Chapter 79: Lu Yunzheng: The Turtle in the Wishing Well

As soon as the door opened, Luo Qi appeared in front of Luo Qianyun with breakfast in hand. “Sister~”

“Brother?” Luo Qianyun was surprised to see Luo Qi and couldn’t help but look behind him. “Who brought you here?”

“Uncle driver~” Luo Qi brought the breakfast inside, and when he saw Lu Yunzheng, he greeted, “Brother-in-law, come eat breakfast!”

He gave one-third to Luo Qianyun and two-thirds to Lu Yunzheng. “The uncle driver said that brother-in-law looks like he needs to eat a lot. He ate my little cake so quickly, so he must eat more than me.”

“This isn’t just a lot; you’re feeding him like he’s a food bucket,” Luo Qianyun couldn’t hold back a laugh.

Not to mention anything else, just the sticky rice was enough to make Luo Qianyun cringe.

Luo Qi pouted, then turned to Lu Yunzheng, “Brother-in-law, do you want to eat?”

“Since it’s from my big brother, of course, I have to eat,” Lu Yunzheng played along.

Hearing this, Luo Qi was delighted. “Brother-in-law, eat quickly! You have to eat it all to have enough energy to make babies.”

“…Brother, what are you talking about?” Luo Qianyun’s face immediately turned red.

Luo Qianyun laughed quietly to herself, while Lu Yunzheng was helpless, “Big brother, babies aren’t made just by eating a lot.”

“I know,” Luo Qi responded with an exasperated look, as if saying, “Why are you so dumb?”

He continued, “If eating a lot could make babies, I would have had plenty for my sister to play with already.”

“But to have babies, you have to eat a lot,” Luo Qi insisted.

“Then there are other conditions,” Luo Qianyun quietly reminded.

“What other conditions? The uncle driver wouldn’t tell me,” Luo Qi asked in confusion.

Luo Qianyun thought for a moment. “You need someone you like.”

“Then I like my sister!” Luo Qi said.

Luo Qianyun shook her head. “Not that kind of liking.”

“It’s the kind like me and Qianyun. You’ll understand when you’re older,” Lu Yunzheng said, knowing that although Luo Qi was as innocent as a child now, one day he would wake up to the truth.

Though Luo Qi still didn’t fully understand, it didn’t stop him from continuing to ‘make wishes’ to Lu Yunzheng…

So, Luo Qianyun ate her breakfast while watching Lu Yunzheng eat twice as much as usual.

All she could do was claim she wasn’t eating enough and help him eat a little bit.

When she saw one of the buns that Luo Qi liked, she took the opportunity to feed it to her brother, which, in some way, helped out.

By the time they had finished eating, Luo Qi looked like he wasn’t going anywhere.

“Brother, aren’t you still in the hospital?” Luo Qianyun asked, curious.

“You’ve taken leave, so I’ve been discharged,” Luo Qi replied, proud of himself.

Luo Qianyun was completely speechless.

“So you had the uncle driver bring you here to find me?” Luo Qianyun asked.

“I came to play with you guys. Brother-in-law said he was leaving soon, but I haven’t asked him for a baby yet!” Luo Qi said.

“Your way of asking for babies might be hard for anyone to fulfill,” Luo Qianyun laughed.

Luo Qi wasn’t happy with that. “It’s really simple! Why doesn’t brother-in-law just give me a baby?”

“First of all, it’s not necessarily twins. Secondly, they might not be siblings; they could be a brother and sister. Lastly, our version is the hardest,” Luo Qianyun said seriously.

After hearing this, Luo Qi’s hopes were dashed…

He came with hope, only to have it shattered.

“Big brother, do you want to go out?” Lu Yunzheng asked, trying to change the mood.

As soon as Luo Qi heard the idea of going out, his disappointment vanished instantly, and he became full of energy. “Yes!”

Usually, Luo Qi stayed at home, or the uncle driver would take him for a short trip. Most of the time, he liked staying at home playing with Legos.

Even though Luo’s Father and Luo’s Mother loved him, they never took him to public events, because they worried that his cognitive issues might lead to others’ ridicule, causing him to withdraw.

So, since the time he was bullied by other kids after being taken out when he was young, the Luo family stopped taking their younger generation to public events.

Only when Luo Qianyun had rare time off did she take him out.

Therefore, hearing that Lu Yunzheng was taking him out, Luo Qi was beyond excited.

As for where he wanted to go, it didn’t matter to him at all.

After a brief discussion, since Luo Qi liked amusement parks, they decided to take him to an ocean-themed park.

They had a blast watching shows and enjoying rides.

By evening, they were eating at a restaurant when Luo Qi saw the ocean view on the screen and expressed wanting to go to the beach to watch the sunrise.

After eating, the three of them drove for three hours to the beach.

It was the season for beach parties, so even though it was already past 8 PM, there were still many people partying on the beach.

Half an hour later, Luo Qianyun had a glass of beer in hand, and Luo Qi was holding a juice, toasting each other as they sat on beach chairs.

Luo Qi wanted to drink with the adults, but he was restricted by Luo Qianyun.

In the end, he was only allowed to drink juice with the kids.

When Lu Yunzheng brought over a plate of barbecue, Luo Qianyun handed him her beer glass. “The beer here is quite good, try it.”

Lu Yunzheng took a sip. “It’s not bad.”

As soon as Luo Qi saw that, he cheered, “Yay~ We don’t have to go home now!”
