Reborn as the General’s True Daughter! The Prime Minister Husband’s Boundless Affection Chapter 49

Chapter 49: Princess Ming Yue and Mu Rong Shu Are on a Rampage!

“I thought someone was acting all high and mighty, but it’s just the Duke of Ding’s heir. After not seeing him for so long, he’s still as detestable as ever.”

With this sharp voice came the crack of a whip. The young girl swung it with precision, landing a hit that sent the Duke of Ding’s heir and his companions sprawling. If the Duke of Ding’s heir hadn’t dodged quickly, the whip would’ve struck his face.

The Duke of Ding was an adopted royal in the Dashing Empire, skilled in martial arts. Unfortunately, the heir to the Duke of Ding’s estate turned out to be a useless wastrel.

Although the Duke’s heir lacked any proper knowledge, he had been taught martial arts by the Duke himself as a child. His ability to stir trouble came largely from his decent skills and the unlimited doting from his mother, the Duchess of Ding.

Seeing who it was that intervened, the Duke of Ding’s heir fumed, pointing at the young girl. “Jun Ming Yue, you shameless woman! Who told you to meddle in my affairs? I advise you to step aside, or I won’t be polite with you.”

“Heh, do I need you to be polite?” The young girl didn’t bother with further words, raising her whip and charging at him.

Wen Jing and Er Zhu quickly shielded Mu Rong Shu and Little Yu, with Er Zhu signaling to his sister. Xiao Tao immediately understood his intent and quietly slipped away, heading toward a street corner to wait for Old Master.

Mu Rong Shu had recently been warned by her mother and older brother not to argue with Er Zhu any longer. However, Wen Ye, who had obtained the Autumn Hunt map, was eager for Mu Rong Shu to fight him once more. So, after finishing his duties, he insisted on inviting her to dinner.

Mu Rong Shu wasn’t in the mood to entertain him, but seeing the chance to make a fool of Wen Ye, she agreed eagerly. As the carriage reached the corner, it was suddenly blocked by her niece’s maid.

Before Xiao Tao could explain, Mu Rong Shu and Wen Ye were gone. Someone dared to try and steal his niece to make her a concubine? Was he unable to lift his sword?

Wen Ye immediately understood that not only was his younger brother being insulted as a “toy boy,” but someone was also trying to steal his sister-in-law. Was he supposed to let this happen? He rushed in without hesitation.

Jun Ming Yue and the Duke of Ding’s heir were evenly matched in their fight, when suddenly a figure appeared, launching a brutal attack on the Duke’s heir. Jun Ming Yue immediately recognized it as an ally, Mu Rong Shu was working seamlessly with him to push the Duke of Ding’s heir into retreat.

The more Mu Rong Shu fought, the angrier he became, his palm strikes growing more forceful, landing with deadly precision. He was putting everything he had into beating the Duke of Ding’s heir. He only regretted not bringing a proper weapon today, or he would’ve turned this man to dust.

Wen Ye, having improved his fitness after some recent training (although still lacking martial arts skills), grabbed a large bamboo pole from a nearby vendor and tossed it to Mu Rong Shu. “Mu Rong Shu, take this and beat him to a pulp!”

Mu Rong Shu grabbed the pole, unleashing a full-on attack on the Duke of Ding’s heir, who was utterly helpless against the onslaught, unable to fight back at all.

Seeing that Mu Rong Shu was handling the Duke of Ding’s heir alone, Jun Ming Yue stopped fighting and stood to the side, occasionally mocking him. The Duke of Ding’s heir was so furious that he nearly coughed up blood.

“Mu Rong Shu, your second uncle is amazing! He knocked that bad guy down!” Little Yu said, watching in awe as the Duke of Ding’s heir was thoroughly beaten.

“Miss Mu Rong, Second Brother, Little Yu, are you all alright?” Wen Ye asked with concern.

“We’re fine, thanks to this young lady!” Wen Jing pointed at Jun Ming Yue, who had been watching from the side.

“Thank you, Princess Ming Yue, for your help. On behalf of the Wen family, I express our gratitude. I will come to thank you in person tomorrow,” Wen Ye said, bowing deeply to the princess.

