Chapter 1: At Least Tonight, You Can Only Call Me by My Name
A summer night, the rain poured down in a raging storm.
The sound of the rain pounding against the glass walls intertwined with the dim, sensual light inside the room. It created a seductive atmosphere, pulling at the frantic breaths that filled the space.
Li Zhi, lying on her stomach, bit down on a rolling Adam’s apple.
Lou Yanjing, his long eyes half-closed, tilted his chin slightly, his voice a low, restrained rasp: “Have you thought it through?”
He held Li Zhi’s slender waist in a tight grip.
His jawline was tense, the veins on the back of his hand pulsing. “Are you sure you want to play with me?”
Li Zhi’s drunken eyes were hazy with water.
Her lips, vibrant and alluring, clamped onto Lou Yanjing’s suit button, trying to unbutton them one by one.
But her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
Lou Yanjing abruptly rolled over, pinning her beneath him. His scorching breath landed on her sensitive neck. “You started this, don’t regret it when you wake up tomorrow morning.”
Li Zhi’s eyes were red-rimmed. “I won’t regret it…”
The storm intensified, soaking Kyoto and sending her heartbeat into a frenzy. The lingering scent of alcohol from the kiss ground against her lips, forcefully descending upon her.
“Li Zhi,” his voice was husky. “Call me by my name.”
He held her neck, his long fingers delving into her loose hair, his passionate eyes holding a secret obsession. “At least tonight, you can only call me by my name.”
Li Zhi’s beautiful swan neck arched back.
She cast aside her reason, falling into the desires that had been sparked by her drunken haze. After a long moment, her trembling eyelashes fluttered open, allowing her to see the man’s face clearly once again.
“Okay,” Li Zhi’s breath was short.
The sound of the rain outside the glass wall was fragmented and chaotic. She responded to his request in a broken voice. “Lou…”
“It’s me.”
“Lou… Yan… Jing…”
The storm finally subsided.
The piercing sunlight broke through the clouds, shining through the glass wall and falling onto the luxurious and soft silk bedding.
Li Zhi’s entire body ached.
Her stomach felt like it was on fire, and her head was throbbing. She clutched the blanket and sat up, but as soon as she tried to open her eyes, the intense sunlight made her quickly turn her face away.
Black and white spots danced before her eyes, her vision blurry.
But the trending topics she had seen before she got drunk last night flashed clearly in her memory:
Fu Yanze Sweetly Announces His Fiancee
Popular Actress Jiang Zhiyu Turns Out to Be a True Heiress
Fake Heiress Li Zhi Abandoned
Fu Yanze, I’d Obviously Choose the Real One
Li Zhi looked down and scoffed.
She and Fu Yanze had been childhood sweethearts, inseparable. Ever since she could remember, she had heard the adults around her praise them as a golden couple, teasing them about getting married when they grew up.
So she treated Fu Yanze as someone to follow, unconditionally supporting him, genuinely admiring him, and being his little shadow for twenty years, amidst the encouragement of those around them.
But not long ago, her life took a turn.
Li Zhi, who had always been the center of attention, was suddenly discovered to not be the biological daughter of the Jiang family. Jiang Zhiyu, a popular actress, was quickly brought back as the true heiress.
The Jiang family was ruthless.
They forced Li Zhi to go to the police station to change her name and surname, removing her from the family tree and taking back the house they had bought for her in Kyoto.
On that stormy night, Li Zhi was homeless.
She had originally planned to go to Fu Yanze for shelter, but she accidentally learned from Weibo’s trending topics that he would be announcing his engagement to Jiang Zhiyu at her homecoming banquet that night.
Li Zhi clicked on the live stream of the banquet and heard reporters asking him to choose between his childhood sweetheart and the celebrity true heiress.
Fu Yanze wrapped his arm around Jiang Zhiyu’s waist and smiled lightly. “I’m not stupid, of course I’d choose the real one.”
Yeah, he’s not stupid…
Who would be stupid enough to choose the fake heiress?
Only her, she was so foolish that she actually thought Fu Yanze would remember their childhood and take her in.
Li Zhi bit her lip in grievance, her eyes stinging. Thinking about how she had gone from a pampered princess to being homeless, she wished she could escape reality and get drunk again.
So she lazily lay back down.
Her long, white legs brushed against the smooth sheets, clearly still drowsy from the hangover, completely unaware of her predicament, even unconsciously tucking the blanket around herself.
Until she heard a laugh, a laugh that was both seductive and bone-chilling.
