Su Wan sensed danger approaching. Her words abruptly stopped as she looked up at him, “What are you going to do?”

The boy’s gaze, lowered and both beautiful and dangerous, made her heart skip a beat.

Boys are always just boys, unable to take a joke. He wouldn’t really try to hit her, would he?

Su Wan warned him, “If you dare touch me, I’ll deal with you.”

Although she was fairly certain that Shen Tingyan wasn’t intimidated by her threat, Su Wan still said it.

Shen Tingyan’s gaze never left her soft, parted red lips.

It was like a delicate flower, so tender. He almost wanted to press down and rub it, to make it turn red and swollen, to hear her whimper in pain.

His throat bobbed dryly, and he slowly swallowed.

Shen Tingyan’s hand reached out in front of her, his fingers long and his nails neatly trimmed.

For a moment, Su Wan thought he was about to take action against her, and she wondered if she could kick him before he could react. But then, his fingertip stopped right on her lips.

The pad of his finger was slightly rough, covered by a thin layer of callus.

His index finger hooked under her chin, and his thumb gently rubbed her lips. He watched as her soft, pale red lips became even more flushed and inviting.

Su Wan’s usually calm expression shifted. She stared at Shen Tingyan in disbelief.

What was he doing?

His lowered eyes were filled with some unidentifiable emotion, like black waves threatening to drown her.

But it wasn’t cold—it was intense, almost hot enough to burn.

The heat transferred to her lips through his fingertips.

Shen Tingyan’s tone remained as indifferent as always, but there was an unmistakable tinge of desire in his voice.

His voice was lower and rougher.

“Next time, I’ll give you your hush money.”
