Flirty Officer: Surviving The ’80s By Acting Crazy and Getting The Good Stuff Chapter 90

Chapter 90

For two lifetimes, she couldn’t understand.

She was clearly Chen Chunping’s daughter.

This identity was undeniable.

In her previous life, she actually had doubts later on.

She couldn’t understand why Chen Chunping didn’t love her, yet she dragged her down to the abyss.

She showered her niece, Yang Qingxue, with love.

She felt like she was adopted.

So she secretly did a paternity test with Chen Chunping.

The truth was a slap in the face.

She was indeed Chen Chunping’s daughter.

In her previous life, she couldn’t understand why Chen Chunping treated her like that, even though she was her daughter?

She had to crush her into the dust.

This life, she understood.

There’s a term called: “female competition.”

Female competition, also known as female rivalry, refers to competition between women.

It was as if the worse she did, the more triumphant Chen Chunping felt.

If Chen Chunping wasn’t doing well, she wouldn’t let her do well either.

She had no expectations for Chen Chunping to begin with. Today, seeing that it was Chen Chunping’s idea to scheme against her uncle and second uncle’s family, she no longer needed to give Chen Chunping any leeway.

Chen Chunping was able to live a good life now because of the large sum of money she had.

As long as that money was gone, Chen Chunping’s life would become bleak.

She never intended to let Chen Chunping keep that money for her retirement.

Of course, she also knew that she couldn’t make Chen Chunping spit out that money.

But, Zhang Qing could make her spit it out.

And, spit it out without a single cent left!

That was why she sought out Zhao Shanlin.

Zhao Shanlin brought three people with him to find Zhang Qing. He wanted to confirm if Zhang Qing had a big mole on his chest.

As soon as they left the house, they saw Lu Yunxiang being harassed by Su Wenyuan.

He didn’t think much of it.

Zhang Qing’s lead was given by Lu Yunxiang, so he considered it a favor to help her.

So he and his three brothers went up and beat up Su Wenyuan.

Seeing Lu Yunxiang escape perfectly, he left with his brothers.

He didn’t even look at Su Wenyuan, who was lying on the ground with a bruised and swollen face.

Zhang Qing was easy to find.

He had recently become addicted to gambling.

He often gambled with a few acquaintances in the North City.

But he didn’t gamble big.

Just small stakes.

The person who brought Zhang Qing to gamble was Lao Jin, who was also a card buddy with a brother of Zhao Shanlin’s, Da Jun.

Zhao Shanlin smoked a cigarette, his eyes fierce as they landed on Zhang Qing.

He gave Da Jun a wink.

Da Jun understood immediately.

Da Jun took Er Zhu to find Lao Jin.

“Lao Jin, you didn’t call me to play cards, you don’t consider me a brother, do you?”

Lao Jin was only about thirty years old. When he saw Da Jun, he quickly bowed and scraped.

“Brother Da Jun.”

Lao Jin was older than Da Jun, but he called him “brother”!

Because Lao Jin occasionally had to go to the black market to sell things, he relied on Da Jun to connect him.

So he respected Da Jun very much.

He quickly gave up his seat.

“Brother Da Jun, come and play.”

Then Lao Jin introduced him to the people at the table, “This is my brother Da Jun, he’s very well-connected, you’re all friends, let’s play together!”

Zhang Qing glanced at Da Jun, Da Jun’s thick arm had a long scar, he looked like someone who wasn’t afraid of death.

Zhang Qing had been gambling here recently, hoping to get in touch with the black market connections in North City, wanting to make a name for himself in the North City underworld.

In his eyes, Da Jun was the kind of person who could lead him.

So he had no objection to Da Jun sitting down to play cards.

They played and chatted together, the atmosphere was very good.

Zhang Qing wanted to befriend Da Jun, so he kept giving Da Jun “explosions” (in mahjong, a situation where a player gets a winning hand).

The stakes were low, even if Dajun kept winning, he only won about twenty yuan.  Almost all the losses were Zhang Qing’s.  Dajun saw that Zhang Qing was very agreeable and was satisfied with him.

“Brother, I have a dinner appointment later.  Come with me!  I’ll treat you!”

Zhang Qing was immediately overjoyed.

“Thanks, Dajun Ge.  You don’t need to treat me.  I’ll pay!”

Dajun patted his chest.

“I said I’m treating you, so I’m treating you.  Don’t try to pay for me, or you’re not giving me face!”

Dajun purposely put on a look of anger, which was quite intimidating.  At least Zhang Qing, who was a bully at home, was intimidated.

So, the group went to an underground restaurant in the north of the city.  Dajun boasted about Zhang Qing the whole time, saying how much he admired him, and kept pouring him drinks.  Zhang Qing was easily flattered.  Dajun’s attitude clearly showed that he respected him, so how could he refuse the drinks he offered?

Soon, Zhang Qing was drunk and passed out on the table.

Dajun smiled.

“Brother Zhang Qing can’t hold his liquor!  Erzhu, let’s take him back.”

Erzhu immediately stood up.  “Okay.”

Dajun said to Lao Jin and the others, “You guys continue.  This is the first time Brother Zhang Qing has had a drink with me.  I have to make sure he gets home safely.”

Dajun said that, so naturally, no one had any objections.

Dajun and Erzhu took the drunk Zhang Qing out of the restaurant and directly to a small alley.  Zhao Shanlin was already waiting there.

Dajun and Erzhu casually threw the drunk Zhang Qing on the ground.  Zhao Shanlin immediately stepped forward and tore at Zhang Qing’s chest clothes.  Under the flashlight, the big mole on Zhang Qing’s chest was very obvious.

In an instant, Zhao Shanlin’s blood rushed to his head, his eyes turning crimson.  His fists and teeth were clicking.  He had been prepared for the fact that Zhang Qing was the real culprit, so even though he was furious, he held back.

Lu Yunxiang was right.  Just killing him would be too easy.  He wanted to make him lose everything, suffer endlessly, and regret it for the rest of his life.  Then, it wouldn’t be over!

Zhao Shanlin said coldly to Dajun, “Take him back first.  Dajun, then follow the plan.  I’m going to make him suffer for the rest of his life!”

Dajun and Erzhu knew about Zhao Shanlin’s wife.  Now that they knew Zhang Qing was one of the culprits, they wanted to tear him apart.  Zhao Shanlin looked evil and intimidating, but he was actually loyal and righteous.  Both Dajun and Erzhu had been greatly indebted to Zhao Shanlin.  His wife had gone through such a terrible ordeal, and they wouldn’t let the person who had insulted their sister-in-law go unpunished!

Zhang Qing was doomed!

The next morning, Lu Yunxiang got up early and pretended to go to the market to buy groceries.  As she walked out of the compound and into the alley leading to the market, she saw Zhao Shanlin leaning against the wall.

Zhao Shanlin glanced at her but didn’t move.  Lu Yunxiang walked over, and they acted as if they didn’t know each other.  She noticed that Zhao Shanlin put a piece of paper in her basket.  Then he left.  He clearly didn’t want to have too much contact with Lu Yunxiang.

Lu Yunxiang walked to a deserted corner and opened the note.

[Thank you!  I will do as you said.  I’ll take care of the rest.]

Lu Yunxiang looked in the direction Zhao Shanlin had gone.  She actually saw a hint of “Outlaw of the Marsh” in him.  It seemed like she had found the right person this time.

But she wouldn’t dwell on it.  After all, she wouldn’t have any contact with Zhao Shanlin in the future.  It was just a chance encounter, a passing acquaintance.
