Ling Yao answered all of Jiang Yu’s questions clearly and logically.

Jiang Yu nodded in satisfaction, “You can go back now. If anything happens, I’ll have someone call you over.”

“Okay, thank you, Leader!” Ling Yao nodded and pulled Ma Meifang out of the office.

Zhao Lin bit her lip in resentment and followed Ling Yao and Ma Meifang. She thought Ling Yao would be criticized, but the leader just asked a few questions and let her go. Had she been beaten for nothing?

Ling Xuemei’s eyes softened as they fell on Ling Yao. Her eyes were full of loving smiles, “Get in.”

Ling Yao nodded, got in the car, and closed the door.

Ling Xuemei took a lunch box from beside her and handed it to her, “You haven’t had breakfast yet, have you? Mom made you some osmanthus-flavored lotus root. Eat some to fill your stomach.”

“Thank you, Mom!” Ling Yao happily took the lunch box and playfully blinked at Ling Xuemei.

Ling Xuemei shook her head, her eyes full of affection, as she looked at her daughter’s cute appearance.

Ling Yao opened the lunch box, and a rich aroma filled her nostrils. It was a unique sweet scent of glutinous rice and lotus root, making her mouth water.

She couldn’t wait to pick up a piece of lotus root and put it in her mouth. Instantly, the sweet flavor filled her mouth.

“Is it delicious?” Ling Xuemei took out a handkerchief and gently wiped the corner of Ling Yao’s mouth.

“Of course it’s delicious. How could anything Mom makes not be delicious?” Ling Yao smiled and acted cute.

Ling Xuemei affectionately tapped Ling Yao’s nose.

The car sped along the road.

In less than half an hour, they arrived at Beijing’s largest department store.

“Your mother-in-law will be here later. Let’s wait for her upstairs.” Ling Xuemei and Lu’s Mother now had a very good relationship. They often went shopping and chatted together. They were as close as sisters.
