Xu Xingran crossed her arms, looking at him with a mocking smile.
“Satisfied?”
He Hansheng looked at his phone. Xu Xingran had called him, so why didn’t he receive it?
Why did Xu Xingran’s side say his phone was in a call?
Xu Xingran saw the puzzled expression on his face and kindly reminded him.
“You’ve blocked me.”
He Hansheng was struck as if by lightning, his cold eyebrows furrowed.
He remembered that there was a period when he found Xu Xingran annoying, feeling that she called all day long, making him unable to rest, so he directly blocked her.
He told her to contact his assistant if she needed anything.
That way, his world became a bit more peaceful.
How long ago was this?
Or two years ago?
He couldn’t remember.
He opened his blacklist in front of Xu Xingran.
Xu Xingran’s phone number lay there alone.
Xu Xingran saw it too.
She sneered.
Feeling unworthy for her past self.
If there were others in his blacklist, she could still comfort herself.
But his blacklist only had her.
How could this not be considered a form of favoritism?
Xu Xingran lazily laughed, looking at He Hansheng with a mocking smile.
“Can I rest now? Can you leave?”
He Hansheng’s throat moved, and a sour feeling welled up in his heart.
He looked into Xu Xingran’s eyes, attempting to explain for the first time, “I forgot…”
Xu Xingran immediately made a stopping gesture with her hand, her pretty face full of impatience.
“Stop! That’s your business, it has nothing to do with me. I just want to rest now, OK?”
With that, Xu Xingran impatiently closed the door.
Leaving He Hansheng standing at the door.
He Hansheng looked at the closed door, suddenly feeling powerless.
He rubbed his temples wearily.
The reason he blocked Xu Xingran was that he was very busy with work, but Xu Xingran’s calls were incessant, and he simply didn’t have the energy to deal with them.
So he blocked her.
Telling her to contact his assistant if she needed anything.
He also told his assistant that there was no need to report anything unimportant to him.
Just handle it.
Later, when things were settled, he actually forgot to unblock Xu Xingran.
Perhaps… he subconsciously felt that this way was more peaceful and leisurely.
He forgot about it entirely afterward.
This wasn’t really a big deal.
If she really needed something from him, she could contact him through WeChat.
If it was urgent, she could find his assistant.
He just didn’t expect that Qin An would be so insincere.
When she asked Qin An for help, not only did he not help, but he also humiliated her.
It was clear that this wasn’t the first time such a thing had happened, given how skillfully she made the second call.
He Hansheng suddenly realized that he had been very indifferent to Xu Xingran.
At first, he wondered why Xu Xingran didn’t want to call him.
It was because the calls wouldn’t go through.
And she couldn’t get help from the people around her.
So, she turned to her senior for help.
All of this was his fault.
He had done a poor job and had been too indifferent to her.
Xu Xingran’s anger this time was justified.
He Hansheng took out his phone and called Lu Juan.
“Are you home?”
Lu Juan: “Yes.”
“I need to speak to your sister. Can you give her the phone?”
Lu Juan handed the phone to Lu Sisi.
“He Hansheng wants to talk to you.”
Lu Sisi tugged at the corner of her mouth, “What does he want with me?”
Lu Juan helplessly said, “Just take the call and you’ll know.”
Lu Sisi took the phone.
“You want to talk to me?”
He Hansheng asked her, “You’re close with Xu Xingran, you should know what she likes. Tell me, I want to make her happy.”
Lu Sisi reacted as if she had heard a huge joke.
“She wants freedom and to break up with you. Just break up with her, she’ll be very happy. Other than that, she doesn’t need anything.”
It had to be said that Lu Sisi, understanding Xu Xingran, completely articulated her demands.
Lu Juan slapped her forehead.
“Don’t talk nonsense. Be serious.”
Lu Sisi sneered, “Was I joking? I’m telling the truth! When Xingran liked him, he did nothing. Now that she doesn’t like him anymore, he’s doing all these useless things. The child is dead and he comes to breastfeed, what’s the use? Now pretending to be deeply in love, the breakup isn’t even clean!”
After saying that, Lu Sisi directly shoved the phone into Lu Juan’s hand.
She didn’t bother with He Hansheng at all.
She admitted that if He Hansheng wasn’t her best friend’s boyfriend, if he were the powerful He Hansheng of the imperial capital, with an unparalleled aura, Lu Sisi would admire him, revere him, and respect him.
But He Hansheng’s first identity in her eyes was Xu Xingran’s boyfriend.
And in this role, He Hansheng was doing a terrible job.
At least, as her best friend, she didn’t approve of him.
Lu Juan helplessly watched Lu Sisi go upstairs and said to He Hansheng, “She’s just talking nonsense, don’t take it to heart.”
He Hansheng gave a cold response and then hung up the phone.
He glanced at the closed door of Xu Xingran’s room upstairs and sighed helplessly.
He called his assistant Hu Fei.
“Find someone to arrange an engagement banquet even grander than the last one, use the highest specifications for everything.”
Hu Fei’s heart trembled.
She still instinctively asked, “Are you redoing the engagement banquet?”
“Yes.”
“With… whom?”
It couldn’t be Xu Xingran, right?
He Hansheng’s voice was cold.
“Who else could it be? Who else but Xu Xingran?”
Hu Fei quickly responded.
“Yes, I understand.”
He Hansheng said coldly, “Go do it immediately, every detail must be perfect.”
“Yes!”
Even after hanging up the phone, Hu Fei found it unbelievable.
He Hansheng was actually going to redo the engagement banquet with Xu Xingran, and make it even grander and more elaborate.
No, she couldn’t let the engagement banquet happen.
She quickly called Xia Qingqing.
“Hello, Miss Xia, there’s a situation here I need to tell you about…”