Li Zhi suddenly became alert.
She quickly sat up, clutching the blanket, and turned her head, only to meet a pair of sharp, long eyes that were filled with a mischievous smile.
“Finally decided to wake up?”
Lou Yanjing leaned against the wall, arms crossed, his eyelids lowered as he looked down at her. “Miss Li Zhi, the one who likes to flirt but won’t take responsibility.”
Li Zhi’s eyes widened in fear.
She instantly woke up, pulling the blanket tightly around herself, scanning the surroundings. Only then did she realize she was in an unfamiliar place.
The sunlight was so blindingly bright.
The three sides of the exterior wall were made of panoramic glass. Outside the wall was a green forest with a strong natural atmosphere, like a forest world in fairy tales.
The feeling of fatigue and pain all over her body began to stimulate her nerves again. Li Zhi had a bad feeling.
She quickly pulled up the quilt and covered herself with it. Sure enough, she saw that she was no longer wearing the same clothes as yesterday. Instead, she was wearing a Laperla silk nightgown that she had never seen before!
Li Zhi’s mind was in a mess, and fragments of her drunken haze flashed back in bits and pieces. Her heart beat violently, and she raised her eyes:
“Lou Yanjing?!”
The best buddy she had a close relationship with in high school! Not just an ordinary close relationship! But close enough that they could help each other collect love letters, and they wouldn’t suspect that the other had evil intentions towards them! But now – it wouldn’t be what she thought, right?
A strange environment, a single man and a single woman, clothes all over the floor… and the drunken wine from last night, the rapid breathing mixed with the sound of rain, and the breath exchanged between lips and teeth! Li Zhi suddenly felt that something was wrong.
She started to speak incoherently: “You… I… You… How come we are here???”
Li Zhi heard a deep and soft laugh, and Lou Yanjing raised his eyebrows slightly: “How come we are here?”
He stood up proudly against the wall, and walked towards Li Zhi lazily in his leather shoes until the tip of his shoe was about to touch the edge of the bed. He stopped, leaned over the bed with one arm and pressed down.
The distance between their lips was very close. The hot and humid breath fell. Li Zhi was so itchy that she was in a mess.
Lou Yanjing opened his suit jacket and raised his hand to start unbuttoning his shirt. Mottled kiss marks covered his collarbone, and there were even obvious teeth marks on his Adam’s apple.
“What do you think?” A low voice came into her ears.
Li Zhi hid and denied: “I don’t…”
But her slender waist was suddenly grabbed by someone, and Lou Yanjing lifted her up, causing the two to get closer. Li Zhi turned her face away in annoyance.
Lou Yanjing’s hot breath naturally fell on her most sensitive neck: “You were praising me for my sweet mouth last night, and you kept tasting me. Now you don’t want to admit it when you wake up this morning?”
Li Zhi straightened her neck and leaned back: “I didn’t”
The voice was not finished. The momentum gradually weakened. Just because Lou Yanjing’s mobile phone was handed to her, a recorded evidence of the crime was broadcast unexpectedly.
In the video. The drunken Li Zhi’s eyes were wet and red, and her long eyelashes were wet. She staggered and boldly pressed Lou Yanjing against the glass wall. Her white and slender arms hooked over his neck and took the initiative to press her lips on his Adam’s apple.
Lou Yanjing was obviously the passive party. He raised his chin, closed his eyes and endured it, and gently grasped her thin waist with his palm. When she didn’t step on the high heels firmly, he suddenly woke up and helped her.
But Li Zhi went too far. It was not enough to bite someone’s Adam’s apple, she also jumped on Lou Yanjing’s body, forcing him to let her hang in the koala hug position. And she lowered her eyes and kissed Lou Yanjing on the lips!!!
The video was shot through the car window and glass wall, so no sound could be heard, but the photographer deliberately zoomed in, and could interpret the lip language from her opening and closing red lips: “Do it?”
And it was a 270° fully transparent glass wall!
“Impossible… This is impossible!” Li Zhi’s scalp numbed instantly, and she rubbed her hair into a mess: “How could the person I slept with last night be you!!!”
The eldest lady who was most concerned about her face was unwilling to admit that she had drunk and slept with her good buddy last night, but Lou Yanjing, who was violated, seemed to be in a good mood.
He stared at her with interest: “Li Zhi.”
The moment of close face and zooming in finally came. Lou Yanjing leaned in and approached, his eyes were deep: “When we were in high school, we agreed to be just buddies, but I didn’t expect that you actually wanted to pick me up.”
