Chapter 37
Han Luofeng brought the little cat back to his single-family villa in Sky City. This was where he usually lived, and aside from the regular cleaning staff who came by at set times, it was just him there most of the time.
Since he didn’t expect to bring the little cat back, Han Luofeng hadn’t prepared anything in advance. So, after returning to the villa, he prepared some fresh meat strips for the little cat, then opened his smart device and began shopping online for the cat’s essentials.
The little cat sat lazily on Han Luofeng’s lap, waiting for him to feed her.
Han Luofeng used clean tongs to pick up a small piece of meat and held it up to the little cat’s mouth. She opened her mouth and slowly chewed the meat, swallowing it bit by bit.
As he watched her eat, Han Luofeng pointed at a product on the screen across from him. “Do you like this cat bed?”
The little white cat, holding the meat strip in her paws, lazily looked up for a moment.
The cat bed Han Luofeng selected was pink, matching the color of the little cat’s paws. It was shaped like a flower with petals around the edge, a common design where the center dips down, making it soft and cozy, as though the cat were sleeping inside a flower.
Han Luofeng thought it was perfect, this way, he could place the bed by the head of his bed, and whenever the little cat slept, he would be able to see her.
It also wouldn’t affect him from petting her head.
The little white cat also liked the bed. It looked very comfortable, so she nodded. Han Luofeng added it to the shopping cart.
Then, he bought a lot of other cat supplies, of course including a cat climbing frame, some special cat food, a blanket, and even clothes.
He bought a bunch of things in total and chose the fastest delivery option.
In less than an hour, the merchant sent the items over by aircraft. By then, the little cat had already eaten and drank her fill, curling up in Han Luofeng’s arms, sleepy and drowsy.
In order to make sure the little cat wouldn’t feel uncomfortable, Han Luofeng specifically wore soft, smooth silk loungewear. Holding the little cat like this made her feel comfortable too.
Actually, Qing Liu felt that no matter how comfortable it was, it couldn’t compare to the golden-haired tiger’s comfort.
Once Han Luofeng had arranged everything he bought and turned the entire second floor into a playground for the cat, with a huge climbing frame extending from the second floor all the way down to the first floor, the little cat could even slide down from the small slide made into the climbing frame when she was on the second floor.
He asked the little cat, “Do you like this climbing frame?”
Qing Liu lazily looked up for a moment and thought that this climbing frame was really more like a playground for children.
However, she did quite like it.
So, she nodded.
But then she quickly thought, she would only be staying here for the next couple of days. Once she changed back into her human form, she would leave. So why had Han Luofeng turned his house into something like this?
But maybe the golden-haired tiger would like it?
Qing Liu didn’t think much about it. She had eaten her fill and just wanted to sleep. She needed to rest well and recover her mental energy as quickly as possible.
Although her healing powers were very effective, to be honest, the mental energy level of this body was just too low. In the future, unless absolutely necessary, she wouldn’t use her powers recklessly.
Moreover, this world didn’t have any powers, so she couldn’t let anyone discover this secret. What if she was sent to a lab for dissection?
Once Qing Liu had thought things through, she no longer felt any attachment to these things that didn’t belong to her.
After all, no matter how much she liked them, they weren’t hers. Oh well, time to sleep.
Han Luofeng had originally wanted the little cat to try out the slide, but when he glanced down, he saw that she had already started purring and was fast asleep.
He couldn’t help but smile helplessly, his gaze soft as he looked at the little cat sleeping in his arms. He slowly walked upstairs, placed the flower-shaped cat bed he had just bought and cleaned beside his pillow, and then carefully placed the little cat into it.
The little cat, like a snowball, curled up in the soft and fluffy cat bed, looking incredibly adorable.
Han Luofeng sat beside her, unable to resist reaching out to gently stroke her furry back, carefully smoothing her fur with his fingers.
After about half an hour, he reluctantly stood up and left.
Although the little cat was already asleep, it was still early, and Han Luofeng needed to investigate what had happened to Qing Liu today and help her deal with it.
After all, on the way back, he had already promised the little cat that he would get back at them.
Han Luofeng made a phone call, and within ten minutes, the other party responded.
“Mr. Han, the restaurant’s surveillance footage has been wiped. We can’t find the video. However, we’ve confirmed that around 6 PM that day, Luo Cheng went to the second-floor private room of the restaurant. At around 6:30 PM, Michelle brought Qing Liu there. Less than five minutes later, there was a violent mental energy battle on the second floor. Michelle and Luo Cheng’s two bodyguards were injured and are now being treated in the hospital.”
Han Luofeng was somewhat surprised. There had been a psychic battle, and Qing Liu had only transformed into her beast form, yet Michelle and the bodyguards were injured and hospitalized?
How had the little cat’s D-level mental energy managed to defeat them?
Han Luofeng paused for a few seconds before asking, “What about Luo Cheng?”
“He was furious and left immediately. He’s now at one of his lovers’ places.”
Luo Cheng was notorious in the social circles for his love of indulgence, with countless lovers and a particular X fetish. Though he had a bad reputation, his high status and power meant that no one dared to offend him.
Moreover, he was married, with a wife and children, and his child even attended a prestigious school in Sky City.
