Chapter 75: Is It Not Okay to Sleep Together?
Because of what Luo Qianyun said, Lu Yunzheng took an unusually long time in the shower.
His mind kept replaying Luo Qianyun’s words, but he was unsure of their meaning. He was afraid of misunderstanding, yet also afraid that he understood perfectly. He was caught in a dilemma.
But no matter how slow he was, the shower eventually ended.
When there was a knock on the door, Lu Yunzheng’s heart raced.
As soon as the door opened, Luo Qianyun appeared, holding a pillow in her arms. Her fair, pinkish face and long, loose hair made her look like a lazy little kitten.
“You took so long in the shower,” she said, and Lu Yunzheng didn’t know how to respond.
“You…” Lu Yunzheng glanced at the pillow in her arms, “Is there something wrong with the room?”
“Nope,” Luo Qianyun looked up at him and smiled, “I came to sleep with you. Is that okay?”
Should he say yes or no? This was the first time Lu Yunzheng faced such a question, and he was at a loss.
“Move aside,” she said. Reflexively, Lu Yunzheng stepped aside, and she entered the room, still holding her pillow.
Luo Qianyun was familiar with Lu Yunzheng’s room, but his bed was still something new to her.
She climbed onto the bed and carefully placed her pillow beside his, “Why are you standing there? Come to bed.”
Saying this, she burrowed into the blankets, “Come on up.”
When he finally climbed into bed, he didn’t feel uncomfortable with her there. In fact, he found himself quite drawn to the scene.
Once Lu Yunzheng was finally settled in, Luo Qianyun moved closer to him, resting her head on his shoulder. She lay slightly sideways, her left hand… ahem, resting on his chest.
Noticing his tension, Luo Qianyun comforted him, “Don’t be nervous, I won’t eat you.”
With her mischievous hand causing trouble and the softness of her body against his chest, Lu Yunzheng’s voice turned hoarse, “Who’s the sister here?”
“I just said that out of habit. Would ‘big brother’ be better?” Luo Qianyun yawned, “Aren’t you tired? I’m already exhausted.”
“You should sleep in your own room,” Lu Yunzheng muttered.
“No way. After spending time together today, I feel we’re still so distant. We need to get closer,” Luo Qianyun said seriously, then casually lay on him.
Lu Yunzheng’s breath caught, “Get off me.”
“Look at how nervous you are. I’m not afraid, why are you so scared?” Luo Qianyun couldn’t help but laugh.
After a while, Lu Yunzheng said, “I don’t want you to regret it.”
“You’re worried I’ll regret it?” Luo Qianyun was surprised and realized that Lu Yunzheng was thinking much more than she had imagined.
“You might not feel it now, but once I leave, you’ll understand that being a military wife isn’t easy,” Lu Yunzheng said softly.
Right now, she couldn’t sense it, but just like many long-distance or international relationships that ended, there was always a fundamental reason. Long separations were very damaging.
Time and distance would gradually wear down passion. He had thought that after enough time apart, Luo Qianyun might regret it.
Looking at the man who was seriously concerned that she might regret it, Luo Qianyun felt a warmth in her heart. It was because he cared for her that he worried so much.
If he didn’t care, he could just enjoy what was right in front of him, with no need for so much thought. Worst case, they’d divorce, and he wouldn’t lose out.
“Lu Yunzheng, why are you so nice?” Luo Qianyun leaned in and kissed him, “But you forgot I’m a doctor. Doesn’t your army have military doctors? I could work somewhere close to you, so this isn’t an issue.”
“The conditions are bad there,” Lu Yunzheng responded.
“Even if the conditions are poor, at least you’ll be there,” Luo Qianyun said.
She didn’t say anything else and lay back down next to him. “There are only a few days left, so you need to get used to my presence. Good night, Lu Yunzheng.”
“Good night,” Lu Yunzheng replied, gently patting her head.
Soon, he felt her breathing calm down, but at the same time, her restless leg was draped across him.
That night, Luo Qianyun slept soundly, while Lu Yunzheng… not so much.
The next morning, when Luo Qianyun woke up, she touched the empty bed, “You’re up early.”
It made sense. Lu Yunzheng always woke up early to work out…
As she thought about it, she got out of bed to return to her room, but she heard the sound of water from the bathroom. Had he finished his workout?
Just as the water stopped, Luo Qianyun waited a moment and then, as soon as she saw Lu Yunzheng emerge, she jumped out to scare him.
Of course, she didn’t manage to scare him.
But Luo Qianyun still noticed something odd, “Did you take a cold shower after your workout? You’re all cold.”
“I overslept,” Lu Yunzheng explained without really explaining.
Luo Qianyun immediately understood—it wasn’t the shower after a workout.
With a sly look, she asked, “Why are you so hot-tempered so early in the morning?”
“Who do you think had a little demon cling to me all night? The air conditioning was weak last night, and it was a bit hot,” Lu Yunzheng replied.
“You mean there’s a little demon who was tempted by you all night? One of these days, she’ll swallow you whole,” Luo Qianyun teased, making an “aww” sound before turning to leave.
Lu Yunzheng chuckled, “You talk big.”
Back in her room, Luo Qianyun had time for a quick shower. Looking at herself in the mirror, she thought, “Step by step, I’m not in a hurry. I’m sure I can win you over.”
When she came out after changing, she saw Lu Yunzheng waiting for her. “Lu Yunzheng, do you think my lipstick looks nice?”
Hearing this, Lu Yunzheng glanced down at her slightly parted, rosy lips, his Adam’s apple moving slightly. “It looks nice.”
“They say this lipstick doesn’t transfer,” Luo Qianyun said.
Clearly, Lu Yunzheng wasn’t familiar with lipstick.
“Why don’t you try? How would you know if I’ve been tricked or not?” Luo Qianyun said, dissatisfied.
“…How do I try?” Lu Yunzheng asked.
“You idiot.” Luo Qianyun pulled him by the neck and kissed his soft lips, gently rubbing them together, “How does it taste?”
In response, Lu Yunzheng kissed her back, deepening it.
After a while, when Luo Qianyun nearly lost her breath, she was released. Her legs were really soft now.
Looking at her misty eyes, Lu Yunzheng’s gaze darkened, especially when he saw her slightly swollen lips from their kissing.
“So, how’s the lipstick? Did it come off?” Luo Qianyun teased.
“It looks a little smudged,” Lu Yunzheng replied.
Luo Qianyun quickly pulled out a small mirror, looking at her lips. “It really did… Looks like I was tricked again.”
Seeing her irritated expression, Lu Yunzheng felt like a cold bucket of water had been poured on him. “Have you been deceived before?”
