Chapter 10: Who Am I to Be So Lucky?
Looking at Luo Qianyun in the wheelchair, Lu Yan’s face stiffened for a moment, but perhaps due to his strong self-hypnosis ability, he quickly recovered.
“Qianyun, you’ve got it wrong. How could I be disappointed? I’m so happy you’re back. But what happened to your leg?”
“Thanks to you guys, those wild wolves are vicious.” Luo Qianyun slapped Lu Yan’s hand away.
“Qianyun, since you’re okay, why didn’t you contact us earlier? Was it… impossible to contact you?” Pei Xianxian asked hesitantly.
Hearing her words, everyone tacitly thought about what might have happened on that line in the no-man’s zone…
Why couldn’t she contact them? Her freedom was restricted, of course!
However, what Pei Xianxian didn’t expect was that she was slapped in the face the next second.
The slap, of course, didn’t come from Luo Qianyun sitting in the wheelchair, but from Song Yunjing.
Miss Song wouldn’t care about the occasion or whose territory it was. “Pei Xianxian, you really can’t spit out ivory from your dog’s mouth. Didn’t your adoptive parents teach you how to speak?”
Luo Qianyun, however, smiled at them. Even though Pei Xianxian tried to throw dirt on her, she still had a smile on her face, without any forcedness.
Just by looking at her, everyone had their own thoughts about whether Luo Qianyun had experienced those things or not.
After all, how proud Luo Qianyun was. If she had been… how could she still be smiling?
“Pei Xianxian,” Luo Qianyun called out to her. “So that’s your plan? Do you think that even if I wasn’t eaten by wolves, I wouldn’t be able to come back unscathed with this face of mine?”
“Qianyun, you’ve misunderstood me…” Pei Xianxian naturally couldn’t admit that this was indeed her thought.
Even without the unexpected appearance of the wolves, she would have found a way to leave Luo Qianyun alone in the no-man’s zone. That was the grand gift she wanted to give Luo Qianyun.
“But there are still good people in this world. Who am I to be so lucky?” Luo Qianyun said. “They not only saved me, but also sent me to the hospital. I’ve been in the hospital these days. If you’re interested, I don’t mind you checking my hospital records.”
“As for not contacting you for so many days? I haven’t even come back, what would I contact you for…” Luo Qianyun said with concern. “What if you made this memorial service come true?”
As soon as she said this, everyone gasped.
“Qianyun, do you not trust your mother?” Luo’s mother suddenly spoke, interrupting everything.
Luo Qianyun suppressed the darkness in her eyes and looked up at her with a slight surprise. “Of course not. Mom, I just think they must have kept this from you. They deliberately wanted to harm me, you don’t know, do you?”
“I…” Luo’s mother originally wanted to use words to suppress Luo Qianyun, but unexpectedly she was caught off guard. “Of course I don’t know, but Qianyun, is it possible that you’ve just misunderstood?”
“I don’t know if it’s a misunderstanding or not, I can only guess based on the facts.” Luo Qianyun sighed helplessly. “It’s strange to say, this time it was supposed to be a trip for me and Lu Yan, but Pei Xianxian suddenly joined in. And the two of them stayed outside alone for more than an hour in the middle of the night, and then suddenly attracted a wild wolf, leaving me alone there… If you say it’s all an accident, that’s too many accidents.”
“It was just an accident, who knew that the wolf would suddenly appear.” Pei Xianxian was about to continue when Lu Yan grabbed her arm hard.
When she realized it, her face turned white.
“You dog and bitch, you’ve slipped up? You two were hooking up in the middle of the night, and you’re blaming it on Qianyun?” Song Yunjing sneered.
Others also remembered the previous statement. Lu Yan and Pei Xianxian said that Luo Qianyun wanted to take pictures, so she attracted the wolf pack.
That way, even if something happened, it would be her fault.
Just then, Luo’s father, who had received a message from Luo’s mother, also rushed over.
Now that Luo Qianyun was alive and well, this memorial service became a joke, and they, the Luo family, became a joke as well.
So even when facing Luo Qianyun, Luo’s father’s face was not good. “Qianyun, since you’re back, you should go home, not make a scene outside. If there are any misunderstandings, we can talk about them at home. Is it necessary to make such a scene outside?”
“Do you think I’m making a scene, Dad?” Luo Qianyun asked.
“Isn’t it?” Luo’s father asked.
“You say it is, then it is.” Luo Qianyun said.
Luo’s father: “…”
Although he was dissatisfied with Luo Qianyun, Luo’s father still suppressed the fire in his heart and politely sent the guests away.
Everyone actually didn’t want to leave, after all, how delicious is it to eat freshly picked melons?
Unfortunately, the Luo family didn’t welcome spectators.
The Luo family originally wanted to ask Song Yunjing to leave as well, but she just wouldn’t leave.
After everyone left, Luo’s father looked at Luo Qianyun with dissatisfaction. “Are you satisfied now? You’ve made our Luo family lose face!”
“Lose face?” Luo Qianyun couldn’t help but smile. “When did the Luo family lose face with me? If you’re talking about losing face, it’s your own doing. Whose daughter disappears for a few days, and then hurriedly holds a funeral? Did you see the body, or did you see me die?”
“You also said that you disappeared for a few days before you came back. You came back from that place in a hazy state, which is even more embarrassing.” Luo’s father said.
“Then according to your logic, Pei Xianxian was kidnapped for thirteen years before she came back, isn’t that even more hazy and even more embarrassing?” Luo Qianyun said.
Hearing this, Pei Xianxian was like a cat with its tail stepped on. “Luo Qianyun, what are you talking about?”
“What’s the excitement? I’m just thinking from Dad’s perspective.” Luo Qianyun said, looking at her suspiciously. “You’re so excited, wouldn’t it be…”
“Enough!” Luo’s mother shouted at Luo Qianyun. “You come back and argue with your family, and you even throw dirt on your own sister. Is this how I taught you?”
Luo Qianyun was also strange, being targeted by her whole family, she didn’t feel sad at all.
Thinking about it later, how many times had this scene happened in the past five years?
After so many times, who would still be sad?
Smiling wryly, Luo Qianyun looked at Luo’s mother and regained her composure. “You did teach me a lot of things when I was young, but you just didn’t teach me what to do if my boyfriend cheated on me and almost killed me.”
“You keep saying that Lu Yan cheated, why don’t you think if it’s your own problem?” Luo’s mother said.
“He cheated and it became my fault?” Luo Qianyun was also convinced by this worldview. She immediately said, “Since you think so, then why were you so angry when Dad cheated on you?”
“You! Who taught you to talk back to your elders like that?” Luo’s mother was really going to be driven crazy by Luo Qianyun. The previous Luo Qianyun wouldn’t dare to contradict her even once.
She didn’t know what possessed her this time, she would retort every time she was said.
