Chapter 88: Be Careful You Don’t Get Reported for Taking Off That Shirt

After finishing dinner, Luo Qianyun and Song Yunjing went straight to a karaoke room.

The two settled into a private booth, poured themselves drinks, and began singing while sipping away.

It didn’t take long before Song Yunjing had downed several bottles of beer.

“Take it easy,” Luo Qianyun advised.

“It’s fine. Even if I get drunk, the bodyguards will get us home,” Song Yunjing replied.

Luo Qianyun, nibbling on a peach, looked at Song Yunjing, who was drinking with abandon. “What’s gotten into you?”

“Nothing. I just slept with someone,” Song Yunjing said nonchalantly.

Cough cough… Luo Qianyun nearly choked. “Next time you want to drop a bombshell like that, at least give me a heads-up! If this peach gets stuck in my throat, you can’t even perform CPR!”

Seeing this, Song Yunjing poured her a drink. “Have some wine to wash it down.”

Reluctantly, Luo Qianyun took the drink and sipped it. “What’s with your reaction after sleeping with someone? Are you unhappy with them?”

“You’ve become so blunt since getting married,” Song Yunjing teased. “So, did you and your hubby also…?”

“You called me married. Isn’t it normal?” Luo Qianyun feigned indifference.

But Song Yunjing noticed her flushed ears and teased, “Your ears are all red. Why are you still so shy? Look at me, an unmarried woman, talking about this openly. Loosen up a bit.”

“Forget me. Let’s talk about you. Even if you slept with someone, why are you acting like you’re heartbroken?” Luo Qianyun asked curiously.

“Heartbroken? We weren’t even dating!” Song Yunjing sighed. “I slept with him, but by the time I woke up, he was gone. I mean, I’ve got a pretty great figure, right? Even if I’m not unforgettable, I shouldn’t have scared him off, should I?”

“Then go wait for him at his shop. He has to show up at some point,” Luo Qianyun suggested.

Hearing this, Song Yunjing looked at her gloomily. “I thought of that too. But he closed his shop.”

“…What exactly did you do to him?” Luo Qianyun asked.

“I’m wondering the same thing! It’s been days, and I still haven’t caught him,” Song Yunjing lamented.

Luo Qianyun thought for a moment. “What about his phone?”

“Turned off,” Song Yunjing replied.

“WeChat?”

“No reply.”

“Are you sure that shop belongs to him? Could he have been scamming you for a one-night stand?” Luo Qianyun speculated.

“Good question. But I approached him first. He didn’t seem that skilled at this sort of thing,” Song Yunjing mused.

“Hunters often disguise themselves as prey,” Luo Qianyun pointed out.

Song Yunjing shuddered and quickly drank another glass. “Stop it! The more you say, the dumber I feel.”

After mulling it over, she asked, “Should I get checked at a hospital?”

“For safety’s sake, yes,” Luo Qianyun nodded firmly.

Feeling increasingly annoyed, Song Yunjing dragged Luo Qianyun to drink with her.

Though she usually held her alcohol well, Song Yunjing drank too much in her bad mood and ended up drunk, clinging to Luo Qianyun and crying.

With no other choice, Luo Qianyun comforted her while preparing to send her home.

Unexpectedly, as they left the karaoke room, they ran into Mo Li—accompanied by another woman.

Mo Li’s gaze lingered on Song Yunjing for a long moment. Just as Luo Qianyun thought he was about to approach them, he turned and walked away.

Realizing Song Yunjing might have encountered a scumbag, Luo Qianyun felt a wave of anger.

She handed Song Yunjing to the bodyguards and quickly caught up. “Mo Li!”

The woman with Mo Li looked at him in confusion. “Ah Yuan, when did you get another name?”

Mo Li glanced at her, then turned to Luo Qianyun. “What do you want?”

Luo Qianyun suddenly recalled what Lu Yunzheng had once said: Mo Li was not suited for love or being loved.

It seemed Mo Li was a complicated man—or had a complex identity.

“Yunjing’s not feeling great. If you have time, you should sit down and talk with her,” Luo Qianyun said.

Mo Li responded with a simple “Got it” before walking off.

Returning to Song Yunjing’s side, Luo Qianyun helped get her home.

Seeing his drunk sister, Song Ningyu sighed. “Qianyun, do you know what’s been up with Yunjing these past two days?”

“It’s relationship stuff. She’ll tell you herself when she wakes up,” Luo Qianyun replied.

Without pressing further, Song Ningyu focused on looking after his sister.

Back home, Luo Qianyun took a shower and then video-called Lu Yunzheng.

The video connected quickly, and Lu Yunzheng, noticing her flushed face, teased, “Just showered?”

“Yes. Have you?” she asked softly.

“Just did,” he replied.

“I don’t believe you. Come closer,” she said playfully.

Lu Yunzheng leaned toward the camera with a fond smile. “What would it take for you to believe me?”

“Hmm… Take off your shirt,” she quipped.

Lu Yunzheng smiled wryly, then pulled off his shirt, revealing his muscular torso.

Blushing, Luo Qianyun covered her eyes but peeked through her fingers. “Put your shirt back on! I was just kidding. If you take it off, you might get reported.”

“Who’s going to report me? You?” he teased.

“Put it on!” she urged.

He stood to retrieve his shirt, his movements offering her a full view of his abs. Flustered, she covered her face completely this time.

“Why can’t you look now? Didn’t you love touching me before?” he teased.

She uncovered her face, touching her hot cheeks. “I’d dare touch you if you were here.”

“Next time, I’ll let you touch to your heart’s content,” he promised.

“Oh! I almost forgot something,” she said suddenly. “About Mo Li—what do you know about him?”

“Why?” Lu Yunzheng asked without directly answering.

“It’s about Yunjing. You mentioned before that Mo Li isn’t suited for love or being loved. Does he have some hidden identity? Or is he just a player?”

Concerned for her friend, she felt she needed to dig deeper into Mo Li’s situation. If there was an issue, it was better for her friend to cut her losses early.
