Kiss the Medal! With Red Lips! A Sweet and Seductive Military Marriage Chapter 66

Chapter 66: Having a Good Temper is Reserved for Certain People—You’re Not One of Them

Luo Qianyun glanced at the young nurse. She remembered that the nurse had only recently started working and was the head nurse’s sister-in-law.

Since she looked quite attractive, Luo Qianyun had heard that many people liked her. Of course, she didn’t know the specifics, as she didn’t have the time to gossip about others.

She also remembered Qian Meimei mentioning that she had overheard this nurse talking behind her back.

Previously, Luo Qianyun didn’t care, but now this nurse’s sharp remarks had reached her face?

“Thank you. I think I’m quite lucky too,” Luo Qianyun responded with a smile, causing the other woman’s expression to stiffen.

The nurse obviously didn’t believe that Luo Qianyun couldn’t detect the underlying meaning in her words. Thinking she was pretending to be oblivious, she said smugly, “I think this handsome guy here is much better than your boyfriend. He’s so considerate. Your boyfriend has visited so many times but never brought anything for anyone.”

“First, that’s my husband. Second, who says he has to bring you anything when he comes to pick me up after work?” Luo Qianyun replied with a hint of mockery. “You have quite the nerve to expect that.”

“You!” The young nurse was instantly furious. “Dr. Luo, you’re known for having a good temper. I guess you’ve just been pretending this whole time!”

Luo Qianyun cast her a calm glance. “Having a good temper is reserved for certain people. You’re not one of them.”

With that, she turned and left, leaving the nurse so angry that she stomped her feet in frustration. Nearby, a few other nurses couldn’t help but stifle their laughter.

This young nurse often relied on her connection to the head nurse to bully others, so seeing her get put in her place brought everyone some quiet satisfaction.

Back in her office, Luo Qianyun learned something new: Lu Wentao had brought milk tea for everyone when he delivered something earlier.

Each person had a cup.

As her shift ended, Luo Qianyun received a call from Lu Yunzhen. Due to an urgent matter at the armed police team, he wouldn’t be able to pick her up that evening.

After telling him to take care of himself, she packed her small suitcase and headed home.

In the living room, Luo Qianyun placed her suitcase on the table, entered the password Lu Wentao had left her, and opened the box.

Inside were several small boxes that resembled jewelry cases.

Curious, she opened one—and indeed, it was jewelry!

On the left was a jade bracelet, and on the right, a jadeite necklace. There were even more gold accessories.

The last box she picked up contained two rings.

The women’s diamond ring was adorned with an impressively large stone.

Looking at the jewelry, Luo Qianyun was momentarily stunned. It wasn’t until she noticed a piece of paper at the bottom of the box that she understood.

It turned out that her brother-in-law had already informed their parents about her and Lu Yunzhen getting their marriage certificate.

Although Lu’s mother didn’t approve of them keeping it a secret, she chose to respect their decision and acted as if she didn’t know.

However, since Luo Qianyun was now officially a part of the Lu family, Lu’s mother decided to prepare these jewels as gifts and instructed Lu Wentao to deliver them. She also mentioned that when Qianyun visited the capital, she would take her out shopping.

Touched, Luo Qianyun made a special call to thank her.

While Lu’s mother didn’t pry into why they had kept their marriage a secret, she expressed her sincere hope that the couple would live happily together.

After ending the call, Luo Qianyun checked the time and was about to order takeout when Song Yunjing invited her out for dinner, which she gladly accepted.

In the car, Song Yunjing smirked. “This is what they call telepathy! It’s rare that Lu Yunzhen isn’t clinging to you, so I decided to ask you out for a meal.”

“Yes, yes, you’re absolutely right~” Luo Qianyun chuckled.

“Don’t be so perfunctory! Anyway, I’m treating you tonight, but you have to come with me somewhere afterward,” Song Yunjing teased.

“An exchange? That’s new.” Luo Qianyun was surprised.

“It’s nothing serious. Just keep me company for a bit. I promise I’ll have you home before your man gets back,” Song Yunjing assured her.

Hearing this, Luo Qianyun agreed.

After dinner, they arrived at a bar.

“Why a bar?” Luo Qianyun frowned. She rarely went to bars and wasn’t fond of them.

Seeing her friend’s reluctance, Song Yunjing explained honestly, “Actually, I’ve taken a liking to someone.”

“A guy from the bar?”

“Yeah, he’s the owner of this place. He also works as a bartender. I’m telling you, he’s super handsome,” she gushed, adding, “He’s just as good-looking as your Lu Yunzhen.”

“I doubt that,” Luo Qianyun replied flatly.

“Let’s go!” Song Yunjing grabbed her arm and led her inside.

Wearing a black-and-white dress and minimal makeup, Luo Qianyun stood out in the lively atmosphere of the bar with her cool demeanor.

By contrast, Song Yunjing had clearly dressed to impress, showcasing her curves in a figure-hugging outfit.

Soon, they sat at the bar, and Luo Qianyun saw the man her friend was raving about.

He was undeniably striking, with an almost ethereal beauty.

However, Luo Qianyun preferred the rugged and masculine charm of someone like Lu Yunzhen, so while she acknowledged his attractiveness, she wasn’t particularly impressed.

The bar owner clearly recognized Song Yunjing, greeting her warmly and serving a cocktail to Luo Qianyun. “Since you’re Yunjing’s friend, this one’s on the house.”

“Thank you,” Luo Qianyun replied politely and let the two chat while she observed quietly.

Several people tried to approach her, but they were intercepted by either Song Yunjing or the bar owner.

She appreciated the peace and was minding her own business until, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a familiar figure.

Standing abruptly, she startled Song Yunjing.

“Qianyun, heading to the restroom? I’ll go with you.”

“I think I just saw Lu Yunzhen,” she said urgently.

Surprised, Song Yunjing asked, “Are you sure? Didn’t you say he was busy with work tonight?”

“I saw him head that way,” she pointed.

“That’s the VIP area. Not just anyone can get in. You probably saw someone else,” Song Yunjing said confidently.
