The enemy seemed to be reallocating forces from the right flank to another battlefield. It looked as if they had completely abandoned the right flank. If that were the case, it could only mean they had given up on the fight.
The right-wing army led by Cruz and Skullfy seized the opportunity to push forward relentlessly. They had the enemy completely on the back foot, and it seemed they were on the verge of annihilating them. But at that moment, Mary pointed out something concerning.
“Yui, look at the enemy markers over there. Something seems strange,” Mary said.
She was referring to the enemy army markers being targeted by the right-wing forces. Judging by their numbers, they appeared to be a mid-sized battalion.
“What’s strange about them?”
“Look, our allies approaching those markers are disappearing one after another.”
“Even if we’re overwhelming them, it’s not surprising for us to suffer some losses, right?”
“The rate and number of disappearances are abnormal. There’s definitely a formidable enemy over there.”
Watching closely, Yui noticed that allies approaching those markers vanished as quickly as snow near a fire. It was clear that a tremendously powerful enemy was stationed there.
“Can we establish communication with the unit attacking that enemy?”
“Yes, of course. I’ll connect you right away,” the communications officer replied.
After some quick work on the console, the voice of the specified unit commander echoed through the bridge.
“This is the 708th Battalion. We’re currently engaged in combat with a single enemy warship. There are two absurdly powerful Magicrafts here. Even a group of Triple Highlander-class Magicrafts can’t make a dent! Send reinforcements immediately!”
It became apparent that there were extremely powerful foes in the area, causing the allied forces to struggle. For further information, Yui asked about the specifics of these enemies. The battalion commander quickly described them.
“One is a silver Magicraft with a lion’s mane-like design on its head. The other is a slender, gold Magicraft covered in countless blades. Both are monsters of unimaginable strength! Wait a second… the lion Magicraft is launching an attack—ahhh!”
The commander’s scream was the last thing heard before the communication was abruptly cut off. Checking the markers, Yui was shocked to see that all nearby allies had vanished. Several hundred Magicrafts had been wiped out in an instant, an overwhelming threat unlike anything encountered before.
“Request Cruz and Skullfy to eliminate those targets immediately. Leaving them unchecked is too dangerous,” Yui instructed.
With Cruz and Skullfy, along with their close aides, no enemy, no matter how formidable, should be able to defeat them easily. For a moment, Yui considered deploying personally, but with the absence of her adjutant, it wasn’t feasible.
Cruz and Skullfy promptly acted on the request. Leading their aides and a portion of the right-wing army, they headed toward the enemy battalion. However, even as they advanced, the losses on their side continued to mount. Thousands of units had already been destroyed by those two enemies alone.