“Lord Wen, please don’t do that. I snuck out to have some fun. If my mother finds out I’ve been fighting again, she’ll lock me up for sure. Please keep it a secret!” Princess Ming Yue replied with a mischievous smile.

When Princess Ming Yue heard that the Wen family was coming to express their gratitude, she instantly froze. The one thing she feared in life was her mother finding out she had been fighting. She nearly dropped to her knees in front of Wen Ye.

Mu Rong Shu, who had been standing nearby, couldn’t help but laugh at the young girl’s reaction. “Princess Ming Yue, you’re quite adorable!”

“Your sister is so beautiful, no wonder that Duke of Ding’s heir dared to be so bold,” Jun Ming Yue said, marveling at Mu Rong Shu’s beauty.

“Wait a minute… Wen Ye, isn’t your sister my aunt, the Empress? Why should I thank you for saving this lady?” Princess Ming Yue was momentarily confused.

“Wen Jing greets Princess Ming Yue,” Wen Jing said, bowing to the princess.

This time, it was Jun Ming Yue’s turn to be stunned. Wasn’t the third young master of the Wen family supposed to be dead this year? Why was he standing there, alive and well?

“Mu Rong Shu greets Princess Ming Yue,” Mu Rong Shu also bowed, genuinely fond of this brave and enthusiastic girl.

“Which family are you from, little sister? I’ve never seen you before,” Jun Ming Yue asked, her eyes scanning Mu Rong Shu’s face. She was very much into appearances and, seeing a beautiful face she didn’t recognize, thought the girl must not be from the capital, otherwise, someone as stunning as her would surely have made an impression.

“Mu Rong Shu, of the General’s Household, the fifth daughter,” Mu Rong Shu briefly introduced herself.

“Ah, you’re the daughter of Aunt Song! That’s wonderful! Finally, my little sister has come back!” As soon as Jun Ming Yue heard that Mu Rong Shu was Song Wei’s daughter, she immediately became excited. Her dear “Shu Er” had finally returned.

Mu Rong Shu was taken aback by Jun Ming Yue’s sudden enthusiasm. Jun Ming Yue, covering her mouth and laughing, reassured her, “Don’t be afraid, Shu Er. I’m your sister Ming Yue, my mother and Aunt Song are close friends.”

Now Mu Rong Shu understood. She was the daughter of her mother’s close friend—what a coincidence!

Thinking about how the Duke of Ding’s heir had bullied her mother’s friend’s daughter, Jun Ming Yue’s anger flared up again. Grabbing her whip, she went straight back to confront the Duke of Ding’s heir. This time, she dragged Wen Ye along, and the three of them teamed up to beat him again.

If it hadn’t been for his attendants rushing to carry the Duke of Ding’s heir away, he might have died right there.

“Shu Er, don’t worry. Your second uncle has already beaten the Duke of Ding’s heir. If he hadn’t run away so fast, I’d have finished him off today. Tomorrow, your brothers and I will go to his house and continue the beating. How dare he bully a girl from the Mu Rong family? I won’t rest until he’s paralyzed.”

Mu Rong Shu smiled reassuringly at her second uncle. She knew how much he loved her and always stood up for her. “Uncle, you’ve already done enough. You should have seen how close he came to dying of rage. It was hilarious.”

“Shu Er, don’t worry. I’ll make sure no one dares to wrong you. Tomorrow, I’ll go to the Emperor and report the Duke of Ding’s son for his violence,” Mu Rong Shu’s second uncle declared, still burning with anger.

“Mu Rong Shu, I’ll go with you. We’ve already fought, so why not report him while we’re at it?” Wen Ye, who was always ready to stand up to anyone, immediately offered his support.

“Uncle, he called Third Uncle a gigolo, called me a burden, and he even overturned Second Aunt’s plum jar. He said Yu Er isn’t my father’s child,” Little Yu explained in his own words.

Wen Ye was stunned. What else had this Duke of Ding’s heir done? Insulting his third brother and questioning his family’s bloodline? This was no longer just a beating, it was time to bring the full weight of the Wen family down on him.

As the idea took shape, Wen Ye quickly came up with a brilliant plan. He beckoned to Mu Rong Shu’s second uncle. “Mu Rong Shu, come over. I’ve got something big to discuss.”
