Chapter 170: The Secret of the Space
Ling Yao walked forward, took Lu Qingyun’s hand, and winked playfully at him, “I’ll take you to a special place.”
As soon as Ling Yao finished speaking, Lu Qingyun felt a strange force enveloping him.
His body became light as a feather, as if it had lost its weight.
Then, the scene before him changed drastically.
The familiar surroundings instantly disappeared, replaced by endless, towering mountains.
The peaks stood like giants on the earth, giving a sense of infinite majesty.
Between the mountains were vast, boundless medicinal gardens, where all kinds of exotic flowers and plants competed for beauty, emitting a refreshing fragrance that made people feel refreshed and invigorated.
A nimble figure ran towards them like lightning.
“Woof woof!” Xinghuo excitedly ran around them, barking and jumping, as if welcoming their arrival.
“What is this place?” Lu Qingyun retracted his gaze, turned to look at Ling Yao beside him, his eyes full of confusion and bewilderment.
Ling Yao smiled slightly, “This is my space. I’ll show you around.”
She took Lu Qingyun’s hand and walked forward with him.
Lu Qingyun looked curiously at the surroundings as he walked. Everything here was so unfamiliar and novel, as if he was in a completely different world.
“Yaoyao, how did you get this space?” Lu Qingyun was full of curiosity.
He didn’t expect Yaoyao to have her own independent space. It was amazing!
Ling Yao smiled slightly, “This space is in the jade pendant I wear. I accidentally opened it.
Here, time flows differently from the outside world. Come on, I’ll take you to a good place.”
“Okay!” Lu Qingyun nodded, his heart filled with interest in this magical space.
Ling Yao led Lu Qingyun through a dense forest to the edge of a crystal-clear lake.
The water shimmered, reflecting the clouds in the sky and the distant mountains, a breathtaking sight.
“This place is so beautiful!” Lu Qingyun couldn’t help but exclaim, awestruck by the beauty before him.
Ling Yao took Lu Qingyun’s hand and sat down by the lake with him, quietly admiring the picturesque scenery,
“Xinghuo discovered this lake. I didn’t know there was such a beautiful place in my space.”
“Woof woof!” Hearing Ling Yao’s words, Xinghuo proudly raised its head and ran happily around them.
Ling Yao showed a doting smile, gently stroked Xinghuo’s furry head, and took out a few crystal-clear pills and gave them to it.
Xinghuo immediately barked excitedly, raised its head and opened its mouth, quickly swallowing the pills.
After eating, it happily wagged its tail and barked at Ling Yao twice, as if expressing its gratitude.
“Yaoyao.”
“Hmm?” Ling Yao turned to look at Lu Qingyun.
Lu Qingyun looked at Ling Yao with a serious expression, his tone heavy as he warned,
“You absolutely cannot tell anyone about your space, not even your closest people. Understand?”
Once this secret was revealed, it would undoubtedly bring endless trouble and danger to Yaoyao.
Ling Yao smiled and nodded, “Don’t worry, I understand the risks. I won’t tell anyone this secret except you.”
She knew the meaning of “a precious jewel brings its own misfortune.”
Lu Qingyun gently pulled Ling Yao into his arms, his gaze gentle and serious as he looked at her,
“From now on, no matter what secrets you have, don’t tell me, even me. I just want you to be safe and sound.”
“Okay!” Ling Yao nodded obediently, leaning her head against Lu Qingyun’s warm and strong embrace.
The two embraced silently, immersed in each other’s warm embrace.
Time passed quietly, and it wasn’t until the next morning that Ling Yao and Lu Qingyun left the space.
Lu Qingyun found that he wasn’t tired at all after a night without sleep, instead, he felt refreshed and energetic.
He couldn’t help but marvel at the magic of this space.
“I’m going to the army.” Lu Qingyun lowered his head and gently kissed Ling Yao’s forehead. He couldn’t bear to let her go, then he strode towards the door.
Just as he stepped out of the courtyard, he was stopped by Zhou Li.
Zhou Li “plop!” knelt down in front of Lu Qingyun, tears in her eyes, her voice choked with emotion as she pleaded,
“Captain Lu! It was all my fault yesterday. Please don’t kick me out of the family quarters.
If we leave here, my son and I will have no way to survive. Captain Lu, please, have mercy on us…”
Ling Yao heard the commotion and walked out. Seeing Zhou Li kneeling in front of Lu Qingyun, she walked over.
Lu Qingyun looked at Zhou Li coldly, “Old Yang is gone, you should have left the family quarters.
The higher-ups have already arranged a residence for you and Xiao Yu in your hometown.
You should leave tomorrow.” He went out yesterday to deal with this matter.
Zhou Li’s intentions towards him were impure, and he naturally couldn’t leave this hidden danger here to annoy them.
Besides, what he was doing was in accordance with the regulations.
“I don’t want to leave. Please, let me stay in the family quarters. As long as I can stay in the family quarters, I’m willing to do anything.”
Zhou Li was covered in tears, begging bitterly, her eyes filled with despair and helplessness.
If she went back, she would have nothing, and she would have to take care of a child. How would she live?
But staying in the family quarters was different. Even if she couldn’t marry Lu Qingyun, she could still find a soldier in the future.
“This is a decision from above, even if you beg me, it’s no use.” Lu Qingyun finished, turned to Ling Yao and smiled faintly,
“You go inside. I’ll leave after you go inside.” He was worried that if he left, Zhou Li would give Yaoyao trouble.
“Okay.” Ling Yao nodded and turned to walk inside.
At this time, Zhou Li suddenly stood up and took a knife from her pocket. Her eyes were fierce as she charged towards Ling Yao,
“This is all because of you, you’re going to die!”
“Yaoyao, be careful!” Seeing this, Lu Qingyun’s face changed. He rushed forward to try to take the blade from Zhou Li’s hand.
Ling Yao reacted quickly. She quickly dodged to the side, and at lightning speed, she tightly grasped Zhou Li’s wrist holding the knife, then she suddenly exerted force and twisted it.
In an instant, a crisp “crack” sound rang out, chilling to the bone.
“Ah~” Then, Zhou Li’s heart-wrenching screams followed.
“What happened?”
“Who’s yelling?”
Hearing the commotion, someone ran out from the house.
Zhou Li was in so much pain that she was sweating cold. She glared at Ling Yao resentfully, gritting her teeth and saying,
“It’s all because of you. If it wasn’t for you, Captain Lu would have married me.”
