Please Fall in Love with Me in Winter
Winter Love Chapter 12.1

Meng Siyi’s behavior at the time made everyone laugh for a long time and was repeatedly mentioned as a negative example.

“Who would be so silly during the wedding ceremony, walking up to the bride and saying, ‘I’m very happy to see you today’?” the elders joked. “It’s not like he’s visiting her family.”

“Indeed, he was so stunned by the bride that he just stood there with his hand outstretched, forgetting to kneel on one knee and propose.”

“Our bride is also not shy at all. As soon as he reached out his hand, she followed him.”

Everyone enjoyed the jokes, and the initial tension of the occasion turned into embarrassment for Zhu Shiyu. It was her first time getting married, and when Meng Siyi extended his hand, she instinctively took it. It was only when reminded by those around her that she sat back down and continued with the wedding ceremony.

— Meng Siyi had just knelt on one knee in front of her when the bridesmaid immediately handed him a marriage guarantee book, a template found online with exaggerated clauses. Reading it made both Meng Siyi and Zhu Shiyu slightly embarrassed.

However, Zhu Shiyu’s cousin and her friends were laughing heartily at the scene.

After much effort, Meng Siyi finally successfully completed the wedding ceremony. When they got into the car and sat down, both of them sighed with relief. Their eyes met, and they both laughed spontaneously.

The wedding venue was much more normal.

The hotel was decorated beautifully, and the host controlled the scene. After a simple blessing, the music started, and Zhu Shiyu, arm in arm with her father, slowly walked out.

Meng Siyi stood at the front, as if he had been waiting for a long time.

Below, there were many guests, both familiar and unfamiliar faces. Both of them had a segment for vows and speeches. Zhu Shiyu had been silently rehearsing her speech, which was short and formal, calm and composed.

She always thought this was just a formality until the microphone was handed to Meng Siyi. Perhaps it was the glaring lights above, but his face and voice carried an indescribable solemnity. The subsequent proposal and exchange of rings went smoothly.

Zhu Shiyu felt that her emotions were drawn in by his seriousness, so much so that she didn’t even realize the kissing ceremony had ended.

She vaguely heard the host say, “Please, the groom may kiss the bride,” and before she knew it, Meng Siyi had leaned in. Perhaps because Meng Siyi’s movements were too quick and light, he barely touched her before quickly pulling away. She only felt a hint of his warm breath.

The host’s voice still echoed through the venue, and the audience seemed not to have fully reacted yet. The applause gradually grew from light to heavy.

“Let us all congratulate today’s newlyweds, wishing you a happy and harmonious marriage, and a long and prosperous life together.”

The host’s loud blessing brought the day’s events to a perfect close.

The experience of getting married could be summed up in one word: exhausting.

From the preparations the night before to being woken up after only a few hours of sleep, and then changing out of the heavy wedding dress into the reception attire.

Throughout the banquet, they went from table to table, greeting and chatting with relatives and friends. Even though she only took a sip from each glass, by the end of the event, she had drunk quite a bit.

Meng Siyi drank even more than she did. Most of the time, he was the one blocking the drinks, emptying glass after glass. By the time the toasting was over, his face was visibly red.

When they left the hotel, it was dusk, the transition between day and night, with a faint orange glow lingering in the distance.

At the hotel entrance, Zhu Shiyu and Meng Siyi stood together, bidding farewell to Zhou Zhen and the others.

“Mom, Dad, be careful on the road,” Meng Siyi said, naturally addressing them as his parents.

“Okay, you two…” Zhou Zhen looked at Zhu Shiyu with a complex expression, but in the end, she just nodded without saying anything.

“Alright.”

In the car on the way back, no one spoke for a while.

The whole day had been a whirlwind of activity, and both of them were exhausted, left only with the fatigue that follows exertion.

The air was quiet, and the car sped smoothly along the road. On both sides were unfamiliar landscapes, heading in a direction that was not familiar to her.

From today onwards, she would start living with Meng Siyi.

Zhu Shiyu felt anxious and inexplicably fearful of the unknown.

She sat there, taking a deep breath to calm the chaotic emotions in her chest.

“Are you tired?” the person beside her reached out a hand to hold hers, turning his head to ask softly.

“Yes,” Zhu Shiyu looked at him and nodded. “A little. What about you?”

Meng Siyi thought for a moment. “I’m physically exhausted.”

The next second, he smiled. “But I’m very happy inside.”

“Is that so?” Zhu Shiyu seemed to be infected by his joy and couldn’t help but smile.

“That’s good.”

“What about you?” Meng Siyi suddenly stopped and looked intently at her.

“Are you happy?”

Zhu Shiyu was taken aback.

After a moment, she hesitantly replied, “A little.”

Zhu Shiyu confirmed with a nod. “Getting married doesn’t seem as scary as I imagined.”

“………” Meng Siyi fell silent for a moment and quietly let go of her hand.
