The crowd isn’t stupid either. At first, they didn’t react because they couldn’t believe someone could be that evil. But now, with the old woman trying to run away, it was clear something was off.

Some in the crowd began to feel suspicious.

Earlier, they had thought XU Nian Nian was acting inappropriately, but now they started to think the old woman was strange.

One officer kicked her from behind and grabbed her.

They tied her hands and walked her over.

After securing both the man and the woman, the police asked them to come to the station.

But still, she followed the police to the station, not for anything else, but for the brave citizen prize.

He took out paper and pen from the car and wrote down his name and number for her.

Xu Tianfei stood next to them, holding Zhou Min’s waist and comforting her while watching his brother act so attentive to a woman. This wasn’t normal. When had his brother ever done this before?

“Could it be that he likes her?” he wondered.

He added, “We have a car, and it’s easy for us to give you a ride. Where are you headed?”

XU Nian Nian glanced at the note in her hand, then looked at the car. People with cars were usually either rich or powerful. They probably wouldn’t kidnap someone like her, especially right outside a police station.

If Lu Huaijin couldn’t reach her tomorrow, he would definitely call the police.

So she decided to trust them and gave them the address near the black market.

Xu Tianfei, with Zhou Min, smartly sat in the back to give them a chance to talk.

“I want to sell my house. It’s in my mother’s name, but my dad remarried a stepmother who treats me poorly. She’s forcing me to go to the countryside. I have to leave tomorrow.”

She admitted she had made the situation sound worse than it was, but it was the truth.

The man thought for a moment before responding, “Where is your house?”

“At the textile factory’s family compound.”

He frowned. It wasn’t easy to handle.

“Right now, the family compound can’t be bought or sold, only rented out. How about we sign a rental contract? I can help you with that. Your house will still be yours when you come back.”
