answer.”

“Of… of course not.” The staff member denied it stubbornly. With so many people watching, how could she admit it?

 What if the manager found out? Would she still have her job?

 She had gotten this job through her cousin, who was the sales director of the mall.

“I understand.” Ling Yao put the ticket in her pocket and walked into the mall with Wu Xin.

The staff member stomped her foot in frustration. She had missed a good opportunity.

“That staff member is so bad. She tried to steal your TV. We have to go to the mall’s office and complain about her.”

Wu Xin was so angry that she pulled Ling Yao towards the mall’s office.

“What are you doing? This is the office. You can’t just barge in.” A middle-aged man stopped Ling Yao and Wu Xin.

“We just bought a lottery ticket at your mall’s entrance. We clearly won, but your staff member said we didn’t win and tried to steal our ticket.”

Wu Xin briefly explained the situation.

“Is that true? Show me the ticket.” The middle-aged man reached out his hand.

Ling Yao took out the ticket and handed it to the middle-aged man.

The middle-aged man glanced at the ticket and said with a smile, “This ticket didn’t win.”

 As he spoke, he stuffed the ticket into his pocket. He was lucky today. He got a TV for free.

“What are you doing? Give us the ticket back.” Seeing this, Wu Xin trembled with anger. She reached out to grab the ticket back.

Ling Yao pulled Wu Xin back, “It’s okay. Let him keep it.”

“But it’s a TV.” Wu Xin’s face turned red with anger. How could there be such a shameless person in the world?

“Alright, stop making a fuss. Otherwise, I’ll call security.” The middle-aged man warned with a cold face.

 This was his territory. How could two little girls compete with him?

Ling Yao looked at the middle-aged man with a mocking smile. She pulled Wu Xin towards the office.

“What do you think you’re doing? I told you you can’t go into the office. I really will call security.”

The middle-aged man stepped forward to stop them.

Ling Yao pushed the middle-aged man aside and walked into the office.

Jiang Jianfei heard the commotion outside from his office. He stood up and was just about to reach the door when he saw Ling Yao,

 “Sister-in-law, what brings you here?”

He had invested in this mall with Ling Yao. Last time, Ling Yao asked him if he was interested in investing in the mall, and he agreed.

Besides him, Brother Lu also invested.

 He knew that Brother Lu had fallen for Ling Yao, so he called her sister-in-law.

“Come and see.” Ling Yao said calmly.

The middle-aged man was stunned when he heard Jiang Jianfei’s address.

Did he hear wrong? The manager called this girl sister-in-law?

“Brother Jianfei, what are you doing here? Is this mall yours?” Wu Xin’s eyes sparkled when she saw Jiang Jianfei.

The first time she saw him at her cousin’s birthday party, she fell for him.

Jiang Jianfei smiled and nodded, “What happened just now?”

Wu Xin glared fiercely at the middle-aged man and then told him the whole story.

At this moment, the middle-aged man was already sweating profusely. He was filled with regret.

“Yang Li, is what she said true?” Jiang Jianfei’s eyes swept coldly over Yang Li, his voice carrying a hint of authority.

He stood up and walked out of the office dejectedly.

“And the staff member downstairs also needs to be fired.” Wu Xin was angry at the thought of that staff member.

 No wonder her cousin kept reminding her to get along well with Ling Yao and learn from her.

“Yes.” Ling Yao smiled and nodded.

At this moment, Wu Xin felt like she was in a dream.
