Geno didn’t respond to Xie Cheng’s calls, nor did he move. He continued to sit in place, turning his head to the side, but his mind was still occupied with the image of Xie Cheng’s smile, which was brighter than the sun. How could he look even better the more he saw him?
It was clear that the reason was that he hadn’t seen a female in a long time. As a fully grown male, was it really true, as the older generation had said, that the more mature the body, the less resistance one had to instinctual attraction to females?
“Geno, come here…”
“Geno…”
“Hey!”
When Xie Cheng saw that Geno turned his head, he called a few more times. After a while, the male beastman, clearly growing impatient from the disturbance, finally stood up, furrowing his brows as he walked over. Just when Xie Cheng was secretly pleased, Geno stopped again, about ten meters away.
“…”
Xie Cheng’s mouth twitched, feeling like swearing. This was really frustrating. It wasn’t like he was a woman—did this big guy really need to be so awkward about it? He still wanted him to come closer and prove that he was a man, not a female. Hmph!
This kind of overly formal and reserved behavior seemed completely out of place on a large, muscular beastman, right?
“What do you want from me?” Geno asked stiffly, his face devoid of expression. In his heart, Xie Cheng couldn’t help but complain: What a shame, such a perfect body wasted on such a clumsy soul. The heavens are blind.
But in order to hold on to this strong thigh, Xie Cheng smiled and said, “Nothing. I just wanted you to come closer so we could talk. I still want to soak in the water a little longer, but it’s so inconvenient with you so far away. Heh heh…”
Before he could finish speaking, he saw Geno glaring at him with visible displeasure. Xie Cheng couldn’t help but curse internally, but still plastered a smile on his face and said:
“I’m not familiar with this place. I just want to get to know the situation here. Is that okay?”
“What do you want to ask?”
Geno kept his expression blank, but inwardly, he began to speculate. Looking at the clean and neat Xie Cheng, he thought Xie Cheng probably wasn’t abandoned… Maybe he came from a distant tribe that passed through the area, and this willful female accidentally wandered in. After all, such a good-looking female would be hard for any tribe to abandon, even if they were a little foolish.
It was a classic case of the importance of good looks.
Xie Cheng licked his lips, pondering for a moment before speaking:
“I’m not familiar with this place, but for certain reasons, I might need to stay here for a while. I hope you can guide me… Heh heh…”
He felt a little awkward about lowering himself to ask for help like this, especially considering his high status on Earth. It was the first time he had to do something like this.
“…”
Geno didn’t say anything, only furrowing his brows as he observed him, trying to figure out if he was telling the truth. If Xie Cheng really planned to stay, Geno wouldn’t have a problem taking him in.
Not receiving a response, Xie Cheng felt even more awkward. His face flushed a little, but he had to keep going for the bigger picture:
“… Um, I won’t be a bother to you. It’s just you here, right? I could keep you company or something…”
His face was burning up. He was completely in “please take care of me” mode now. How was he supposed to ask for help like this without feeling embarrassed? The big guy didn’t even grunt. This was so awkward.
“… Mhm, you can stay.”
When Xie Cheng mentioned keeping him company, Geno felt his heart skip a beat, but remembering what was said earlier, he knew that Xie Cheng’s meaning was different from what he might have imagined, so he nodded stiffly.
“Thank you.”
Xie Cheng let out a sigh of relief. He had successfully attached himself to this strong thigh, even though it was super awkward. A high-ranking commander of a special forces unit, reduced to pleading for support like this… Ha ha, it was truly embarrassing. If this were on Earth, it’d be all over the news.
“Uh, when I came in, I overheard the Angel tribe talking about a demon deep in the Misty Forest. Do you know anything about that?”
Now that he had secured his position, Xie Cheng changed the subject. His brow furrowed as he waited for Geno’s response.