If Han Luofeng didn’t intervene to help Qing Liu, even though she had managed to escape for now, Luo Cheng would definitely find other ways to deal with her in the future.
After all, someone like Qing Liu, who came from a barren star with no background and a low level of mental energy, was nothing in Luo Cheng’s eyes.
Among Luo Cheng’s many lovers, some were voluntary, but most were not. Although Luo Cheng had a good appearance, he was not generous to his lovers, and every time he left, his lovers were left with bruises and scars.
Just thinking about the fact that the little cat had been targeted by such scum made Han Luofeng feel uncomfortable all over.
After hanging up the phone, Han Luofeng stood on the balcony for a few minutes before making several calls to the Han family.
Although he had grown up enough to be independent and didn’t rely on his father, dealing with the Luo family was no small matter, and he needed to explain the situation to his father. After all, in the future, he might need to mobilize the family’s resources.
Han Luofeng’s father thought for a moment before speaking: “The Luo family? Oh, the one that develops mecha parts, right?”
Han Luofeng nodded. “Yes.”
Father Han continued: “The Luo family is in turmoil right now. The head of the family is over 200 years old and has recently been sent to the Royal Hospital in the central district for a checkup for the fifth time. From what I see, he probably won’t live much longer. As for Luo Cheng, he’s just the third son’s fifth child. With the current power struggle within the family, no one will pay attention to him.”
Whether it was due to family genes or something else, it wasn’t just Luo Cheng who loved to play. The head of the Luo family had also been a playboy in his youth, with countless lovers, which resulted in him having many children. Luo Cheng was the fifth child of the third son, and there were over a dozen recognized siblings in the family, all of whom held shares in the family’s business.
With so many people, the shares were distributed so thinly that Luo Cheng’s stinginess towards his lovers wasn’t without reason. After all, he only had the Luo family name to rely on, and his personal assets were likely very little.
Father Han’s meaning was clear: if Han Luofeng wanted to deal with Luo Cheng, then go ahead. After all, the Luo family couldn’t spare any attention for him now, since they had too many children.
The old man of the Luo family had more than a dozen children, each of whom had several children, and then there were grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Although Han Luofeng had investigated the Luo family’s situation, hearing it directly from his father still left him amazed.
It was clear: his father was the best! After hanging up the phone, Han Luofeng silently thought to himself. The Han family’s business might be smaller than the Luo family’s, but the Han family only had him as an heir. That was why his name was so famous online, even ranked as the number one man most people in the entire galaxy wanted to marry.
With his father’s support, Han Luofeng began to make his moves.
—
The little white cat was an especially deep sleeper. Han Luofeng went to bed later than her and woke up earlier. Even when he came back from his morning run, the little cat was still sleeping.
Han Luofeng personally prepared breakfast, specially tailored for the cat—goat milk that cats loved, enriched with a nutritional supplement to help recover mental strength. He also included freshly airlifted sashimi and chilled fresh fruit salad. The fruit was rich in vitamins, which were very beneficial for the cat’s fur.
For a snack after the meal, he had small square-shaped cat chew sticks made from beef, which smelled very fragrant.
Han Luofeng placed these items on a soft green dish and arranged them on the table. He also cut a few tender yellow roses from the garden and placed them in a vase on the table.
He gently walked upstairs, opened the bedroom door, and saw that the little cat had woken up at some point. She was already on the windowsill, basking in the sun.
When Han Luofeng saw this, his gaze became incredibly gentle, and his heart softened. At this moment, he felt a deep sense of happiness.
He had never imagined what his partner would look like.
During his various polar adventures, he had never once thought that one day he would have an adorable companion, a warm little nest, and even consider giving up his favorite adventurous career just to spend more time with his partner.
When you haven’t met the right person, you really never know what decisions you will make in the future.
Han Luofeng walked over. Hearing his footsteps, the little cat’s pink ears twitched. She lazily raised her head and stretched a long, lazy yawn.
Han Luofeng softly said, “When did you run over here? Aren’t you afraid of falling?”
After all, the windowsill was only about twenty centimeters wide. What if she fell?
After stretching, the little cat wagged her tail and meowed, “Mew…”
“Good morning, Da Huang.”
Qing Liu had enjoyed a good sleep and was in an excellent mood.
She said to Han Luofeng, “I feel like after taking a nap, my mental strength has improved a lot!”
Perhaps it was because her healing ability had fused with her mental strength, but she felt her recovery was much faster than before.
She added, “Ah, I feel so warm all over right now.”
Han Luofeng smiled and said, “That’s because you’ve been basking in the sun all morning, little lazy cat.”
After saying that, he reached out to pick up the little cat.
Qing Liu thought for a moment and agreed. After all, being covered in fur and basking in the sun, it wasn’t surprising that she felt warm all over.
“I’m hungry, I want to eat,” the little cat said, acting cute and soft.
Han Luofeng felt his heart soften as well. “I’ve already prepared it for you, just wait a second… Hmm?”
When Han Luofeng picked up the little cat, he suddenly felt something was off.
Qing Liu was also startled. Then, she lost control and—’pop’—in Han Luofeng’s arms, she transformed back into her human form.
Qing Liu: “!!!”
Han Luofeng: “……”
