Chapter 2: The Baby Care System

The 8888 Baby System can continuously upgrade. Right now, we’re at the first stage, which corresponds to babies aged 0-5 months.

To earn system points for this stage, there are a few main tasks: breastfeeding, changing diapers, bathing, taking the baby outdoors, and early education.

Each task corresponds to different points, and the host can view these points and their total score on the system panel.Zhu Jia used her mind to open the system control panel and saw a long grey bar. On one end it said “0” and on the other end “3 million.” This bar likely represented her total points.

As she accumulated points, the grey bar would gradually shorten, eventually nearing 3 million.Under the grey bar, there was a list of activities with their corresponding points for babies aged 0-5 months:

Breastfeeding – 400 points.

Burping – 200 points.

Changing diapers (urination) – 300 points.

Changing diapers + cleaning (defecation) – 500 points.

Airing out the baby’s bottom for 15 minutes – 100 points.

Changing clothes – 100 points.

Bathing – 800 points.

Applying lotion – 200 points.

Putting the baby to sleep at night – 1000 points.

Gas-exercise or passive exercise – 500 points.

Infant massage – 300 points.

Taking the baby outdoors for 45 minutes – 800 points.

Showing the baby 10 black-and-white cards – 100 points.

Playing music for 10 minutes – 100 points.

Head training – 100 points.

Tummy time training – 100 points.

Playing various early education games – 100 points…

Zhu Jia stared at the long list of points and was completely stunned. What were all these things? Why did it seem like a graduate from a top university, such as herself, could hardly make sense of it?

It felt as if Zhu Jia had just learned an entirely new field of study in just five minutes. Fortunately, her academic performance had always been good, so she was able to absorb the information well.

She never realized that there were so many details in parenting; from the little information she’d previously gotten from the media, she thought taking care of a baby just meant holding them and feeding them.

However, Zhu Jia remained optimistic. It was fine as long as there were rules and frameworks to follow. If she stuck to the book, there shouldn’t be any major mistakes.

Zhu Jia stood by the crib and felt a faint draft of cold air from the air conditioning. She cautiously pushed the crib and noticed the wheels were very smooth. She moved the crib next to her bed.

There was also a basement with an entertainment room, a cinema, and a pool table.The original host had only been living in the house for a week.
