Mr. He Called Off His Engagement Banquet for His True Love, I’m Not Marrying Him Anymore Chapter 4

Chapter 4: Using a Crow’s Mouth to Curse Qin An

Xu Xingran clenched her fists tightly.

Her heart ached, suffocating with each beat.

The cancellation of the engagement had left her humiliated.

But she had also come to a realization.

She could never warm He Hansheng’s heart.

If he truly cared for her, Qin An would never dare to be so disrespectful to her.

The truth was, she had always been the one to lower herself, to humble herself, and place herself in an utterly submissive position, which allowed those around He Hansheng to act without restraint.

Before loving someone else, you must first love yourself.

Xu Xingran gave him a faint smile, then pointed toward the second floor of her small villa.

“Look, what’s that?”

Qin An looked up.

When he saw what was hanging above, his pupils contracted in shock.

It was a surveillance camera.

Xu Xingran crossed her arms, watching him with a half-smile, half-amused expression.

“Tell me, what do you think would happen if I sent a recording of your behavior just now to He Hansheng, or posted it online? You’re nothing but an expensive dog He Hansheng keeps, so who gave you the courage to act like you’re in charge?”

“I’ll say this once: I’m done with He Hansheng. I don’t want anything to do with him or the people around him anymore. Get out now, and I’ll pretend you were never here.”

“Otherwise, your behavior will be exposed to the whole internet world.”

Qin An’s face was full of anger.

He never expected the usually pliant Xu Xingran to stand up for herself like this.

She was threatening him?

His harsh attitude toward her had always been tolerated without issue, but this situation was different.

It couldn’t be allowed to escalate.

Especially not to the point where He Hansheng found out.

After all, Xu Xingran was still officially his fiancée.

Qin An’s disrespect toward her was, in his mind, a way of belittling He Hansheng.

He shot a glare at the camera and spat out a harsh warning.

“You better follow through on your threat and never return to He Hansheng’s side. You should know your place—you’re nothing compared to Miss Xia. You’re not worthy of He Hansheng!”

Xu Xingran’s face darkened with cold fury.

“Get out!”

She had already given up on He Hansheng, but hearing the name Xia Qingqing still made her feel a knot in her chest.

She truly wasn’t as good as Xia Qingqing.

Otherwise, why would He Hansheng keep abandoning her time and time again?

Qin An turned around and left.

If it weren’t for He Hansheng’s orders, he wouldn’t have set foot in this desolate place.

Xu Xingran chased him to the door, a malicious smile playing on her lips.

“Watch out, you might fall and eat dirt!”

No sooner had the words left her mouth than Qin An, in an absurdly awkward position, fell to the ground, face-first.

Xu Xingran covered her face, stifling her laughter.

Qin An had taken quite a hard fall.

By the time he managed to lift his head, his face was bruised and swollen.

He shot her a murderous glare.

“Jinx!”

He then grabbed his face, limping as he walked away, his anger clear in every step.

Xu Xingran’s eyes lit up with immense surprise.

Her power had returned!

Since childhood, Xu Xingran had possessed a unique ability—”word magic.” It was an unpredictable skill, one that worked when she spoke well, but always manifested when she spoke poorly.

This was the so-called “jinxed mouth.”

When she first arrived in the capital, she had used her power recklessly, causing all sorts of trouble.

He Hansheng didn’t like it and often scolded her for using her “jinxed mouth” to cause issues.

Over time, she began to doubt herself, even despise the skill.

And so, her jinxed ability disappeared.

But now… it had returned!

In fact, over the past few days, she had felt a vague sense of something returning.

Earlier, she had just tested it with Qin An.

To her surprise, it really came true.

Originally, Qin An would have only tripped and fallen.

But with the immense malice he had shown toward Xu Xingran…

The “buff” stacked up.

A bruised face and a hurt leg!

Xu Xingran muttered to his retreating figure, “Serves you right!”

Then, she went back to her cozy little courtyard, leisurely continuing her gardening.

After all, there was no way they’d be able to contact her.

She had tossed her phone into the moat when she left the capital.

Now, she’d bought a new one, along with a random SIM card, all without registration.

Even with all of He Hansheng’s resources, he wouldn’t be able to find her.

Of course, she wasn’t expecting him to look, either.

Qin An, injured, climbed into his car and called He Hansheng.

“Sir, Miss Xu isn’t willing to come back.”

There was a long silence on the other end.

Cautiously, Qin An added, “Sir, maybe it’s best to just let her be, if she doesn’t want to—”

“Qin An!”

He Hansheng’s cold voice cut through, instantly silencing him.

He Hansheng’s voice was cold and commanding.

“Figure it out. Bring her back. You can beg if you have to.”

With that, he ended the call, leaving Qin An sitting pale-faced in the car. His grip tightened on the phone.

Orders from He Hansheng were not to be ignored.

For one, He paid him well.

On the other hand, he needed to stay by He Hansheng’s side to keep tabs for Xia Qingqing.

Taking a deep breath, Qin An braced himself.

Endure.

Once again, Xu Xingran heard knocking at the door, and this time, she was certain it must be the delivery of her fertilizer.

But when she opened it, she was greeted by Qin An’s bruised and swollen face. Instantly, her good mood vanished.

“Why haven’t you left yet?”

Qin An swallowed his pride, and with visible frustration, bowed deeply to her.

“Miss Xu, my attitude was out of line earlier. Please be the bigger person and forgive me. Mr. He truly cares about you; he’s waiting for you back in the capital. Won’t you come back with me?”

Xu Xingran couldn’t help but admire Qin An’s ability to bend when needed. She had humiliated him earlier, yet here he was, humbly pleading with her.

Truly, nothing works wonders quite like the paychecks of the wealthy.
