Su Ming was arrested.
After handling the company’s finances, there were numerous unclear accounts, and with the unclear funding sources of the newly established company, a series of crimes were quickly uncovered.
News spread that all the charges against Su Ming were true, shocking the onlookers.
He had been so greedy, his audacity was unbelievable!
If it weren’t for him asking Su Wan for money, if it hadn’t been caught by the media, he probably would have been able to keep his shady dealings under wraps for life.
It could only be said that it was his own karma catching up with him.
All those involved in the matter were arrested, including Li Yang and Su Qin. When Su Qin was handcuffed, she tried to escape frantically. If she went to prison, her career in the entertainment industry would be ruined.
Her desperate struggles appeared so powerless and absurd in front of the media, and the ugliest side of her life was exposed to the public.
Su Qin kept shouting, “Let me go! I have nothing to do with this! I didn’t spend any money! …Why aren’t you going after Su Wan? Go after Su Xiaoqing, they also spent Su Ming’s money! Let me go! I need to find a lawyer, a lawyer…”
Su Wan and Su Xiaoqing’s accounts were also scrutinized.
The ironic and tragic truth was that the money Su Ming had made over the years wasn’t spent on Su Wan, let alone Su Xiaoqing. Su Xiaoqing’s finances were transparent, and her responsibilities were quickly cleared up.
This matter had nothing to do with either of them.
When this all came out, people couldn’t help but feel a mixture of pity for the mother and daughter, while also laughing at Su Qin’s self-deception.
The chat records and account statements clearly showed that Su Qin knew exactly what Su Ming was doing, but for her own benefit, she didn’t stop it, letting him make profit for her.
What a hypocrite!
Su Ming, Li Yang, and Su Qin were all implicated.
One could only say that justice would always find its way, and the karmic retribution was inevitable. The wrongs they had done eventually brought them down.
On the day of the verdict, Su Xiaoqing and her daughter sat in the back row, the entire trial streamed online for public oversight.
Su Ming appeared to have aged ten years, his hair now streaked with gray, his expression haggard as he hung his head.
He was used to living a life of luxury, never experiencing such hardships. As he listened to the litany of charges, he waved his hand in defeat, signaling that his lawyer could only try to reduce his sentence.
Su Ming was in despair.
Su Qin knew it was certain that she would go to prison. Her hatred for Su Wan could no longer be concealed as she glared intensely in Su Wan’s direction. If it weren’t for Su Wan, how could she have ended up like this?
Su Wan’s gaze drifted to her direction, her lips curling into a faint smile.
She silently said, “You’re finished.”
Su Qin’s chest heaved in anger, almost grinding her teeth in frustration. She wanted to curse but couldn’t, the taste of blood rising in her throat, her eyes rolling back, almost fainting.
Behind her, the media whispered and laughed: “She’s pretending to faint again.” “What a thick-skinned person.” “No one in prison will pity her.”
…
Su Qin’s face alternated between pale and green, her ears burning with shame. She wished she could faint right there, but the more she wanted to, the more awake she became, and she clearly heard the ridicule around her.
Why? Why were they laughing at her when she was suffering so much?
Li Yang remained indifferent, staring straight ahead, lips pressed together in silence. After hearing the verdict, his eyes moved slowly, and he finally closed them with a heavy sigh.
From beginning to end, he didn’t dare to look at Su Wan.
Even though he knew that if he didn’t look at her now, he might never have the chance to see her again in his life.
“…”
Su Ming received the heaviest sentence, more than a decade in prison. Whether he would be able to adapt to society once he got out was uncertain. The others received shorter sentences, but their careers were forever tarnished. It would be hard to rebuild their lives after their release.
Li Yang was silently escorted away, and as he entered the building, he hesitated for a moment, still unable to summon the courage to look back at Su Wan.
Su Qin, surrounded by the media and flashes of cameras, was terrified. Her mind was foggy, and she instinctively shouted at them, cursing not only the media but also Su Xiaoqing and her daughter.
