Chapter 44 Acupuncture
Shen Bo passed the county exam, not only was the Shen family happy, but the whole village was happy for him, especially Zhao Village Chief. When he received the news, he celebrated by drinking at home that night.
He had been running a private school in Lanhua Village for so long, and he had taught so many students, but only Shen Bo was the most successful. The others had only learned to read, and they hadn’t learned much else.
He thought that was it for him, that he wouldn’t be able to teach any decent students anymore. But he didn’t expect that Shen Bo would give him such a surprise when he was old.
He passed the county exam on his first try, and he even got tenth place. This was much better than when he was young!
The Shen family also celebrated for Shen Bo that night. Shen Nian kept her promise and stood on a small stool to personally cook a table of dishes. The adults were afraid that she would be tired and wanted to stop her, but they couldn’t.
To be honest, although Shen Nian was small, she was very serious about cooking. She was like a little adult, and the dishes she made tasted very good.
Shen Dong couldn’t help but show off his daughter in front of Shen Nan and the others, which made Shen Nan and the others take turns toasting him until he passed out.
Seeing his family so happy, Shen Bo’s eyes were filled with a gentle smile that couldn’t be erased.
Actually, he didn’t really like reading, but reading could bring benefits to his family, make their lives better, and make his family happy. So he liked reading!
He had to work even harder in the future!
The next day, Shen Bo returned to the academy. Shen Duo and Shen Xue followed him. After explaining the situation to the academy, they quickly left. They wouldn’t be attending classes at the academy anymore.
The dean didn’t react much to their departure. He had long known the nature of these two. If it hadn’t been for Shen Dong’s repeated pleas and his little sister’s cuteness and intelligence that made him happy, he wouldn’t have accepted these two students!
Of the three, he admired Shen Bo the most. This young man was very calm, talented, and hardworking. As long as he didn’t go astray, he would definitely be successful in the future.
Shen Bo returned to the academy to study, he had one day off every ten days.
Shen Duo and his father sold pancakes every day. Shen Cai stayed at home to do woodworking. Even without a master, he could figure out some tricks on his own and make the things he wanted.
However, Shen Dong still wanted to find him a master, a master with outstanding skills. But this kind of master carpenter was hard to find. The master carpenters he knew made very ordinary things.
Shen Nian remembered the matter of finding a master for her second brother.
However, before she found a master for her second brother, she had to treat Zhao Uncle.
That night, Shen Nian quietly snuck out of her room. The white wolf in the courtyard saw her and was about to howl at the moon.
Shen Nian rushed over and hugged its head, hanging on to it, she lowered her voice and warned: “Don’t howl, or I won’t give you junk food anymore.”
Ever since the white wolf became a member of the family, it had become the Shen family’s alarm. If she dared to sneak out in the middle of the night, the stinky wolf would howl to notify her family and catch her.
It was so annoying!
Hearing the words “junk food,” the white wolf immediately stopped howling. Its wolf eyes stared at her intently.
Shen Nian pouted, let go of it, stood firm, and took out a sausage from her space: “Only one today.”
She didn’t have much of this kind of junk food left in her space. But luckily, she had other options now, she didn’t like eating it anymore, she used it all to feed the white wolf.
Being a wolf, it actually liked to eat this kind of thing.
After feeding the white wolf and letting it go out, Shen Nian went to the fourth family and snuck into Zhao Uncle’s room.
Because she had told Zhao Uncle in advance, he wasn’t asleep. He was sitting on the bed, counting his fingers and toes.
Just like Wan Baocai, he couldn’t count how many fingers he had.
Seeing Shen Nian climb in through the window, Zhao Uncle was very excited. He grabbed the window and was about to climb out.
Shen Nian quickly stopped him: “What are you climbing out for?”
Zhao Uncle chuckled: “It’s fun.”
Shen Nian shushed him and whispered: “Zhao Uncle, be good, we’re not playing now, let’s do something important.”
“Oh, oh.” Zhao Uncle followed Shen Nian back to the bed and sat down.
Shen Nian climbed onto the bed and stood behind him: “Zhao Uncle, I’m going to check your head now. Don’t move, okay? When I cure you, you’ll become as smart as me!”
Zhao Uncle hummed in agreement: “I want to become as smart as Nian Nian.”
Shen Nian smiled and began to carefully examine Zhao Uncle’s head.
After examining him, she pressed a few acupoints on his head.
“Ouch, ouch, ouch!” Zhao Uncle hummed.
Shen Nian reduced her pressure and asked: “Does it hurt here?”
Zhao Uncle hummed twice: “It hurts, it won’t hurt if you don’t touch it.”
Shen Nian nodded: “I know!”
She took out a set of silver needles from her space while Zhao Uncle wasn’t looking: “Zhao Uncle, I’m going to give you acupuncture now. Don’t move, okay? Don’t worry, it won’t hurt. After the acupuncture, you’ll feel very comfortable, and you won’t have nightmares at night!”
She coaxed him, making Zhao Uncle completely relax before taking out the silver needles and slowly inserting them into one of the acupoints on his head.
Zhao Uncle was in pain. He wanted to see what Shen Nian was using to poke his head, but remembering Shen Nian’s instructions, he covered his mouth and didn’t cry out.
After inserting five needles into Zhao Uncle’s head, Shen Nian stopped.
She breathed a sigh of relief. It was a good thing she had studied Chinese medicine and had been researching it for many years. When she was in the Special Abilities Force, she had participated in many medical research projects. Otherwise, without any equipment, she wouldn’t dare to perform this kind of brain treatment on Zhao Uncle.
Two quarters of an hour later, Zhao Uncle was drowsy with the silver needles on his head. Shen Nian skillfully removed the needles, turned her back to Zhao Uncle, disinfected them with alcohol, and put them back into her space.
Zhao Uncle asked in confusion: “Is it done?”
Shen Nian smiled faintly: “It’s done, you can go to sleep.”
“Oh!” As soon as the sound left his mouth, Zhao Uncle fell onto the bed with a bang and fell fast asleep.
He had long been unable to hold on, he was just waiting for Shen Nian to say something. If Shen Nian didn’t let him sleep, he wouldn’t sleep.
Shen Nian shook her head with amusement and covered Zhao Uncle with a blanket.
Zhao Uncle’s condition would require two more acupuncture treatments. After three treatments, Zhao Uncle would gradually recover and no longer be foolish.
As for amnesia, there was no clear treatment method yet, only psychological therapy could be used.
Shen Nian climbed out the window.
The white wolf saw her come out and opened its mouth to be fed again. Shen Nian helplessly gave it another sausage.
She returned to her grandparents’ room and quietly climbed into Grandma Shen’s arms.
As soon as she fell asleep, Shen Feng, who was sleeping on the inside, opened his eyes and looked at her.
…
Before finding a master, Shen Xue had to help Shen Dong set up a stall besides practicing woodworking.
One day, they set up a stall and didn’t return home until it was dark. Their faces were all a little pale.
Wei Shi asked: “What’s wrong? Didn’t you sell out? Why are you back so late today?”
