TITLE: Don’t bully others
Ji Chenai initially thought that Zhou Yaoyun would reconcile with him the next day. However, three or four days passed, and Zhou Yaoyun didn’t initiate a single conversation with him unless absolutely necessary. Most of the time, he wore a sullen expression, unwilling to say anything beyond the bare minimum.
At first, Ji Chenai didn’t take it seriously, but as he realized that Zhou Yaoyun was genuinely upset, he had no choice but to take the initiative to apologize, admitting that he shouldn’t have kept things from him.
Zhou Yaoyun who was bowing his head to wash clothes, turned to look at Ji Chenai upon hearing the apology. “Brother, do you really understand your mistake?”
Ji Chenai had never faced a situation like this before. Under Zhou Yaoyun’s serious gaze, he felt inexplicably guilty and simply replied, “Um.”
Zhou Yaoyun turned back, wiping his hands dry on his apron before squatting down to meet Ji Chenai’s somewhat evasive eyes. “Brother, just a few days ago, you promised me that if you were bullied, you’d tell me, right?”
Ji Chenai replied, “…Yes.”
Zhou Yaoyun suddenly reached out and gently ruffled Ji Chenai’s slightly disheveled hair. “Brother, will you trust me? I will protect you.”
In that moment, Zhou Yaoyun didn’t seem like a typical nineteen-year-old boy; his eyes were filled with unwavering determination, so much so that Ji Chenai felt his resolve as well.
After some time and effort, Ji Chenai’s positive energy level had risen to over three hundred and was nearing four hundred, and it kept increasing. Even on days when he did nothing, he could still hear the notifications indicating that his energy level was rising.
Xiao Qi explained this phenomenon by saying, “The person you’ve influenced is doing good deeds, so it counts as positive energy you’ve contributed to the world.”
Ji Chenai then asked. “What if the person I’ve changed does something bad?”
Xiao Qi giggled and replied, “Well, they believe in the theory of inherent evil!”
Ji Chenai couldn’t help but laugh at Xiao Qi’s response. He realized that this system had a rather rebellious streak.
After making peace with Zhou Yaoyun, Ji Chenai resumed his routine of collecting garbage. For several days, he didn’t run into the group of mischievous kids he’d encountered before. He assumed the matter was over. But one day, when he went outside, he ran into the little girl who had run away last time.
Since Xiao Qi had mentioned that the girl bore him no ill will, which was why she hadn’t transformed like the others, Ji Chenai had a fairly positive impression of her. Noticing her timidly following him, he stopped, turned around, and asked. “Do you need something?”
The little girl was startled when Ji Chenai suddenly stopped. She glanced around nervously, only relaxing a bit when she saw the streets were full of people. Still, she hesitated and didn’t approach him.
Seeing that she wasn’t responding, Ji Chenai asked again. “Do you need something?”
