Chapter 128: Awake

Chu Cheng raised his wrist and glanced at his watch.

He noticed that an hour had already passed by five minutes.

He sighed inwardly. The hope that had been ignited instantly extinguished, and his mood plummeted.

Thankfully, he hadn’t told his grandfather the news, otherwise, the old man would have been disappointed.

“Chu Cheng, I’ll go back to my office. If your brother shows any changes, let me know immediately.” The director’s words revealed his disappointment.

He had been hoping that Ling Yao could create a miracle and wake Chu Lie up. Now it seemed his expectations for Ling Yao were too high.

Chu Lie was in a vegetative state. Even doctors abroad were helpless. How could Ling Yao, a young girl who hadn’t even graduated from medical school, wake him up?

Liu Wenshan didn’t say anything. He followed the director towards the ward door. It seemed he had overestimated Ling Yao.

Chu Cheng saw the director and Liu Wenshan out of the ward. He gently closed the door and then slowly walked back to the bedside with heavy steps.

In the office, the director and Liu Wenshan sat facing each other. They were discussing Ling Yao.

The director and Liu Wenshan exchanged glances, stood up, and quickly walked out of the office.

When they arrived at the ward, the director and Liu Wenshan saw Chu Lie lying in bed with his eyes open, looking out the window.

Hearing someone enter, Chu Lie turned his gaze away from the window and looked at the two of them.

 He nodded slightly at them. He recognized the director, but this was the first time he had seen Liu Wenshan.

“Regiment Commander Chu, how are you feeling now? Is there anything uncomfortable?”

The director asked excitedly. A miracle, truly a miracle!

Chu Lie shook his head, “I just don’t have much strength…”

Liu Wenshan walked to the bedside, his voice slightly trembling with excitement, “Let me take your pulse.”
