DLSRWAR Chapter 57 We haven’t seen each other for nearly half our lives.
Car Number 11 crossed the finish line first.
Hao Jiajia stood up excitedly, “Brother Han, you were amazing!”
Qin Yumian remained composed in her seat, but a faint smile graced her lips.
The car door opened, and the young man stepped out with long strides, exuding an air of elegance, like a prince emerging from a palace.
Ye Hancheng immediately looked toward Qin Yumian, his eyes sparkling with a brilliant smile, as if to arrogantly ask her: How about it? Am I handsome?
Qin Yumian: “…”
Seeing the young man’s confident and flamboyant demeanor, Qin Yumian couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
Old Third Lin, having lost the bet, agreed to find and deliver all the rare comics from the past ten years to Ye’s residence.
After the race, Old Third Lin organized everyone to go to a bar.
Ye Hancheng declined. He had just seen Qin Yumian yawn, and she must have been tired.
Ye Hancheng said, “You guys go ahead. I’ll take Class Monitor Qin and the others back to rest.”
After parting ways with Old Third Lin and the others, Ye Hancheng drove Qin Yumian and Hao Jiajia to Jade Moon Bay.
The four-story European-style villa stood in the center of the garden, with a simple yet grand design. The car drove through the ornate gate and stopped at the entrance.
Aunt Wen, who had already received the news, stood on the steps, waiting quietly.
Seeing the black Cayenne stop, Aunt Wen greeted them with a warm smile, “Little Young Master.”
“Aunt Wen, what are you doing here?” Ye Hancheng asked, surprised.
He hadn’t called Aunt Wen, so how did she know to come?
Aunt Wen replied with a smile, “It was the Eldest Young Master who asked me to come.”
As she spoke, Aunt Wen’s gaze subtly shifted to the two girls behind Ye Hancheng.
So… which one was the person that Little Young Master likes?
“The Eldest Young Master said you would be bringing classmates to stay at Jade Moon Bay for a few days, so I came to take care of things.”
Ye Hancheng immediately introduced, “Aunt Wen, this is my classmate from Sangcheng, Hao Jiajia.”
When introducing Qin Yumian, the young man’s tone and expression became much more affectionate, “This is our class monitor, Qin Yumian.”
Having watched Ye Hancheng grow up, Aunt Wen understood his expression right away. “Hello, you all came from afar; you must be tired. Come inside and have a seat.”
Qin Yumian politely nodded, “Thank you, Aunt Wen.”
Hao Jiajia followed suit, “Sorry for the trouble.”
Seeing the girl’s well-mannered and thoughtful demeanor, Aunt Wen’s feelings toward her grew fonder, and her smile became even more amiable, “I’ll go prepare some fruit for you.”
Aunt Wen then turned and went to the kitchen to get busy.
As soon as Hao Jiajia stepped into the house, the soft carpet underfoot and the aura of wealth that greeted her made her feel as if she had stepped into a fairyland, full of surprise and novelty.
Isn’t this place too big?
At the entrance, after changing her shoes and looking at the bright, clean floors, Hao Jiajia hesitated to step forward.
Qin Yumian remained calm throughout, silently listening as Ye Hancheng explained the layout of the house.
Though the villa seemed to have only four floors, there was an additional floor underground, which housed the garage and a spacious entertainment room.
Ye Hancheng gave Hao Jiajia a nod, “Hao Jiajia, you’ll stay on the second floor, and Class Monitor Qin will stay on the third.”
Hao Jiajia was stunned for a moment but quickly understood and nodded, “Okay.”
Qin Yumian had no objections to the arrangement.
Aunt Wen brought a beautifully arranged platter of fruit to the coffee table and cheerfully asked what everyone wanted for dinner.
Hao Jiajia quickly responded, “I’m not picky.”
Qin Yumian was about to say she would eat anything, but Ye Hancheng preempted her by ordering a large variety of dishes.
Sweet and sour ribs, Longjing shrimp, stir-fried eggplant, West Lake vinegar fish…
At first, Qin Yumian didn’t think much of it, but as the young man continued to order dish after dish, she finally realized something was off.
The dishes Ye Hancheng ordered were all her favorites…
Aunt Wen noted down the orders and then went into the kitchen to start preparing dinner.
Hao Jiajia cleverly asked, “Brother Han, can I look around?”
“Sure,” Ye Hancheng gave Hao Jiajia a thumbs-up from behind.
Hao Jiajia hurried upstairs, leaving only Qin Yumian and Ye Hancheng in the living room.
The young man, facing Qin Yumian, unconsciously leaned closer to her, “Class Monitor Qin, how do you think I performed on the track just now? Was I particularly handsome?”
Seeing the young man, who clearly had plenty of space on the sofa, still insisting on crowding next to her, Qin Yumian pursed her lips and said, “Yes, very handsome.”
Didn’t he see that the audience kept calling him “Second Young Master Ye” when he got out of the car?
Hearing his little wife praise him, Ye Hancheng’s eyes sparkled with joy, as if he were a dog being praised by its owner.
Qin Yumian thought: If the young man had a tail, it would be wagging by now.
Ye Hancheng suddenly became serious, his expression turning earnest, “Class Monitor Qin, do you know how long we’ve been apart?”
Qin Yumian thought for a moment, “Nine days.”
Ye Hancheng had left Sangcheng the day after the holiday started.
“One day apart feels like three autumns. We’ve been apart for nine days, which is like twenty-seven autumns—almost half a lifetime,” the young man said with a hint of grievance. “We haven’t seen each other for so long, don’t you want to give me a long-awaited hug, Class Monitor Qin?”
Qin Yumian replied, “…I don’t want to.”
No sooner had she spoken, than the young man grabbed her arm, and she turned her head in confusion.
The next moment, Ye Hancheng pulled her into his embrace with force.
Due to the momentum, Qin Yumian’s face ended up pressed against the young man’s chest.
She heard his clean, deep voice beside her ear, “But I do.”
I want to see you, I want to hug you…
Qin Yumian was taken aback for a moment, and when she came to her senses, she tried to pull away from his embrace. However, the young man held her tightly around the waist, burying his face in her neck, his warm breath tingling against her delicate skin.
“Just hold on for a while, Class Monitor Qin…” the young man whispered, “Just for a little while.”
She hesitated but eventually allowed him to hold her.
After a minute, Qin Yumian asked, “Have you had enough of hugging?”
Ye Hancheng actually wanted to hold on a bit longer, but he knew that if he did, his wife would definitely get upset. So, he reluctantly let go.
Seeing the young man’s disappointed expression, Qin Yumian couldn’t help but feel her heart soften. She curved her brows into a smile, and her almond-shaped eyes seemed to be filled with countless stars.
Every time Ye Hancheng saw his wife smile, his mind felt like it was wrapped in silk, unable to think clearly.
It was only when a phone rang that his thoughts were pulled away from his wife’s beautiful face.
Ye Hancheng answered the call—it was from his old father.
“Hello? Dad, what’s up?”
“Where are you?”
“Jade Moon Bay.”
“Why did you go there?” The old father murmured on the other end of the line, “Forget it, stay there and don’t leave. I’ll come over right away.”
Ye Hancheng asked, “What are you coming for?”
“To see my son,” The old father said, “You haven’t seen me for over a month. Don’t you miss your dad?”
Ye Hancheng replied expressionlessly, “No, I don’t.”
“Alright, alright, alright. You don’t miss your old man, but the old man misses you, okay?” Ye Jingyuan said, “Fortunately, I thought of you and even brought a gift.”
