Chapter 5: Surgery, You Can’t Mess with Medical Students
Luo Qi, the eldest son of the Luo family, was injured in the head when he was kidnapped with his sister. Due to his fierce resistance, he was thrown to the ground, leaving him with the mental capacity of a five or six-year-old.
After he woke up, he kept asking for his sister. At first, Luo’s father and Lu’s mother, searched diligently for their daughter, claiming she was sick and undergoing treatment.
Two months later, unable to find their daughter and with their son constantly asking for her, they went to an orphanage and adopted Luo Qianyun.
Initially, they wanted to give her the name Luo Xianxian, but considering their daughter might return one day, they were afraid she would be uncomfortable.
They kept the name given by the orphanage director, Luo Qianyun, and simply added the Luo family surname.
Luo Qi, however, didn’t realize his sister had been replaced. When Luo Mu said his sister had gotten sick and lost weight, he pulled Luo Qianyun behind him, saying his sister was the prettiest.
Luo Mu, of course, said this because she was afraid her son would recognize that this wasn’t his daughter. But seeing things developing as they wanted, they let it be.
For Luo Qianyun, the brother who stood in front of her protectively on her first day at the Luo family was the one who gave her the most warmth.
This warmth remained unchanged even after Pei Xianxian returned home.
If her brother thought she was dead, he would probably cry himself to sleep.
Thinking of this, Luo Qianyun couldn’t help but sigh. She just hoped her brother would remember her words and eat well, even when he was sad or heartbroken.
Luo Qianyun gathered her thoughts, confirming the anesthetic was taking effect and she couldn’t feel the pain of the wound, before taking out the suture needle and thread and disinfecting them. She began suturing…
As a surgeon, stitching up wounds was no challenge for her. But the length of this wound required eleven stitches.
Thank goodness for the anesthetic. Otherwise, she would have needed immense courage to operate on herself.
After dealing with the most significant problem, the other minor injuries on her body were simple for Luo Qianyun. They still hurt, but she could bear it.
After treating all the wounds except for her back, Luo Qianyun felt completely exhausted… and hungry.
It was already dark outside the tent. Just as she was about to eat the remaining cookies from her backpack, a voice came from outside the tent, “I made some porridge. If you’ve finished treating your wounds, eat some to replenish your energy.”
Luo Qianyun paused, silently giving him a “Good Person” card.
“Captain Lu, could you bring the porridge in? I can’t move right now.” Even if Luo Qianyun hadn’t said anything, Lu Yunzheng would have brought the porridge in. After all, he had carried her into the tent.
But not saying it directly and asking someone to bring the porridge in might sound like an order.
Even if she didn’t mean it that way, she was worried that he might be in a bad mood and think too much about it. She didn’t want to create any unnecessary trouble at this point.
Seeing Luo Qianyun’s request, Lu Yunzheng knew she had finished. He immediately filled a large bowl with white porridge and brought it into the tent.
Luo Qianyun didn’t expect him to come so quickly. She quickly covered her waist and lower body with her jacket, but the jacket was only so long, leaving her white, glowing legs exposed.
Lu Yunzheng kept his eyes straight ahead. Luo Qianyun knew he wasn’t a talkative person, so she didn’t say anything.
After finishing the large bowl of white porridge, Luo Qianyun couldn’t help but burp. She was so full…
With a full stomach, she also had the strength to move. After resting for ten minutes, she asked them to bring Hu Zi in.
Bai Minghui helped bring Hu Zi into the tent. Seeing Luo Qianyun’s face, he couldn’t help but be surprised, “I didn’t expect you to be so pretty after you washed up.”
Luo Qianyun’s heart skipped a beat. She wasn’t so much embarrassed as she was nervous.
Fortunately, Lu Yunzheng, who was standing beside her, noticed her nervousness and immediately glanced at Bai Minghui, “Shut up.”
Then he turned to Luo Qianyun and said, “Don’t worry, you’re safe now.”
Bai Minghui was initially confused by the scolding. Hearing his captain’s words to Luo Qianyun, he understood, “No, no… don’t worry, I have no bad intentions. If I dared to do anything, our captain would be the first to punish me.”
“I know, I’m just being sensitive…” Luo Qianyun quickly said.
Bai Minghui knew that Luo Qianyun had been abandoned by her companions and tried to hitchhike, only to encounter a scumbag. He couldn’t help but be curious, “You didn’t come here on a tour group, so you must have been with close friends, right? How could they leave you alone?”
Lu Yunzheng was also curious about the answer and couldn’t help but look at her.
Thinking of Lu Yan and Pei Xianxian, Luo Qianyun felt her good mood disappear. Her voice carried a hint of coldness, “I met the wrong people. I couldn’t tell they were good or bad.”
Lu Yunzheng: “They were all your friends?”
“One was an ex-boyfriend, and the other…” For a moment, Luo Qianyun didn’t know how to explain Pei Xianxian’s identity.
She was the biological daughter of the Luo family, while Luo Qianyun was just an adopted daughter.
They weren’t sisters, nor were they friends.
“You were still going out with your ex-boyfriend?” Bai Minghui was surprised.
“We broke up unilaterally last night.” Luo Qianyun.
Wow, Bai Minghui understood now. The other party ran away and directly declared a breakup.
But thinking about it, who could stand such a boyfriend?
Poor scumbags have girlfriends, while he’s still just a single dog.
Lu Yunzheng wasn’t good at comforting people, so it took him a while to say, “Out with the old, in with the new.”
Luo Qianyun was stunned by these words and couldn’t help but laugh, “Actually, if you think about it from another perspective, I’m lucky. I not only saw through the scumbag, but I also met you guys.”
Looking at Luo Qianyun’s smile, Lu Yunzheng couldn’t help but be slightly dazed.
He realized his own unusual reaction and couldn’t help but frown. Why was he…
Luo Qianyun didn’t notice Lu Yunzheng’s abnormality, as they weren’t really familiar with each other.
After they left, Luo Qianyun cleaned Tiger’s bloody wound. Although Lu Yunzheng and the others had treated it before, it was clear they weren’t professional.
After making sure she had cleaned the wound, Luo Qianyun gave him the remaining two-thirds of the anesthetic.
But thinking about it, he would probably wake up in pain later. She immediately called Lu Yunzheng and Bai Minghui back in.
“You just need to hold him down like this, right?” Bai Minghui couldn’t believe that one day he would be holding down his own brother while someone else operated on him.
Seeing him pressing down without any hesitation, Luo Qianyun quickly said, “No need to do that now. The anesthetic hasn’t taken effect yet. I haven’t started operating.”
“Just take out the bullet later. We’ll handle the rest.” Lu Yunzheng said.
“Okay.” Luo Qianyun nodded and began preparing the surgical tools she would need.
After estimating that the time was right, she disinfected the scalpel over a flame.
Bai Minghui was initially curious about how surgeons operated, but when he saw Luo Qianyun, a delicate little girl, go straight for the wound with a knife,
She was so quick, precise, and decisive, without any hesitation. It felt like she wasn’t cutting human flesh, but pork.
Thinking about it, he felt a little creeped out.
Sure enough, you can’t mess with medical students, no matter how delicate they look. You just can’t mess with them.
