Chapter 16: He’s Being Rejected on a Blind Date?
Pei Xianxian held her camera, her anticipation for the upcoming scene palpable. She was determined to capture several “interesting” photos of Luo Qianyun.
With these photos in her possession, wouldn’t Luo Qianyun be completely under her control?
Then, she wouldn’t just make her apologize online, she would force her to obediently marry Luo Qi.
Marrying a fool, she wanted to see how Luo Qianyun would dare to be arrogant in front of her.
To say that Pei Xianxian wasn’t jealous of Luo Qianyun at all would be a lie.
From the first day she returned to the Luo family, Pei Xianxian had known about Luo Qianyun’s existence. Not only did Luo Qi, the fool, constantly refer to her as “little sister,” but her own parents would always brag about their adopted daughter’s excellence in front of her, a level she could never reach.
Luo Qianyun had an extremely high IQ, unlike her, who struggled even to get into college.
Despite being the same age, she only had a junior college degree, while Luo Qianyun had a doctorate.
This meant she would forever be inferior to Luo Qianyun.
To make matters worse, Luo Qianyun’s appearance also surpassed her, and Pei Xianxian couldn’t swallow this bitterness.
Thankfully, starting today, Luo Qianyun, the unattainable moon, would be dragged into the mud.
The sound of the door opening echoed in Luo Qianyun’s ears. She lifted her head, her messy hair clinging to her face…
A faint scent of blood filled the air…
As she reached the entrance to the inner room, Pei Xianxian collided with Luo Qianyun’s eyes, filled with anger.
At that moment, Pei Xianxian couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt. “You… why are you looking at me like that? I’m doing this for your own good. Your brother loves you so much, if you two are together, he’ll definitely treat you well.”
Luo mother was the first to notice Luo Qi’s unusual state. She initially thought he had just done something and was asleep.
But the air only held a faint scent of blood, not the smell of intimacy after intercourse. Luo Qi’s body also seemed off.
When she got closer and saw the large bump on Luo Qi’s forehead, with a broken skin, Luo mother rushed to his side. “A Qi, A Qi?”
Seeing Pei Xianxian still talking to Luo Qianyun, Luo mother directly scolded, “What are you talking about? Call an ambulance!”
Pei Xianxian finally noticed Luo Qi’s unusual state. “Luo Qianyun, you dare hit him.”
The exhausted and weak Luo Qianyun didn’t respond to Pei Xianxian, nor did she explain that it wasn’t her who hit him, but Luo Qi himself…
Luo Qianyun hadn’t expected that her brother would, because of her words, because of his fear of hurting her, his fear of her crying, choose to hit his head against the wall and faint.
And she, relying on the constant pain she inflicted on herself, hadn’t lost her mind, hadn’t done anything to her brother…
After Pei Xianxian went out to turn off the signal blocker and call 120, Luo Qianyun had already been slapped hard by Luo mother. “We took you in for eighteen years, and this is how you repay us? Luo Qianyun, if anything happens to my son today, you won’t live either!”
“If you hadn’t done such a despicable thing, today’s incident wouldn’t have happened, and Luo Qi wouldn’t be hurt.” Luo Qianyun said in a hoarse voice.
“Shut up!” Luo mother slapped her again. “If it weren’t for you, this ungrateful wolf, who doesn’t care about the Luo family’s interests, today’s incident wouldn’t have happened!”
Seeing Pei Xianxian return, Luo mother directly said, “What are you standing there for? Take some good pictures of her.”
Pei Xianxian also knew that nothing had actually happened between Luo Qianyun and Luo Qi, so she didn’t plan to take any pictures.
However, hearing Luo mother’s words, she realized that even if nothing had happened… who could say for sure?
These kinds of photos, if handled well, wouldn’t be completely useless.
Luo Qianyun stood up, her legs as soft as noodles, but she didn’t bother to argue with them, she simply didn’t have the energy for a verbal fight…
The ambulance arrived quickly. Seeing familiar faces, Luo Qianyun stopped a young nurse. “Xiao Wan.”
“Doctor Luo?” Lin Xiaowan was surprised, then realized she was at the Luo family’s house.
Luo Qianyun nodded slightly. “I need to go to the hospital too, take me with you.”
The others were carrying Luo Qi on a stretcher. Seeing this, Lin Xiaowan also helped Luo Qianyun get into the ambulance.
But as soon as she touched Luo Qianyun’s arm, she heard her gasp.
She didn’t look before, but now she was shocked. “How are you so injured? Get in the car, I’ll treat you.”
Luo Qianyun’s arm was covered in bloody wounds, one after another, truly frightening.
On the other side, Luo mother saw that it was people from the Third Hospital, and couldn’t help but glare at Pei Xianxian. After all, Luo Qianyun was a doctor in the Third Hospital’s emergency department.
In other words, these were her colleagues.
Due to everyone being in the ambulance, Lin Xiaowan couldn’t ask too many questions while treating Luo Qianyun’s arm wounds.
But it was obvious that she also knew Luo Qianyun’s injuries were related to this family.
Although Luo Qianyun had only been officially employed in the emergency department for less than two months, there were many rumors circulating about her in the hospital.
Coupled with the recent incident of Luo Qianyun’s mistaken obituary, everyone had many speculations about the Luo family.
Now, there was another one.
At the hospital, Luo Qianyun didn’t bother with Luo Qi, who was being wheeled away, and went for an examination and then got an IV…
There were still drug residues in her body, causing her to feel weak and drowsy.
After sleeping for a while in the infusion room, she finally felt normal again.
When she left the hospital, Luo Qianyun called Song Yunjing.
Hearing about today’s events, Song Yunjing was almost furious, wanting to fly back immediately.
But Luo Qianyun felt empty inside, and hung up after a few words.
When she was five years old, she was adopted from an orphanage. At that time, the director said she had a home now.
But now, it seemed like she didn’t have a home anymore…
The director had passed away three years ago, and the orphanage was no longer there. It seemed like she was truly alone.
Unconsciously, Luo Qianyun walked to a coffee shop.
Because the injury on her thigh hadn’t healed, walking this far caused the wound to throb.
She had no choice but to find a bench on the side of the road to rest for a while, planning to take a taxi later.
Just then, a young and beautiful girl walked past her, constantly complaining to the person on the other end of the phone. “Mom, this guy is so boring, he says everything is confidential. Don’t introduce me to any soldiers in the future, it’s a waste of my time.”
Hearing her words, Luo Qianyun couldn’t help but glance at her.
But then, Luo Qianyun saw someone walking out of the coffee shop, someone she knew…
Lu Yunzheng hadn’t expected to meet her here before going to the hospital to find her.
As he walked towards her, Luo Qianyun couldn’t help but look at the girl who had walked away.
She didn’t expect that he would be rejected on a blind date?
